I've been doing this 100-read challenge for five years now. Thank you! It's actually the same age as the Creative Award.
Five years, huh! Amazing!!!

Originally, I started this because novels on note were hard to get read, so I thought, 'Fine, I'll read them myself!' and just dove in headfirst. But now, note has become a city where novels are born, read, and surrounded by works. It's a bumper crop of creativity. It's the best!

the Creative Award is evolving every year too...!!

Last year, I read100 entries for the Creative Award 2024,and 200 entries for the Creative Award 2025, and I was blown away by the number of submissions! This year, there are still 12 categories, and a total of 34 media partners. The feature allowing submissions from TALES has continued since last year, and the scale is just incredible. The festival keeps getting bigger and bigger!!

It's a seasonal tradition now. In another 20 years, it'll probably be a kigo (seasonal word).

It's summer! It's here, the creative festival frenzy!!

The 'all are welcome to create!' style is a really great part of the Creative Award, but I still want to casually encounter works I don't know and creators I haven't seen yet. I want to savor the impact of encountering a work, like 'This is me!' or 'Is this even possible?!'. That's the real thrill of the internet.

9. The person who makes me forget myself when I'm with them

The feeling where you and the other person melt together and you can't tell which is which. 'Fitting in' is a necessary act in the modern age, but keeping your own axis within that might be quite difficult. A frank essay, it was good. You must read it.

10. Pseudo 'tear-katsu' (tear-seeking activity)

Tears are said to be the liquid in which stress dissolves most easily. Knowing exactly what makes you cry might be very important. An essay that makes you nod along to its frank narrative! You must read it.

A complete turn from the atmosphere of the title, the depiction of daily life, which is filled with intense unease, chills me to the core... Eek... Being normal is the scariest thing, and on top of that, something definitely bad is going to happen from here on out. It's scary. But I'm going to read it anyway... It's scary. Definitely check it out.

I couldn't handle the Ryoko Hirosue reference right from the start, and I kept giggling at the image of a painter who looks like a monkey...! It's amazing that we live in an era where we can create illustration cutouts like this... It was also great that it was easy to read at a good tempo.

I thought it was a synopsis drifting with tragic love like a Romeo and Juliet story involving a time-traveling species (?), but the pop interactions with Sachiko left me feeling nervous and excited. A cheerful ghost, a gloomy human. What will become of their future...!? A romance novel that you can breeze through and leaves you wanting more, definitely check it out!!

3. Just a Little Further Ahead

Once you introduce a boss character like that, I'm going to fall for them immediately, Chief Kawada...!! An adult romance. Even before the cat-and-mouse game begins, my heart is already racing. Light banter and scattered premonitions. Definitely check this out for a night when you want a little excitement.

4. The Last Person to Marry

What remains at the bottom of your heart when you look back across time? What will become of the protagonist's own love life after watching others go...!? An adult romance intertwined with bittersweetness, definitely check it out.

A romance at an age where you start to become conscious of the remaining years of your life. Since the topic of health has come up more often lately, they are a generation slightly ahead of me, but there were so many points I nodded along to... The frank narrative and the mention of Mitsuhiko Asami made me feel an instant sense of familiarity...!! Definitely check it out.

It's fun to read while imagining movie-like visuals in the atmosphere that dwells in the era and place. 3. Eve Story | Judgment Fable | Ella and Yoru | Episode 1: "The Big Sister Who Fell from the Sky"

Information is the greatest weapon to support an adventure. I loved the writing style that lets you get lost right along with them, while feeling warmed by the pop-style narrative and the interaction between the two! A fresh and fun otherworld fantasy with a unique perspective. Highly recommended!!

4. "World of the Star-Reading Tree" Episode 1: "The Trash Fairy"

Words are just symbols. Because the warmth behind them is clearly visible, I can feel the "thrill-dere" (thrill-induced affection) even while my heart is pounding...! A world chronicle with a meticulously crafted fantasy setting. Highly recommended!

5. [Creative Award 2026] Mugiko's Otherworld Bakery, Episode 1: "Purchased Bread and a Single Decision"

Food connects the world. Even other worlds...!!
The way Mugiko shares her life experience in this other world is comforting, and I really love the straightforward interactions between Noah and his companions. It's a unique adventure fantasy where a bakery fights! Once I started reading, I couldn't stop! I love it. Highly recommended!!

6. Adult Nursery School "Episode 1": The Strongest Yakuza in the East and West Become "Children."

After so many "Yakuza X" stories, who would have thought of... a nursery school!? A sudden, surprising shift from hard-boiled life-or-death struggles to an otherworld? Reincarnation development...!! This introduction, which makes my expectations skyrocket with the promise of nothing but trouble ahead, was great! Highly recommended!!

7. The Story of the River City of Lyore: Episode 1: "The Bridge Keeper"

A classic fantasy literature piece woven with a narrative that seeps with everyday life. I really love the descriptions where you can feel Enzo's perspective, the cold, his breath, and the textures. A work I want to read slowly. I love it. Highly recommended.

I braced myself after reading the two-line synopsis, but it turned out to be a pop-powered Buddhist entertainment fantasy that blew everything away!! What is this~~~!! I don't know what it's saying, but I feel like I understand it! Lol
A unique youth fantasy, highly recommended!!

9. "Mugen Tengoku" (Infinite Heaven) Episode 1: "Regret"

A steampunk sci-fi dystopian fantasy that feels connected to reality, even though the country, era, and people are different. A suspenseful story where you feel the sense of confinement closing in, making it impossible to look away from what happens next. It was great...!! Highly recommended.

10. [Fantasy Novel] "In the Forest Where the Witch Lives Today" Episode 1: The Purple Mist Pendant and the Gummy Sofa

It's a pop, fairy-tale-like fantasy, but when you think about it, there's a subtle cruelty scattered throughout that makes me laugh...! Haha!
A slapstick daily life drama that you'll want to keep watching—it's a fun one! Definitely check it out!!

A dystopian fantasy where averages, equality, and standards have melted away... but it's a story that doesn't feel like it's about someone else. It was a great setting with a sense of visual narrative trickery that would definitely make for a multi-layered development if adapted into a film. You must check it out!

A semi-fictional personal novel based on real-life experiences. The introduction, which feels like eager consumption and losing one's grip on oneself, makes you suddenly startle at that single drop. It's one of those stories where you wonder, 'What happens next...!!?' and get hooked on the continuation...!! You must check it out.
