Summary of 300 note entries I read for #CreativeAward2026
I read a lot for the Creative Award 2026.
+
Hello!
I'm Noyagi, known for reading 100 novels and essays at the end of every year!
I've been doing this 100-read challenge for five years now. Thank you! It's actually the same age as the Creative Award.
Five years, huh! Amazing!!!
Originally, I started this because novels on note were hard to get read, so I thought, 'Fine, I'll read them myself!' and just dove in headfirst. But now, note has become a city where novels are born, read, and surrounded by works. It's a bumper crop of creativity. It's the best!
Hehe, I'm proud to be a bit of an old-timer... Do you remember the note Fes!!?
And, and,
the Creative Award is evolving every year too...!!
Last year, I read100 entries for the Creative Award 2024,and 200 entries for the Creative Award 2025, and I was blown away by the number of submissions! This year, there are still 12 categories, and a total of 34 media partners. The feature allowing submissions from TALES has continued since last year, and the scale is just incredible. The festival keeps getting bigger and bigger!!
It's a seasonal tradition now. In another 20 years, it'll probably be a kigo (seasonal word).
It's summer! It's here, the creative festival frenzy!!
Alright, I'm going to read a ton! I'm rolling up my sleeves with festival energy. Okay, opening the note app!!! I'll take the first move! My turn!! Draw!!!

Everyone, where did you go?
You're not here!!!
That's right, I can't find them.
I forgot. Even though it's my fifth year.
The Creative Award entries are so good at hiding...
Come out! I won't hurt you!!
note doesn't allow searching by creator x tag, and the #CreativeAward2026 tag and individual category tags change so rapidly. There are more AI-generated works this year too, so I can't find them at all!! Because of the award structure, they don't even show up in recommendations. (It's hard to find them.)
The 'all are welcome to create!' style is a really great part of the Creative Award, but I still want to casually encounter works I don't know and creators I haven't seen yet. I want to savor the impact of encountering a work, like 'This is me!' or 'Is this even possible?!'. That's the real thrill of the internet.
Hmm... What should I do???
Alright...
In that case, this is it for this year too! My special move!!!

今年もたくさん読めるといいな!
いいねしてくれたら探しにいきますが「これ読んで!」があったらリプかDMで教えてくれよな!!🐐
創作のお祭り!
みんなでたのしもうぜ〜〜〜!!!ぜひ!!!
It's a festival for the 5th year too~~~~!!!!
First, volume, just volume, reading is the key. If you read a lot, you'll have a lot of encounters! (Boom!!)
This year, in addition to everyone's recommendations, I also read by category! 12 categories! That's a lot!!
Combined, the number is...!!
150% growth year-on-year!
A whopping 300 works!!!
Man, 3 is a great number, isn't it?
It's a number that lets you go crazy! Threeeee!!!
【Summary of what I did】
・I read the top 10 popular tags in each entry category
※Popular tags change very rapidly, so I picked and read what was at the top around the end of June
・I also read the #CreativeAward2026 entries of people who liked my X posts
・Yay!
・I probably missed some works, skipped some, or couldn't read them at the right time! Sorry!
・Seriously, please read the application guidelines thoroughly!!!
・I also added works recommended by myself or others, works recommended by Noyagi, or works I just found interesting!
・I have selected works mainly posted in 2026 as much as possible
・For series and serials, I read the equivalent of the first episode
・I excluded those that clearly deviated from the application guidelines
・I excluded works that were clearly AI-generated (sorry, this is Noyagi's subjective opinion!)
・Seriously, please read the application guidelines thoroughly!!!!!! Please!!!!!
・A total of 300 works! I will introduce them with super short comments!
With 300 works, the table of contents is super long, requiring about 10 thumb scrolls from top to bottom, taking 7-8 seconds...! If you were a world record holder, you could solve a Rubik's Cube twice in that time...!! Wait, isn't Max Park amazing!?!!
So, it's a good idea to jump to the genres or titles you're interested in and read them like channel surfing. Please do!
And, and, I'm sorry if I missed people who liked my posts on X, or if I read works other than the ones you replied with 'Read this!'. Reading 300 works on a smartphone has broken through my cognitive limits. I think I missed some people... My thought circuits are shorting...! Sorry! (End of excuses)
Sorry to keep you waiting!
Well then, here you go!
🐐

This is definitely something I'll read again someday. Definitely check it out.
139. The day I got the biggest laugh of my life in English

143. Working was safe, and resting was a threat.
A self-care essay that makes your heart skip a beat at the title, lets out a breath at the first line, and looks back at oneself while chronicling half a lifetime. 148. Days with a son who doesn't call me 'Mom,' seen through the hole of a donut.
The title made me go 'Huh???', and I took a deep breath before I started reading. And as I read on, I ended up crying a little. The two sides of a donut, the world of the two of them seen through straight eyes. I love it. You must read this.
149. The Poet's Tail
You can hide your head, but you can't hide your tail...!! When I traveled to Iwate recently, I saw a sign at a famous spot that said 'Takuboku's Newlywed Home.' You know, once you become a great writer, all your letters and things get exposed to the public, right...! It's practically horror...!! Everyone is definitely equipped with a poet's tail...!! But you know, perhaps the essence of a person comes out in that soft, vulnerable self that you can't hide after a sneeze. So, I hope Shirase-san becomes a great writer someday. It's the best, a giggle-inducing essay. I love it. You must read this!!
150. 11:36

151. The Last Technicians: A Record of Vanishing IT Traditional Arts (1)
The writing style is like an NHK special, and the text is so compelling you can almost hear the narration. 162. A gal punches a hole in the family motto
An introspective essay tale through youth, where the badge of honor of a gal who punched a hole in the status quo shines. Armoring yourself, dressing up, staying the same. The result of facing each thing one by one until you can laugh it off as 'hilarious' is lovely. Gals are amazing. The mindset of trying to be a gal is also amazing. I love it so much. A must-read!!

169. Going to meet the 'me' of that day, still unhealed. A scribbled letter from 30 years ago
Since the heart is invisible, sometimes imagination just keeps building on imagination, and you can't settle down... Writing for yourself, knowing yourself by writing. The introspection of accepting a certain day as it was, was straightforward and good. Highly recommended.
170. I am made of others
An essay that hits you from the title, chronicling a half-life spent re-examining what I like. Like the dough left over after cutting out cookies, perhaps I am actually formed by things other than myself. The 'likes' that I somehow manage to keep while mixing and crumbling little by little.
Nami-san's original work must also be resonating in someone else's heart. A frank and wonderful essay. I'm happy to have read it. I love it. Definitely check it out!!
171. Gemini that ends the conversation immediately
I know, right~~~!! AI always tries to end it after a certain number of rallies, doesn't it...!!
I sometimes use it as a sounding board, but I'm surprised that it converges to the median if you do it too much—are you aware of that, you...!! It's an AI sounding board meta-essay, and I like it because it's interesting. Definitely check it out!
172. Until the 'Rule Police Girl' who was isolated in the classroom forgives the corporal punishment teacher at the reunion 10 years later. [Creative Award 2026]
I understand the feeling of empathetic embarrassment, or rather, not being able to watch a situation where no one understands you. Even if you know that the pinch is necessary for the structure of the story and that it will be conveyed properly later, it's painful...! The past doesn't change. But if people can change, then from now on, surely. It was a good essay that gently embraces 'that time.' Highly recommended.
173. Tonight, the 12 Zodiac Sign Guessing Game - People who died in my world - <1. The man with the 'scent of death'>

The handsome noodles are truly handsome—what a powerful manga this is...! I really want the Tonkotsu guy to come over more than the Donbei Kitsune... (the options are just too good).
The characters are all so vivid, and it's wonderful to be properly healed by them. On a tired night, you must check this out!!!
176. There Is No Advertising | Introduction
Numbers that are too large lose their substance. It all started with just a tiny scale... Working makes your sense of money go slightly out of whack, and this felt so real it gave me a jolt. A workplace mystery novel with a powerful title and synopsis that makes you curious about how it all ends. Highly recommended.
177. "Steam Doesn't Know Its Own Weight"
I wandered into a mysterious world like a modern fairy tale, and as I traced the cycles of life, I reached the destination. I'm so happy to be able to read a literary world that only that person could write. A fantasy that lets your imagination wander in monochrome tones. You must read it!
178. Eco-mode Foot-tapping, Before I Knew It, I Was on the Path of Asura
They say too much of anything is bad, but is it really bad to do too much...!? A long eco-road that would have stored up 100,000 volts if it were a Pocket Pikachu...!! A diet essay that would make even Master Zorori applaud this serious laziness. It really makes me laugh...!! You must read it!!!
179. Bar Hanare
A tough reality coated in a fantastical narrative style. Moving back and forth between them, my heart aches a little more with every page I turn. A story with a sense of humidity, as if you've been left behind in the rain. Highly recommended.
180. Rest a Little, Then Go Back
It's no wonder people get hooked on AI for recording themselves, using it as a sounding board, and getting advice through verbalization... But the important thing is to face yourself through the AI, isn't it? The deeply nourishing interaction with the AI was wonderful. You must read it!
Yay!
How was the list of 300 works???
This year, TALES has completely taken root, and I feel like almost all the novels I read were recommended by TALES.
Also, not just for illustrations, but creative work and collaboration using AI have increased dramatically! AI has truly become an infrastructure for life and creation. AI has started appearing in fiction a lot, too, and it really feels like we are in a brackish water zone right now.
Among them, finding things where I think, 'They really wanted to write this!' or 'Only this person could have written this' makes me incredibly happy, and it was the best.
I'm happy I got to read them!
There were 69,808 entries for the Creative Award 2025.
And it seems the number of entries this year is already approaching last year's total as of May 29th... Based on tags, it's already over 291,000. Wait, 29... hundred thousand...!?!
#創作大賞2026 の応募作品数の途中経過を発表!
— note (@note_PR) May 29, 2026
すでに去年の作品数に迫る勢いです。
7/8(水)の〆切まで、残り40日となりました。ひきつづき応援しています💪
※連載作品については話数に関わらず、1作品として算出しています。 pic.twitter.com/YbKgVkCFJO
Even though I read 150% more than last year, with a huge boost...
Believe it or not, this is only0.1%!!!!!
(Assuming there are over 290,000 entries)
Are you kidding me! Even though the deadline was moved up by three weeks this year...!!
If the number of entries were the total land area of Japan, I've only managed to read about as much as Yokohama City! What is going on!?! Wait, this note is basically Chinatown!! I don't even know what's what anymore...!!!! Fried rice!!
The city of creation is becoming endlessly vast. Amazing!
+
In this city of creation that's becoming so vast, there were quite a few I couldn't find even after going to read them through likes on X!! Sigh... what a wasteeeeeee!!!!
The judges might read everything (I'm so grateful I can't sleep with my feet pointed toward them), but please do the following so anyone passing by can read them! I'm begging you!! You can even say a goat asked you to do it!!!! Promise!!!!
Look, this year it's explicitly written that whether or not it was "read" is one of the judging criteria!!!! Please!!!!!!

It's just a little bit of effort. But having it or not really changes the hurdle for reading...!!
Also, there were some entries this year where the tags were wrong, or some that were super interesting but I couldn't introduce them, so please, everyone, review the application requirements...!!! No matter how wonderful a work is, if it doesn't meet the requirements, the contest power is zero... If it's not there, it's not there.
The official account has created a checklist again this year below, so let's definitely double-check it sometime before the deadline...!!! I'll do it too.
+
There's a reader support period after the Creative Awards deadline, so please, by all means, go on a journey to read them until 7/8!!
Since you can't find Creative Awards notes, everyone's impression posts are a lifeline... Even just a "I read it!" makes me super happy! Please do it!!
For those who are writing a lot right now, or those in the middle of a final push, when your hands stop, reading something is absolutely, totally fine!!!!
It might become noise in your thinking if it's the same genre, but reading works from completely different categories or essays might clear your brain a bit. Changing perspectives is important. Fatigue recovery! Restarting is important!
Two sides of the same coin, if we can enjoy both reading and writing, it's the best, isn't it!!
Well then, have a great creative life!!!
See ya!
The end.
