note de Noël｜Day 28/66

A morning where the kettle whistles softly and steam rises.
Wrapping my hands around a mug, I let out a sigh.
Just that is enough to loosen the tension in my shoulders and create a little space in the day.

A breather isn't a signal to stop something,
but a small pit stop to keep going.
Take a deep breath when the washing machine melody plays.
Blink once before turning the page.
Give your heart a little 'it's okay' before opening the front door.

Even at the library counter,
there is a quiet breath between the waves of busyness.
As I gently stroke the spines of books lined up on the return cart,
before welcoming the next person, a silent 'breather'.
That moment brings a kindness more certain than words.

When I return home in the evening,
I match my breath to the bouncy voice saying, 'Hey, listen!'
Even before saying 'itadakimasu' beyond the steam,
there is a brief pause where the sound of cutlery stops.
On the same table, each breather overlaps.

Another small window of the Advent calendar opens.
May the breath you just let out in this moment
light a warm lamp in your day.

Please, today too,don't forget to take a breather.
