My daughter's small hands peek out from her coat sleeves.
She laughs with a cold nose, and grips my hand tightly.
As we hold hands, those hands
quickly turn into 'warming hands'.

Warmth increases when you share it.
In the palm of your hand, the light grows larger.

When sealing a letter, when lifting a pot lid,
when folding laundry, when turning a page—
every daily gesture is a small practice in 'how to warm'.
Just like opening one small window of an advent calendar,
let's pass the light from hand to hand again today.

May a quiet warmth
gently dwell in your hands as well.
