While there are days when I think, 'I have to write something special,'
what truly becomes a light is often a surprisingly ordinary day.

Waking up at the same time in the morning,
being called 'Mom~',
starting the laundry, going to the library, stroking the spines of books,
and hugging my sleepy daughter at night.

Everyday life may seem unchanging,
but in reality, it is a story that is properly different, one line at a time.

Even on days when I served the same meal,
days when I felt a little irritated,
or days when I thought, 'I couldn't write anything today,'
looking back tomorrow, I can think, 'Because of this day, I was able to write the next.'

The words for the Advent calendar,
while they seem like a single word that flashes brightly,
when lined up like this, they are a record of the accumulation of 'everyday' life.

That is why today, I will say it loudly.

May your 'everyday' life
become a light that warms the path to Christmas.
