On winter mornings, the world begins just a little more cautiously.
The light spilling through the gap in the curtains is soft,
gently waking up a room that still feels like it's in a dream.

The sound of a little person asking, 'Mama, are you awake?'
Hair still messy from sleep, warm cheeks.
In that moment, I think, 'Ah, I can start today properly.'

Morning isn't just a division of time;
it might be an invisible signal,
like being told, 'It's okay to live today, too.'

May today's 'morning'
be a time that begins softly for you.
