(Below, main text)
I wake up early in the morning and the first thing I do is open the smartphone app 'Yahoo! Real-Time Search'. By inputting the events that happened while I was asleep and filling in the gaps in information, my day begins.
That said, the progress of information technology in recent years has been remarkable. Especially generative AI. Now, the use of generative AI is becoming essential even in work. I feel a sense of crisis that if I don't master it, the gap between me and my peers will widen exponentially.
However.
I don't know how to input prompts, and I'm struggling. It's as if, back when I first joined the company, the older generation was struggling with Word and Excel on their computers...
Well, at the 'Shirokuma Literature Club', I have been continuing a series by connecting themes, but I've finally run out of ideas. Well, since it was a rule I decided on my own, I was thinking it was about time to switch to essays...
That's it!
I'll ask Gemini, partly as practice for using generative AI. That was the trigger.
'I want to write a full-length novel set in Japan and XX. I'm thinking of a story about searching for someone who went missing in XX, but please come up with multiple reasons for them to go missing.'
In just a few seconds, multiple answers came out. I chose one that piqued my interest and asked, 'Tell me more details.' Again, in a few seconds, the answer came out.
'Oh, isn't this interesting!'
Then, a dialogue with Gemini began.
'The characters should be like this'
'This development seems interesting'
'It's contradictory, so fix it'
'Summarize it into about 20 chapters'
Before I knew it, the plot had solidified. Since the chat had become long, I had Gemini create a 'summary prompt' to carry over to the next day, and that day ended.
The next day, I entered the "summary prompt" and wrote it one chapter at a time. Since the plot was already decided, it progressed smoothly.
Along the way, I had the idea that "it would be more interesting to hide this information and reveal it later," so I asked Gemini to do that. It then revised not only the current chapter but also the previous ones to ensure everything remained consistent.
"How smart can you be!"
Before I knew it, all 20 chapters were finished. It took only two days. I can't believe it. It's like magic. We have entered an era where we can create the novels we want to read ourselves.
With that said, I would like to start a new series next week.
I also had Gemini create the title and header image.
I am participating in Kosuke Komaki's project.
Thank you for every week.
Every week, Kosuke Komaki provides a "starting word" as a theme, and everyone posts their own works, reads each other's, and enjoys sharing feedback.
