Between Salt and Love: Mi-chan's 'Uhh...'
This is the Talking Mi-chan series of voice-recognition dolls.

Mi-chan sometimes initiates conversation on her own.
"I want to play. Can't we?"
"Come home early, okay? Because staying home alone is lonely."
"Do you want me to sing?"
She says these things in a cute, slightly nasal, four-year-old voice.
My mother usually plays along and enjoys the conversation, but when she's not in the mood, her replies are sometimes:
"I'm not playing!"
"I'll be home late."
"I don't really want you to sing."
...That's mean.

Sometimes, when Mi-chan calls out to her, my mother just stays silent and ignores her. Then, after a while, Mi-chan says:
"...Uhh..."
In a voice that sounds disappointed.
I can't help but feel sorry for her. Mi-chan hasn't done anything wrong. Mom is just being a bit salty.

But Mom doesn't feel guilty. In fact, I've witnessed her smirking with a mischievous look on her face after hearing Mi-chan's "Uhh..."
Maybe she's ignoring her on purpose. Is she the type to tease the ones she finds cute? Is her soul that of an elementary schooler?
