Feet, Pelvis, and Breathing Are All Connected: 10 Selected Lessons to Unravel the Tensegrity Structure of the Human Body
Introduction | Feet, Pelvis, and Breathing
These are almost always treated as separate entities.
Feet are feet, the pelvis is the pelvis, and breathing is breathing.
Training and treatment are also mostly discussed in isolation.
However, they should not be considered separately in the first place.
Everything is connected.
The feet are the only point of contact with the ground.
The force received there is transmitted to the pelvis and distributed throughout the entire body.
The pelvis is not just an "intermediate point."
It is a "fulcrum" that receives the tension of the whole body and determines its direction.
And breathing integrates all of this from within.
If the feet collapse, the pelvis loses its function,
If the pelvis stops, breathing becomes shallow,
If breathing is disrupted, the movement of the whole body becomes fragmented.
This is not a coincidence.
It is structured that way.
Generally, the human body is understood as something that "moves with muscles."
However, that is not actually the case.
The human body is a structure established by the compression of bones and the tension of fascia and tendons.
Movement is not about exerting force, but a "phenomenon that appears as a result" of changes in the balance of tension.
When you stand from this perspective, what you see changes.
Why does pain occur?
Why does movement not change?
Why does training one part not improve the whole?
The answer to that lies in the same place for everything.
It is the structure.
Here, I have carefully selected 10 articles to help you understand that structure.
The order does not matter.
Even reading just one should change something.
However, as you read on, I think you will realize.
That everything is connected.
Feet, pelvis, and breathing.
As long as you think of these three separately, you will never reach the essence of the human body.
① | Body wisdom: Feet as the foundation, pelvis as the fulcrum
- Tensegrity and the principles of movement -
The starting point for everything is the feet.
The feet, being the only point of contact with the ground, are not merely a support structure, but an "entry point" that receives tension and distributes it throughout the entire body.
What is received by the feet does not end there.
It is transmitted to the pelvis and manifests as movement of the whole body.
And it is the pelvis that receives that tension and determines its direction.
The pelvis is not "part of the torso," but a fulcrum that integrates the tension of the entire body and creates the axis of movement.

Feet and pelvis.
When this relationship is established, the human body moves without strain.
Conversely, when this coordination breaks down, the burden appears in other places such as the knees or lower back. The problem is not there.
The important points are the feet and the pelvis.
Unless you understand this relationship, your movement will not fundamentally change.
② | The body is made of tension
−A tensegrity structure that runs through breathing, the cranium, the spine, the pelvis, and the feet−
The human body is not a collection of bones and muscles.
It is a structure established by tension.
Bones exist as compression, while fascia and tendons connect the entire body as tension.
When this balance is maintained, the human body remains stable while moving flexibly.
pic.twitter.com/vIKT6Wlsoq https://t.co/PlY2yxYBdi
A change in one place does not remain local.
Because tension is continuous throughout the body, its influence ripples across the whole instantly.
This is not a sensation; it is a structure.
By adopting this perspective,
the mindset shifts from "where should I train?"
to "how is it connected?"
The human body does not move in parts.
Everything is connected.
③ | Clenching is not a "jaw problem"
−The result of a collapsed whole-body structure−
Clenching is thought to be a jaw problem.
Teeth grinding, jaw tension, and overactivity of the masseter muscles.
Because of this, mouthpieces and jaw care are used.
However, that does not change the root cause.
Clenching is not the cause, but the result.
So, what is it the result of?
… https://t.co/PlY2yxYBdi pic.twitter.com/cTPWyVEdUg
It is hypertonicity resulting from the collapse of the whole-body structure.
The tension received by the feet is not distributed well, the pelvis does not move, and the coordination of the whole body is interrupted.
That distortion is concentrated in one place.
That is the jaw.
The jaw becomes thefinal "escape route."The load that should have been distributed is pushed upward and appears in the form of clenching.
In other words, even if you relax your jaw, if the structure does not change, it will repeat.
The problem is not the jaw, but the feet and the pelvis.
And it is the flow of tension within that linkage.
To stop clenching, you do not need to stop chewing, but rather you need to align your structure.
When that changes, the clenching will naturally disappear.
4 | Feet Can Regenerate from Age 50
—A Record of Overcoming Habitual Sprains, Bunions, and Floating Toes on My Own—
Feet are thought to be something that wears out.
That they collapse and deform with age and never return to their original state.
However, that is not a structural issue, but a usage issue.
The feet are not just extremities.
They are the gateway that receives and distributes the tension of the entire body.
When that gateway collapses, it manifests as "shapes" such as bunions or floating toes.

In other words, those are not the cause.
They are the result.
If the structure is aligned starting from the toes, the entire foot will change.
This record is not a theory.
It is the process of reviewing and reconstructing the structure of my feet after passing the age of 50.
And that change ripples out to the pelvis and the entire movement.
The human body does not just break down.
If the conditions are met, it regenerates.
5 | Is Being Unable to Bend Forward Because Your Body Is Stiff?
—The "True Hip Hinge" I Learned at 50—
The reason you cannot bend forward is not flexibility.
Many people think their "body is stiff."
However, the problem is not the range of motion, but the structure.
The pelvis is not moving.
In that state, the lower back and spine are compensating.
As a result, the phenomenon of being 'stiff' appears.

Essentially, a forward bend is a movement of the pelvis.
The hip hinge is not just a simple movement.
It is a structure for correctly redistributing the tension transmitted from the feet to the pelvis.
When this structure is established, the body moves naturally without needing to force a stretch.
Do not make it soft; align it.
When you realize that difference, the quality of your movement changes significantly.
⑥ | Performance changes drastically with soccer's dual-axis movement
− Kicking, Lifting, Spinning −
Tensegrity is not something that ends with theory.
Its value is revealed precisely within the competition of athletes.
What is important in soccer is not exerting force, but transmitting it.
Many players try to exert force by bracing on a single axis.
However, that causes the structure to collapse, and the force is lost along the way.
Dual-axis movement is a technique for flowing tension throughout the entire body without breaking it.
From the feet to the pelvis, from the pelvis to the upper body.
When that coordination is maintained, force is transmitted effortlessly.
As a result, speed, stability, and reproducibility all change.
You are not changing the movement.
You are aligning the structure.
⑦ | Yoshinobu Yamamoto: The Ultimate Tensegrity
− Design of tension beyond muscular strength −
The movements of top athletes cannot be explained by muscle strength alone.
The pitching of MLB Los Angeles Dodgers player Yoshinobu Yamamoto is fast even though he is not straining.
It is not a matter of output, but a matter of structure.
The tension received by the feet is transmitted through the pelvis to the upper body and released into the ball without being fragmented.
He is not forcing power out from any single point.
The overall tension balance is aligned, and it works in perfect coordination.

As a result, that speed and reproducibility of control are born.
His body is not just trained; it is designed.
Tensegrity is not just a theory.
It is already being implemented at the highest level.
⑧ | The cause of pain is hardened “muscles”
—Why do muscles become hard?—
Pain is not the cause.
It is the result.
In many cases, it is thought that the problem lies in the “painful area.”
However, that is merely where the result is appearing.
The cause of the pain, muscle contracture (muscle hardness), is because the burden is concentrated there.

pic.twitter.com/Z1dPhYEnYk https://t.co/odBFIlO0Y7
Then, why does the burden concentrate?
Because the structure has collapsed.
When the coordination between the feet and the pelvis is lost and the flow of tension is interrupted, that distortion appears in one place or another.
That is felt as “muscle hardness” and eventually turns into pain.
No matter how much you loosen the local area, the root cause does not change.
The cause lies in the structure.
⑨ | Reactivation® and Human Body Tensegrity
−Lost functions are not 'trained,' but 'recalled'−
The human body is not something to be merely trained.
Unexplained discomfort may simply be because inherent functions are no longer being used.
When the connection between the feet and pelvis is broken and the flow of tension stops, movement becomes fragmented.
If you try to compensate for this with muscle strength, the structure will collapse even further.

… https://t.co/dopX4Jw0CL pic.twitter.com/BkMm2hgOag
What is needed is not strengthening.
Reactivation is what is needed.
Reactivation® is the process of regaining lost coordination.
When the flow of tension is restored, the body begins to function naturally.
Do not change it; return it.
That is the original approach.
⑩ | Tensegrity and Breathing
−The diaphragm integrates an athlete's movements−
Breathing is not something special.
It is just a result.
When the tension balance of the feet, pelvis, and the entire body is aligned, breathing naturally aligns itself.
Conversely, when the structure collapses, breathing becomes disordered.

Even if you try to change your breathing, nothing will change just by doing that.
The cause lies in the structure.
However, at the same time, breathing is also the indicator that most accurately reflects that state.
If you look at breathing, you understand the body.
And when the structure is aligned, breathing changes.
Everything converges here.
Final Chapter | Everything is Connected
If you have read this far, you must already feel it.
Feet, pelvis, breathing.
They are not independent; they are all connected as a single structure.
The human body is not a collection of parts.
What is received by the feet is transmitted to the pelvis and distributed throughout the entire body.
That chain reaction manifests as breathing.
Everything is a result.
Even if you try to change one place, the essence will not change unless the whole changes.
What is needed is not strengthening, but understanding.
And understanding is not knowledge, but feeling it as your own body.
The 10 articles listed here are merely an entrance to that.
You may read them in any order.
However, as you read on, you will surely arrive at the same place.
Everything is connected—that is.
For those who wish to understand more deeply, please take a look at the magazine.
Notice 1 | For those suffering from physical discomfort
Tests show no abnormalities.
Even after resting or exercising, it does not improve easily.
Such "discomfort" may be caused by the body's overall balance (tensegrity) being disrupted because muscles are stiff and contracted.
In many cases, the problem is not a major injury or widespread malfunction, but small muscle stiffness (muscle contracture/trigger points) remaining in a very small area.

… https://t.co/hIt7e0Ze3E pic.twitter.com/eeZJI9keLa
When these small contractures are scattered throughout the body,
the movement of the pelvis is restricted
the body's axis becomes unstable
and the burden is concentrated on the extremities such as the shoulders, elbows, hands, and feet
In that state, no matter how much you exercise or relearn posture and movement,
the original connectivity of the body will not return.
What we do first is not to train the whole body, nor is it to forcibly reconstruct how you move.
By using muscle tuning to pinpoint and remove the single muscle contracture that is destroying your structure.
With just that, the body will naturally regain its coordination.
Without taking unnecessary detours, we call back the mechanisms the body inherently possesses.
We believe this is the shortest path approach.
Through muscle tuning and reactivation, we restore the supple physical balance that humans naturally possess.
Before fixing your technique.
Before changing the direction of your efforts.
We start by restoring the structure first.

Information on Noto Reconstruction Support Charity T-shirts
On New Year's Day 2024, Noto, my wife's hometown, was shaken significantly by an earthquake.
A year and a half has passed since then.
While media coverage has decreased, reconstruction is not progressing as hoped.
To ensure it is not treated as "something that is already over," we created charity T-shirts.
It is a small prayer from two brands: Growith, which I operate, and ima, which my wife launched.

■ Recommended note Magazines
This is a collection magazine for the overview and related notes of the conditioning method for professional athletes "MTR Method®︎". Including muscle tuning (care), nutritional strategy (Growith), and body manipulation (reactivation), we have provided full support to over 200 professional soccer players in total. Thanks to you, the number of youth players using our services is also increasing.
We are reconstructing the human tensegrity theory cultivated through supporting soccer players in light of the competitive characteristics of baseball. Starting with support for an active Major League pitcher, we are currently expanding to NPB players as well. We do not treat pitching and batting merely as problems of form, but decipher them from the causal relationships of body structure, such as skeletal alignment, tension linkage, muscle contracture, and the relationship between translation and rotation.
The human body is not a "collection of parts" made by stacking bones and muscles. It exists as a tensegrity structure where tension and compression are balanced throughout. Through the feet, pelvis, spine, diaphragm, blood flow, breathing, etc., we decipher the human body as a "structure." By understanding the principles that exist before symptoms and technical theories, the way you see the body itself changes. We have compiled the thinking and knowledge for that purpose.
The Orthomolecular Nutrition Therapy note magazine is a specialized magazine that explains nutritional strategies to tune the body at the molecular level. We scientifically unravel the functions of vitamins, minerals, proteins, etc., and introduce the latest knowledge and practical methods in an easy-to-understand manner. We deliver "wisdom to optimize the body through nutrition" that is useful for fatigue recovery, performance improvement, and disease prevention, along with examples from daily life and athletes.
The Muscle Tuning & Body Manipulation note magazine is a magazine that views the body not as parts but as an overall connection, and transmits a unique perspective for tuning muscles, skeleton, and nerves. We systematically explain everything from fundamental improvement of pain and discomfort to movement efficiency and performance improvement in sports. We practically unravel the latest body theories such as tensegrity structure, pelvic function, and two-axis movement, supporting the creation of a body that anyone can move supplely.
This is a record of "double operation" where I, a father of four who worked from home for a long time, balanced work and child-rearing simultaneously. Based on the wisdom cultivated as a human body researcher, I explore the process of "children growing on their own" from the balance of mind, body, and environment.
A record of child-rearing experiments through learning and realization.
A woman's body changes significantly depending on hormonal cycles and life stages. In this magazine, we have covered a wide range of themes unique to women, such as menstruation, menopause, pregnancy, childbirth, child-rearing, nutrition, pelvic care, and mental health. We have compiled content where you can systematically learn the wisdom to tune your body.
If the body is tuned, the mind is also tuned.
In this magazine, we explore perspectives for keeping the mind healthy while observing daily thinking habits and emotional fluctuations. Not leaning toward positive thinking, but valuing the middle path. How to accept and how to let go of social toxins and stress. While unraveling the delicate connection between body and mind, we deliver thinking methods and mental states for living more naturally.
The Mitochondria Story note magazine is a magazine that digs deep into the multifaceted roles of mitochondria, known as the "power plants of life," such as energy metabolism, aging, endurance, and immunity. We explain everything from the history of symbiotic evolution to the latest research and how to utilize them in daily life in an easy-to-understand manner. We explore ways to "increase and utilize" them through nutrition, exercise, breathing, etc., and deliver wisdom that fundamentally supports health and performance.
From physical condition management to performance improvement, the foundation of everything is "nutrition." In this magazine, we have systematically compiled multifaceted nutritional strategies such as intestinal environment, minerals, vitamins, and proteins. We have included paid articles for fundamentally tuning the body, from general health-conscious people to athletes.
The gut is called the "second brain" and influences immunity, nutrition, and mental health. In this magazine, we summarize the latest knowledge on the functions of intestinal bacteria and the gut-brain correlation, providing learning for fundamentally tuning the body. Covering everything from fermented foods and meals to how to choose supplements, we have included content useful for a wide range of people, from health-conscious individuals to athletes.
Human thoughts unconsciously guide actions and choices, eventually shaping reality. In this magazine, we have systematically explained the theme that "thoughts materialize," incorporating quantum mechanical perspectives, brain science, and the functions of the autonomic nervous system and hormones. This is content we want those aiming for self-realization or mental strengthening, and those who want to take a step forward in life or competition, to learn.
