Work Title & Partial Content Introduction! Yadorigi Bunko's New ZINE "Nomasaru" to be Released in July 2026
This summer, Yadorigi Bunko will publish an omnibus about alcohol titled "Nomasaru". "Nomasaru" is a dialect primarily used in the Hokkaido and Tohoku regions, expressing a situation where one "ends up drinking (because it's so delicious)" or "cannot help but keep drinking regardless of one's own will."
The ZINE "Nomasaru" is a book containing essays and short stories about alcohol written by Yadorigi-ya members and guest writers—writings that make you want to drink, writings that make you feel intoxicated.

Alcohol comes in various types and flavors, and it shows truly rich and different expressions depending on conditions such as what you pair it with or who you drink with. That is the charm of alcohol. I thought that by using alcohol as a theme, the individuality of the writers would be easier to convey.
…I am listing plausible reasons, but to be honest, the biggest reason is that I, Yadorigi, the founder of Yadorigi Bunko, am a huge alcohol lover. I have long envisioned putting together a volume themed around alcohol.
Now, in the note published on June 1, 2026, we announced the writers for "Nomasaru", but in this note, we will introduce the titles and some content of each work. If you are wondering, "What kind of content is an omnibus ZINE about alcohol?", please take a look.

(Below, author names are introduced without honorifics)

Although there was no prior coordination, memories of our younger days gathered by chance.
We present these four pieces that, despite having different subjects and narrative styles, somehow resonate with each other.

Short Stories

These are romantic stories that are so compelling they could be called "drink-inducing" literature, where alcohol is the protagonist.
At home, or at a bar. With a drink in hand, please get intoxicated by the world of these stories.
"Hon-ne Sake (True Feelings Sake)" (Author: Mochimochi)
Koji Murata, a salesman at Yumemaru Trading, secretly had feelings for Reiko Koyanagi from the accounting department. One day, Murata is put in charge of the new employee welcome party. At the izakaya venue, there is a mysterious sake called "Hon-ne Sake" that makes you speak your true feelings that you usually can't say when you drink it—a romantic comedy about a man trying his best to convey his feelings to the woman he likes.
"Premium Whisky 'Future'" (Author: Kotobuki Subaru)
Miyu, a 22-year-old office worker, happens to get her hands on three bottles of whisky called "Future." It is said that if you drink it while thinking of someone, you can see your life 10, 25, and 50 years later if you were to marry that person. If you know the future, can you grasp happiness? The three bottles of whisky are running low, and finally—a romantic short story that expressively depicts the heart of a woman wavering between expectation and anxiety.
"Waiting for the Dawn" (Author: Yadorigi Yukiju)
The setting is the early Meiji period. In a mountainous area of Niigata where the sounds of civilization and enlightenment have not yet reached, Sumi runs a shop serving local cuisine and local sake. One night, a beautiful "foreigner" wearing a pitch-black coat visits Sumi's shop—a fairy tale-like story that depicts a mysterious world with a soft and precise touch.
Tanka

What is depicted in thirty-one syllables is a slightly more mature world where alcohol is close at hand.
Tanka overlaps with the memories of each reader, reflecting different scenes.

Book Introduction

Are there any books that come to mind when you hear the words "alcohol" or "getting drunk"?
We introduce "books that can make you drunk," discussed from four different perspectives.
"Good sake doesn't travel, it lets me travel"
(Author: ayan)
"A love story that visits an ordinary life, without a paradise lost hotpot"
(Author: ERIKO)
"Drowning in the queen of creation, a drunken experience of words"
(Author: Yukiki Yadorigi)
"A lonely and refreshing novel that suits a gin and tonic"
(Author: Kanna Enari)
Fun at the End of Chapters & the Book

In addition, there is plenty of content, such as the "Drunkard Roundtable Discussion" where Yadorigi-ya members speak their true feelings while drinking, and the "Delusional Nomasaru Tavern" where members who love alcohol brainstormed, "I wish there was an izakaya with a menu like this!"
We are confident that this content will be enjoyable for those who love alcohol. And for those who do not drink, we hope you can experience the feeling of being "intoxicated by the writing."
