[Reflection] By stopping and resetting, I can move forward again. A week of re-examining space and direction. [Weekly yasu May 17th Issue]
Hello, this is yasu.
Before I knew it, mid-May has passed, and it has become a season of dazzling fresh green.
How is everyone doing?
Last week was a bit of a hectic week.
While being chased by what was right in front of me, I had many opportunities to stop and think about my own way of working and the rhythm of my life.
In this "Weekly yasu," I would like to look back on the realizations and changes of the past few days.
This week's highlights
Last week, I was busy with CrowdWorks projects and spent my days literally "hectic."
I am grateful for it, but as my schedule filled up like a puzzle, there were moments when I suddenly felt suffocated.
If I fill my day only with "things to do," no fresh breeze enters my heart.
What I realized again is the importance of "space."
Time to do nothing, or time to face things that are not urgent but important.
I felt keenly that it is because of such gaps that the quality of work improves, and above all, I can stay healthy myself.
Re-examining the direction of WAY
In between the busyness, I took time to re-examine the direction of "WAY," which is the axis of my activities.
Is the path I have been taking correct?
What is the value I really want to deliver?
It is necessary not only to keep running but also to check the compass at times.
As a result, I was able to relax my shoulders a little and return to the starting point of "let's cultivate things I can truly empathize with at my own pace."
Encounter and utilization of Genspark
A topic from last week that cannot be missed is the encounter with the new tool "Genspark."
I feel very interesting possibilities in information gathering and organizing thoughts.
I have only just started touching it, but I think I will be able to make great use of it as a partner for daily research and brainstorming ideas.
It is exciting to encounter new technology.
Facing detailed practical work
In addition to handling projects, it was a week where I steadily advanced detailed practical work.
In email correspondence with clients through CrowdWorks, I tried to communicate politely and promptly.
Also, the creation of the note article that I publish regularly was completed safely.
Furthermore, I took some time to "review subscription costs."
By canceling services I no longer use and slimming down expenses, I feel like one piece of noise in my thinking has decreased.
Time to touch nature
Between work, I consciously made time to "touch nature."
I visited zoos and botanical gardens and walked around slowly.
Also, I worked on gardening at home.
When I smell the earth and look at the lush green leaves of plants, I can feel my mind and body, which had been stiff from staring at a PC screen, gradually loosening up.
This time was, for me, irreplaceable "space" itself.
A new routine using Google Calendar
Following this reflection, I started a new experiment over the weekend.
It is to pre-schedule not only "work tasks" but also "space time" and "routines that bring ease" into my Google Calendar.
Time for reading, time for walking, time for just zoning out.
Instead of doing these in "spare time," I am securing them as "appointments."
This is creating a comfortable rhythm in my daily life.
"Resetting" is not just about your desk or work; I felt that it is also about resetting the rhythm of your mind and breathing.
This week's "Point-Addition Method" review
If I were to give myself a gold star for this week, it would first be for not being afraid to stop.
Instead of just processing what is in front of me,
"Is this really okay?"
"How do I want to be?"
Re-examining these questions had great significance.
Organizing the direction of my WAY.
Starting to rethink how I interact with AI.
Visualizing subscription costs and being able to judge what is necessary and unnecessary.
Starting to create a routine to protect my space using Google Calendar.
Consciously incorporating time to touch nature into my life.
None of these are flashy, but I think they were steps that will become the foundation for the future.
Articles published this week
This week, I published two articles with the theme of "clearing your head" and "reclaiming mental space."
I summarized a perspective on how to handle the heaviness often felt after the holidays, not as a matter of willpower or grit, but by reframing it as the volume of information and number of decisions in one's head, and adjusting it reasonably while using AI as a partner.
Reflecting on the silence I felt during my trip to Tohoku and the experience of things not going as planned at work, this article re-examines what I truly want to cherish in days that cannot be set right by efficiency alone.
Looking back now, these two pieces were content that returned to me, the person I am this week.
Through writing, my own thoughts gradually become clearer.
It was a week with that kind of feeling.

Conclusion
This week wasn't so much about making a lot of progress, but rathera week of getting organized to move forward from hereon.
Precisely because I was about to be swept away by busyness,
I realized the importance of margins,
re-examined the direction of my WAY,
thought about how to interact with AI,
organized how I spend my money and time,
and regained my breath while touching nature.
I believe that each of these things will lead to the next version of myself.
If there is anyone right now who feels a bit overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle,
please, before you 'try harder',take some time to get organizeda little.
And if there was even one thing you were able to do this week,
please be sure to give yourselfa little gold star.
