1st Anniversary of Posting: What 365 Days of Small Diary Entries Have Taught Me

To those meeting me for the first time,
and to those who have been reading for a long time.

Hello.
I wake up at 4:00 every morning,
enjoying my quiet bonus time,
I am MaRu, a mother of two.

My note journey began on January 19, 2025.

Before I knew it, I had 402 posts.
I have been weaving words together.

Things that changed over this past year.
Things that did not change.
And, things I realized.

While looking back on the trajectory of this year,
I will introduce 6 diary entries that gathered 'likes'.

Please feel free to take a look,
starting with whichever one interests you.

Introduction

There are almost no special events
like those that happen in books, dramas, or movies.

Mornings spent with my children.
The busy time before work.
The moment at night when I quietly end the day.

I have written down exactly as they are
the moments when my heart wavered a little,
or the feelings I thought, 'I want to cherish this.'

Even so, the words remained,
and little by little, they reached someone.

What made me happiest wasn't the numbers.
The charm of note is,that the articles you write remain there.

Even after time passes, someone might suddenly find them,
empathize with them, or find them useful.

That cycle of words
is the reason I cherish continuing my daily records.

6 Diary Entries That Remained in My Heart This Year

From among the 402 posts,
I chose the diary entries that received many 'likes'.

I will tell you in advance,
none of these are special days.

They are just moments when my heart was moved in the midst of daily life.
They are all just things I quietly wrote down,
small happinesses and realizations.

Everyone has
a gap between their public self and their home self, right?

Theoutside faceI saw during nursery school participation and interviews.

The regret of losing my temper over a promise,
and the relief the teacher's words gave me.

Trusting and waiting for a child is not easy.

Even so, I wrote about the movement of a parent's heart
who chooses to 'watch over' them.

I was awake at 4:00, but
I had a slow morning.

A choice not to push myself between my physical condition and my schedule.

Organizing one's life
is not about packing in plans,

but perhaps about creating the kind of margin
where you can get absorbed in what you love.

'You're in your final year of preschool, so you don't need to be carried, right?'

A casual conversation at work taught me this.

The reality of parenting is hard to share
if you aren't looking at the same scenery.

What is considered 'normal' differs from person to person.

That is precisely why, rather than the eyes of those around me,
I want to protect the warmth of my family.

Because there is a time limit to being carried,
I want to engrave this'now'when I am still carrying them
into my heart.

'It made a popping sound!'A discovery like that.

The day that innocent surprise
overlapped with my own senses as I continue to write.

What grows by continuing to write on note
is not just writing ability,
but the eyes to pick up daily life as a discovery.

Each one is a small sound,
but when they add up, they become a pleasant sound.

There is scenery you can only see as you continue.

Hiring a professional for deep cleaning.
The nervousness of letting a stranger into the house.
The guilt of letting go of housework.

But, with the time created by leaving it to a professional,
each family member spent a fulfilling time.

Thanks to that, I was able to witness my eldest daughter'smoment of friendship.
'Letting go' might be the entrance to richness.

The event my daughters told me about
with excitement that hadn't cooled down after returning from camp.

Learning that isn't just about technique.
The heart that grows while spending time with friends.

Beyond technique, there is such great learning.

All a parent can do is send them off, trust them, and wait.
A story about children growing in places we cannot see.

Actually...

This is not the first timeI have compiled 'small diary entries that gathered likes'like this.
Six months ago, when I managed to continue daily posting for 6 months,

I collected diary entries in the same way.
Back then, I was still feeling my way around.

While I was happy that I 'could continue,'
I was always feeling anxious somewhere.
Even so, every time I put

the small events of daily life into words,
there were people who read them,

likes were delivered, and comments were left.

I feel like I was confirming the reason for writing little by little.
If you'd like, please read this

as if comparing me now at the 1-year mark
with me at the 6-month mark.
I think you will see that even in the same daily life,

the scenery I am seeing has changed just a little bit.

3 Things I Realized in 365 Days

① Small realizations definitely chain together

At first, it was a record for myself.
I feel that rather than writing skill, how I face myselfhas become deeper.
Because I became able to look at my emotions without blaming them.

A year where I became able to think that it is okay to put things into words,

and that even days when I can't do it are 'my daily life.'
But, through the comments, likes,

tips, and messages I received,
I learned that my small daily life

is close to someone's heart.
Those many words

become my encouragement again, and I can continue.
A chain of realizations was definitely born.

② By putting things into words, daily life begins to shine
Carefully observing every day and putting it into words.

Leaving the usual daily life in print.
That repetition

turns the flowing days into 'precious days,'
and there was such affection in it,
as if it had become a special year.
My daughter's smile, morning coffee, the evening sky.

By consciously looking at them,

the small happinesses in life
gently emerge.

Words don't just record daily life.

They have the power to make daily life shine.
That is what I think.

③ Continuation becomes trust in oneself
I have continued updating for 365 days.

Weaving words in quiet time.

It has become a certain confidencethat 'I can continue.'
It doesn't have to be perfect.

There are days when I can't write well.
Even so, cherishing the days.

I think that continuing to make that small promise to myself

became trust in myself.

I will continue to write small diary entries from here on out

One year ago, I wrote my first note.
Now, I have over 400 posts.

My little diary has been read by
more people than I ever imagined.

That person is always
reading it, just as they always have.

The trace that someone has truly read it.
That made me happier than anything else.

Through these interactions, note has
become an even more irreplaceable
and precious place for me.

But what has changed the most
might be my own perspective on life. That in everyday life, there are so many

precious moments. And that by putting them into words, I canconnect with someone and be there for them.

This past year has taught me that.

Thank you, and here is to the future

The reason I have been able to continue this far
is because there were people who supported me.

The likes, comments, and follows you gave me.
The tips, sharing my articles, and adding them to magazines,
all of that has been my encouragement.

Especially to everyone who
interacted with me through comments and messages.

Your words
made my mornings warm.

With heartfelt gratitude.
Thank you so much.

I want to continue weaving words as I always have.

Hoping that my realizations connect to yours
and can be of some help to someone.

Small changes and feelings I might otherwise forget,
precious moments that pass by in a rush.

If each of those days
could gently accompany someone's present and future,

that is the reason I continue to write on note.

This has become very long, but

small happiness in your days.
