The Night Yume and Luna Started Moving: A Production Diary of 3 Pollo AI Animated Videos

Introduction

When I looked at the screen, I couldn't help but gasp.

Yume's blonde hair was swaying.
Luna's cat ears were moving.

The characters I created myself were truly alive within a 30-second story.

It was only recently that I tried out Pollo AI's animated video feature.

I made three short animated videos with a healing theme, and I am recording that experience here.

Encountering the Animated Video Mode

I have been using Pollo AI for a while. When I opened it after a long time, the interface had changed.

Previously, you chose Story Video themes from a list, but now you select a style, and an "Animated Video" mode has been added among them.

You can upload character images and specify them in the prompt using @image1 or @image2. It is a feature that allows you to animate your own characters directly.

I thought I had to try this, and I started working on it right away.

The Protagonists This Time: Yume and Luna

There are two characters appearing in this video.

・Yume: Long blonde hair, purple eyes, purple dress. A fortune-telling writer wearing moon and star accessories. Quiet and gentle.
・Luna: Silver hair, cat-ear hood, purple cape. A small moon spirit holding a crystal ball. Full of curiosity and energy.

By uploading each image to Pollo AI and specifying them as @image1 and @image2, you can make them appear in the video.

Video 1: Gift of the Moon × Ghibli

A story for a sleepless night.

Luna comes to bring a glowing stone to Yume, who is gazing blankly at the full moon by the window. The moment she receives the stone, the entire room is wrapped in a warm light.

Impressions

The stillness of the room at night and the texture of the light turned out very soft. From the wooden bookshelf and the full moon visible through the window, to the rabbit plushie in the corner of the room—that atmosphere was moving just as it was.

Video 2: Star Map × Shojo Manga Style

A story of a night when I lost my way.

Luna appears to Yume, who is looking down in the night forest, covered in stardust. The star map she draws in the air with her fingertips lights the way for the two of them.

Impressions

The scene where petals and stars dance turned out especially beautiful. The sparkling effects and the interaction between the two had that lingering charm typical of shojo manga.

The fact that Luna had wings in the final scene was a detail I didn't write in the prompt. Perhaps it decided that "spirits have wings." It was unexpected, but it blended naturally into the footage.

Video 3: Healing Spring × Pixar

A story of a night when the heart relaxes.

Luna, who was walking in the forest, finds a glowing spring and beckons Yume over. The moment she dips her hand into the spring, a gentle warmth spreads, and Yume's expression softens.

Impressions

The three-dimensionality and richness of color were impressive. The iridescent ripples, the heart effects, and the final fountain scene. The balance of height between Yume and Luna was also natural, and the level of completion was such that you could tell their different personalities just from the video.

📝 To be honest

There is one thing I want to write honestly.

There were times when the AI incorrectly generated the size of the characters. Scenes would appear where Luna looked larger than intended, or unintended effects would be added.

What I realized through trial and error was the importance of carefully conveying details in the prompt. Just by adding a phrase like "a small child about the height of Yume's chest," the sense of scale became much more natural.

It might not be a tool that can be perfectly controlled. But the way the video changes with just a choice of words—I feel that the fun of that interaction is what Pollo AI animated videos are all about.

Summary

The experience of seeing my own characters move was more special than I had imagined.

Rather than aiming for perfect visuals, perhaps the best way to use Pollo AI for animated videos is to turn your own worldview into a 30-second story and share it.
