I've collected short stories with heavy emotions!
I think many people are interested in the unsettling feelings and dark secrets of others.
Even in TV dramas, shows that expose the dark sides of doctors, lawyers, and celebrities, or those with extreme content that destroys people's families, tend to have high ratings.
People don't talk about it openly, and while saying "I'm not really into that," they still watch it religiously every week.
The misfortune of others is sweet, and the dark secrets of others are fascinating.
While feeling relieved that it's not just you, aren't there also many people who hold back because they don't want to be thought of as someone interested in such things?
However, there are people who say they want to see it on purpose.
There are brave souls who raise their voices and say, "I love that kind of stuff!"
Well then, why not jump on the bandwagon with those people and take a peek together!
Valentine's Day is about entrusting heavy feelings like love to food and having others eat it.
I've collected heavy-emotion, dark, unsettling bromance and BL stories for this unsettling day where such heavy emotions lurk in the shadows!
Kashiko-san, who readily agreed to this project, is a brave soul who can proudly say, "I love this!"
Why don't you, who usually avoids such things, hide behind me—who jumped on the bandwagon—and everyone else who agreed and contributed stories, and take a peek together to satisfy your curiosity?
This time's theme

I have posted an introduction to each noter who participated in the pinned article at the top, so please fly over to your favorite noters and interact with them!
Below is the introduction of the challengers' articles (in order of entry)
In addition to this novel, they are active in various novels and essays!
First-time challenger! "Tsuki wa Higashi ni"-san
Yosa Buson loved Basho so much that he went on a pilgrimage to the sacred sites from Northern Kanto to Tohoku; he is the mirror of a fan, and in the Edo period, no less.
Buson-senpai is truly amazing.
Even though their name is a haiku by Yosa Buson, "Tsuki wa Higashi ni"-san mainly writes tanka! They write a wide range of works from business novels to BL!
The clarity of their sentence cutting and word selection, and the realistic writing where human-like worries and conflicts coexist with rhythmic dialogue, feels as good as stepping on frost pillars in winter.
While I think their business writing is rational, understanding "what is necessary" to get what they want or achieve their ideals, love is an eternal theme, so they struggle properly in their romance novels.
If you consider yourself a realist, it might just pierce your heart.
I like Torahiko Terada's "Things I like: strawberries, coffee, flowers, beautiful women | standing with hands in pockets, watching the universe."
Tanka and haiku have a nice clarity to them!
Personally, I like the short stories "Fragments of Stars" and "When Spring Comes".
They can be read as fast as konpeito candy melts, and they make you go "Hmm," so please read them!
Come to think of it, since it starts with "Nanohana ya~" (Rapeseed blossoms), the season is almost here! Though when I recite it, it just turns into Kansai dialect.
🌙
I thought it might come from the "Shiosai to Hidamari" series they are writing as a serial, and it did! They also included the main story in the side story article! This is also good; I like the older brother, Nao-kun.
Two novels, and also! They wrote a tanka too!
Oh my, I'm so happy! This is my first time for something like this!
Whoa, what a sudden start?! I read it while feeling anxious from the morning; everyone, be careful of your surroundings when reading on the train!
The second piece that added heavy emotions and romance through a gaze!
The reason why Aoi Mizuhara "became a doll" really hits home. And Sawano! Hey, Sawano!
At first, it starts with a casual gaze during class, and then it tones down into an unsettling feeling that digs into the deep parts of humanity.
Everyone read it, it's packed with erotic tanka and BL-style arrogant super-dandy men.
No, this is an arrogant tanka!
First-time challenger! "Tempp@Iisarasuiru."-san
Tempp's novels have perfect infrastructure and are so interesting!
Site MapAlong with introductions to the books published, there's also a map of the fictional city from the main novel!
The site map also describes the sense of distance in relationships within social media, so please give it a read.
A good sense of distance is different for everyone! It's sincere to communicate it clearly, and it gives a glimpse into their personality.
But, the fact that you've managed to come to my project means, if you're a fool who dances and a fool who watches, you're a fool either way, so you might as well dance! We've gained a fun new companion!
I never get tired of looking at the map of Kozu, the fictional city from their main novel, and after reading the novel, I can trace the map to find where the story took place, which makes it twice as fun.
The novels range from historical to modern, BL, high fantasy, and horror, covering a wide variety of genres, and the writing style calmly chronicles 'what happened'.
Personally, I like the horror story 'Kyokotsu Benryu: Meiji Fantasy Tale'. You can feel their high pride in the settings crafted according to the era and genre, but the prose is gentle, and it's somewhat mysterious and humanistic.
For 'Rambling thoughts on movies', they include a recommendation score out of 10, and I quite like this. They seem to accept dissenting opinions, but I don't have any for now. Mad Heidi, it's definitely horror because they aren't young.
They also draw all the header illustrations for the articles themselves!
🗺️
I was caught off guard by this sense of unease too!
The densely written descriptions of gazes and the fading vitality are strangely erotic. It's a work where you can also glimpse the author's view on life and death!
There used to be unsettling Japanese films like this in the past, but I haven't seen them lately, so it somehow made me feel nostalgic!
Make sure to check the map at the end!
First-time challenger! Yoshidanreshika / Okutsu Uryu-san
Believe it or not, there was a last-minute entry right at 10:00 PM on February 13th!
Yoshida-san is the one who supports Shoin Yoshida! Oh, but when it comes to novels, it's Okutsu-san, and for tanka, it's Yoshidanreshika-san. Everyone, it's surely Okutsu-san!
But they said I can call them whatever I like! What should I do? Can I call you 'Boku-chin'?
Due to time constraints, I haven't read many of their works, but although they support Shoin Yoshida, they don't necessarily like or respect him, yet it seems Shoin Yoshida is the source of Boku-chin's ideas.
It's somehow profound.
There is an article that explains it well, so please read it. If I may say so, the conflict is interesting!
Also, 'The story of making an acrylic stand of my favorite character' is also good. 'An acrylic stand of Shoin Yoshida that arrives in 3 days' is too much of a power word.
Since they write scripts and are exposed to various types of writing, they use humorous and easy-to-understand prose... you can learn about Shoin Yoshida. It's good before a test; even I, who can't fight Japanese history with muscle and don't memorize it, and who probably knows more about Perry than Japan, can understand it!
Phew, this is the first time I've typed 'Shoin Yoshida' so many times; I feel refreshed with a mysterious sense of exhilaration.
Also! The novels look delicious. The composition of the food photos is also beautiful, and they look tasty 🤤
🐲
The sense of unease drifts in from the moment the setting is revealed to be ballet, but nothing as cliché as having shoes hidden happens!
It feels like time isn't flowing, but then the timeline shifts all at once, and you get swept up in the waves of the development; the story as a whole is like the ebb and flow of the tide, calming down at the end.
But, wait, this is an interlude, right?! My back straightened up at the end!
First-time challenger! 'syo⭐︎'-san
A shy young lady was hiding secretly! I was moved by the sudden boldness of her hesitating and then sending me a direct DM, and since Valentine's Day isn't over yet, I slid in to collect it!
It seems she likes heart-throbbing youth stories! She also has '5minute stories you can read' published on Everystar! You can also jump to it from her self-introduction!
It's brave of her to suddenly join a crazy project like mine when she's only just started on note!
It seems interaction might be slow, but since she's joined, please enjoy interacting with everyone at your own pace without pushing yourself!
It's okay, everyone has their quirks, but they won't eat you!
🐢
'Hey, mister, won't you lock me up?'
I was already curious about what that meant, so I kept reading!
From the simple entry into the story, an unsettling atmosphere mixes in, and the true nature of the characters is revealed little by little!
Love at first sight? Is it love at first sight... no, I shouldn't say too much, or I'll spoil the fun for the readers!
The project proposer this time, 'Kashiko'-san
Well, it's more like I adopted it on my own and got her consent! Kashiko-jo, who has been energetic since last year, is continuing to be active this year! She's finished moving, and with the tidying up mostly done, she's enjoying writing and spending time with her writing friends!
And she bought chocolate for herself, looking forward to this day more than anyone! It seems this project is the thing she's been happiest about since the start of the year! Is Kashiko's 2025 already ending in mid-February? Well, if there are no regrets, it doesn't matter if it ends!
Long live the heavy emotions of the gluttonous Kashiko! The curtain rises now!
🍫
Kashiko 2025, who pulled off a Flying Valentine, or 'Flying V' for short!
You're invited to the mansion of a beautiful brother and sister after school on Valentine's Day and receive a handmade chocolate cake, but...?
It's a bromance with a mystery tone, like an opera of cake layered with unease upon unease!
There are people who like this worldview! Though I personally like the bossy girls Kashiko-jo writes! I like the '~kashira' tone.
Entry No. 1: Shigure-san!
Shigure-san, who spent their birthday basking in the afterglow of their beloved Kenshi Yonezu's concert! Isn't your range of fandom activities a bit too wide? You're also submitting to public contests at such a dizzying speed!
People who can churn out short stories one after another are amazing! Is it because their thoughts are concise, they're quick at organizing sentences, or are they just decisive?
I feel that spontaneity and speed are important; the times are changing so rapidly, and Shigure-san's ability to swim through text without being left behind is incredible.
Shigure-san's writing has a certain sexiness to the prose style itself, rather than just the words used, and that's where the heavy emotions come in. It feels less like falling and more like sinking deep into the emotions.
Hachi
Starting with an unsettling atmosphere and ending in an unsettling way, it progresses from the lingering resentment of a family, and finally...
Surprisingly, when I'm feeling down or having a hard time mentally, stories that lead to despair can become my reason for living, and that's the kind of unsettling vibe this has!
But I also feel like it can be read from the perspective of being slow to notice those heavy emotions until it's too late, in that fleeting moment!
Entry No. 2: Ichigo-san!
Have you prepared your tea?
Reading styles vary from person to person.
Reading while lying on the sofa, while drinking coffee at a desk, or on the train.
Ichigo-san's novels go well with a sunroom and tea; if it's not too cold, a balcony isn't bad either.
If possible, black tea is best, but I wouldn't mind Gyokuro, and I feel it pairs well with strong teas like Dong Ding Oolong, but barley tea—you, you are not allowed.
Last time was a voyeuristic style, but how will it come this time? I wonder if we'll be able to peek into an overwhelmingly aesthetic worldview again!
🫖
A girl wears 'that item' familiar to us, and a boy wears it so sensually! The raw vividness that comes from being able to imagine the texture and the pressure creates a soaring eroticism.
Surely, if I were to write it... no, I won't say anything more.
The perspective of the gaze is unique, and this time it kept me on the edge of my seat!
Last! Me!
It's a classic brother complex!
It touches on taboos through a circular argument between a younger brother who is a monster of heavy emotions and an older brother who is a pro at brushing things off.
The real thrill of a brother complex is the conflict, but these brothers here just argue!
I hope they keep doing this fruitless thing forever!
To the challengers!
BL novels are still somewhat shunned in some places.
Every time I plan something, I think, 'Diversity' is still just a superficial word, isn't it?
But since diversity also means knowing 'what people dislike,' I like the decisiveness of clearly pushing back, and I won't pursue it further.
If you put 'BL' in the title, it's obviously avoided; I guess people care about what others think.
I'm sure there are people who think, 'I don't want to get involved.'
I think many people are embarrassed to be found out that they read this genre.
But when I actually talk to various people in the comments, they tell me things like, 'Actually, I read it in secret,' or 'I take a peek while I'm on the move.'
I think, 'I'm happy.'
It's something you don't have to say, and you can leave without leaving a trace.
But I am happy for the kindness of going out of your way to tell me, and for the sharing of a secret.
Even if it's in secret, there are many people who like it; it's just that everyone is a little shy.
That is why it is a fact that there are few writers, and I think the hurdle is a little lower for those aiming to be professional writers.
If you want to write in any form and leave your mark, it's a genre worth pioneering—now is the time!
Please use the works you have written for your future activities by adding revisions, etc.; I don't mind if you submit them to public contests!
I think it's a work that was written from a different perspective, so please enjoy and utilize it thoroughly, such as by serializing it.
To the readers!
To everyone who always comes! And thank you to the newcomers as well!
Were you able to peek into the darkness of the human heart?
While there are many works that usually lean towards comedy or light emotions even within romance, this time the challenging writers took on heavy emotions!
I think it's safe to say that there has never been a person who has lived until now without ever having strong feelings for someone other than themselves.
People want to read, even while daring to open that up and gouge out their wounds.
I think it is a very honest, human-like behavior to try to peek into the deep parts of oneself and be swayed by emotions.
For those of you who secretly took a peek by jumping on the bandwagon with 'Kashiko'-san from the project, your courage is neither trivial nor embarrassing.
Please be proud that you have accepted one part of yourself.
The feeling after finishing reading is also mixed with a sense of accomplishment.
Thank you for peeking in with me.
Please give a round of applause and a 'like' to 'Kashiko'-san's inner cry and for her eager agreement to this project!
Well then, what's next month's 'BL on note' going to be?
The main theme is 'Graduation/Entrance Ceremony'!
It can be graduation, entrance, or joining a company! Heart-throbbing confessions at graduation ceremonies, heart-throbbing encounters at entrance ceremonies, or ending up in the same department as someone you hate at an induction ceremony—the topics are endless, aren't they!
The remaining two crazy lottery themes will be pinned to the top article of my note on February 21st!
Please enter your participation in the comments section there!
We are also widely accepting other projects you'd like to try, subjects you'd like to read about, or things like 'I'm writing this right now, but I won't copy you, so how would you all write it?'
Whether you are a challenger or a reader, please scheme and let us know!
・One of the themes is a seasonal event chosen from the note calendar.
・The remaining two are chosen by a crazy lottery, and you create using all three.
・Write within 3000 to 5000 characters.
・Not a derivative work.
・Give off a BL vibe; full-blown is even better.👍
・Please refrain from paid articles; this is a place for play.
・If it's a novel within 5000 characters, multiple submissions are also welcome!
・🔞is fine as long as it follows note's regulations. Show off your power to make it read erotically through careful word choice and creative expression; I will enjoy it while groaning. (I tend to attack at a sharp angle)
