Rii's Fictional Radio #EX_001

Good evening. It is time for Rii's Fictional Radio.

Today is July 31st. In other words, it is the end of July and the final day of the Creative Awards support period! To everyone who submitted a work and everyone who supported in various ways, thank you so much for your hard work! Let's all give ourselves a round of applause~! (Clap clap clap)

So, this fictional radio episode is a special edition. As a final act of support, I will be introducing recommended works that were sent to the question box.

For details, please refer to the previous broadcast (article).

I thought about trying it, but the downside of a question box is that since you can't see how many messages have arrived from the outside, it's hard to tell what the current situation is. It's good that people can't tell if nothing has been collected, but I thought it must be scary to be the first one to submit to a place where no one else has.

Even so, to everyone who sent in messages, thank you so very much...!
Well then, let's get started right away~!

※ Please note that honorifics have been omitted for the authors' names in the headings.

First, I would like to introduce a recommended work from R.N. (Radio Name) Fubinchu nu Takara.

Sunday's Mayfly | Aruron

It has the perfect trifecta: a laid-back feel in the beginning (laughter), a heart-fluttering feel in the middle (excitement), and a tear-jerking feel at the end (crying). It's a short story, and the dialogue moves at a good tempo, so I think it's relatively easy to read.

So, I read it.
As you said, the tempo of the dialogue is pleasant, and it feels like eavesdropping on the couple sitting next to you at a cafe.

The excitement in the middle! I love this kind of thing! You know, this kind of innocent romance is the best! Ah, of course, this is just my personal opinion.
Even though exciting things like affairs and revenge dramas are popular these days, I still want to keep chasing pure and heart-fluttering stories~!
The ending was also really good... I'm going to buy some Kaki no Tane (persimmon seed crackers) on my way home today.

By the way, the TALES app crashed about three times while I was reading this work, is this also 'Fubinchu' power??

Next, here is a work sent in by an anonymous person.

Playing Comedian | Tokyo Local Iwao

Good evening. I am writing this because I would like to submit an entry for the Fictional Radio Creative Grand Prize special edition.
It is a story about the setbacks of a young comedian and the bond that follows. My favorite part is the phrase "nouveau riche." Thank you for your consideration.

I love how the story starts off at a slow, steady pace and then gradually shifts into higher gear! I couldn't take my eyes off every single choice made by the protagonist, Ban-kun.

That Ban-kun is just so human. While I wanted to yell at him, "Come on, man!", I also found myself staring into the void thinking, "Well, that's just how people are..." as I read on. I just can't bring myself to hate him.
And the pleasure of finally understanding the meaning of "comedian play-acting" at the end is just irresistible.

The playfulness of being able to chuckle at even the most mundane scenes once you know the source material is also wonderful. As a comedy fan, I really enjoyed this work. Pleasehave a premium beeron me.

Next is another message from an anonymous listener!

Let Me Write an Essay | Mikumayutan

The highlights are how each character works earnestly and holds onto their sincere feelings for someone.

I read it, and wow, what a sudden turn of events right from the start?!

This is a personal note, but as an aspiring essayist, I find myself empathizing with the protagonist, Takahira, in many ways, wanting to comfort him or feeling crushed right along with him.
Also, even if I were in Takahira's shoes, I think I would have glared at Yoshida too (lol).

I've finished reading Chapter 1, and I already feel like I've witnessed a profound human drama. But instead of feeling satisfied, I'm dying to know what happens next!

I originally planned to introduce this after finishing all the chapters, but since the support period is ending, I decided to post my thoughts as of now. Once I've read the whole thing, please let me share my thoughts again...!!

Next is this work.

The Wandering Melody | Reimondo Chatora

This is a horror-suspense story based on the Taiwanese custom of "Minghun" (ghost marriage).
"Minghun" refers to a marriage with someone who has died unmarried. The protagonist, who committed murder for the sake of his ambition, is forced by his family to enter into a ghost marriage with the victim. There is an unexpected twist at the end. I couldn't stop shaking when I learned the truth.

H-horror, is it... The thumbnail really gives off a strong horror vibe. I'm not great with horror... though, as I say that, I'm the type of writer who ends up reading it anyway out of a morbid curiosity. I read this work with my heart pounding, too.

The story proceeds from the perspective of Kenji, the protagonist who has committed murder, but as the story progresses, a disturbing atmosphere gradually creeps in... From the middle onwards, I was mentally telling Kenji, 'Just spit it all out and make it easier for yourself already...' If you want to cool down during a hot summer, this is a must-read.

In accordance with the submission guidelines for the Creative Awards, a synopsis is written at the beginning of the first chapter, but for those who haven't read it yet, I recommend skipping it and starting from the main story!!

😱

Next, from R.N. Anything sounds a bit erotic if you put 'Night's' in front of it-san... wait, what kind of radio name is that!! What are you making me read!

Children who ride motorcycles will eventually stop riding them | Genchon

Hello Li-san!
The article I want to recommend today is 『Children who ride motorcycles will eventually stop riding them』 by Genchon-san.
The recommended point is that Genchon-san, who is usually just goofing around, tries to act cool but doesn't quite pull it off, which somehow creates a sense of familiarity or attachment that I find really nice.
The author himself was also very confident, saying, 'This is something only I could write among all the people on Note! It's sure to win an award!!' So, you might have already read it, but please read it one more time!

The author himself says it's a masterpiece he's confident in! I nodded the moment I read it, agreeing that it certainly is.

I have a little bit of interaction with the author, Genchon-san, and the quiet gap between this and his usual behavior is really striking. It's a wonderful essay, to the point where it's frustrating that I thought it was cool (lol).
Even for those who don't interact with Genchon-san, I think there are many parts that will resonate, especially with those who are raising children.

I think that writing down moments that only exist now is a very precious thing.

Oh, by the way, I met with the author, Genchon-san, the other day, and when I showed the photo from that day to my mother, she said, “What kind of things do you talk about with this person...?” She was floored.

Finally, it's the last one!
The last work I'll introduce is a recommendation from R.N. The Izayoi moon is beautiful, isn't it-san.

Tom the Candle Keeper | Text: Kazuki Nami, Illustration: Kyota no

Hello Li-san.
Today I brought a picture book I'd like to recommend!『Tom the Candle Keeper』 is a picture book that heals everyone from children to adults.
With text that warmly introduces the candle room inside us, and cute illustrations of the candle keeper and the protagonists, it's a story that makes you feel gentle and 'cherished' when you read it. Please do read it.

I read it! While being healed by the adorable illustrations, the warm words soaked deep into my frayed heart... It's so soothing...

At first, I wondered why it was a candle, but as the story progressed, I thought, 'I see...!' and it felt very satisfying.

You might be wondering what I'm talking about, but saying any more would be a spoiler, so if you haven't read it yet, please check out the work!

If you read this aloud, the adults are the ones who will end up crying. At least I would. I'd be sobbing, for sure...
I really felt that this is a story I'd like to keep on hand in picture book form.

🕯️

Yes! So, that was six works I introduced.
The Creative Awards support period ends today, but there are still many works I haven't read yet, so I hope to take my time reading them.

Still, I wish I had thought of this project sooner! (laughs)
Though, the 'Question Box' I used is still a new tool itself...! (excuse)

I hope to continue using this Question Box in interesting ways.
'Fictional Radio' is something I'd like to continue doing little by little, so please keep supporting me! Questions are always welcome!

・Thoughts on the article
・Recommendations for Rii
・Things you'd like to ask Rii
・The support period is over, but I want you to read this!

And so on!

So, thank you all so much for your hard work on the Creative Awards 2026!! The results are still a while away, but for now, this is a milestone. Let's all have a toast today!

To those who have been reading for a while and those who found me through the Creative Awards, thank you for sticking with me. I look forward to your continued support!

Also, I have various events coming up in August, so there should be more reports on my 'oshi' (fave) activities for a while...! This summer is going to be busy too~~~

See you next time!

▼ Even if it's not during the support period, I'd be happy if you read them!
