In an 'Era Where You Don't Have to Try Hard,' What Is the 'Reason to Try Hard' on note?
People say 'you don't have to try hard,' but is that really okay?
Don't you feel like something is missing?
In this day and age where the phrase 'you don't have to try hard' is taken for granted,I held a workshop on how to work hard at writing 'a note that you don't really need to write.'I held a workshop.

What do you think of everyone's faces here? They look so bright and clear, don't they?
Every time I look at this photo, my heart is still filled with warm emotions.
I hate to be repetitive, but you don't have to write on note if you don't want to.
Nevertheless, not a single participant or supporter here 'joined because they were bored.'
Right up against a deadline
Working from home since early morning and doing part-time work during the day
Anxious about the health of a young child who still needs a lot of care
Even though it's hard to take paid leave, they still wanted to participate in the workshop
A new job came in right before the workshop, but they still wanted to participate!
Everyone was busy with work and their personal lives, but they signed up because 'I still really want to write on note.'
Today, I would like to think about'The reason to write on note in an era where you don't have to try hard.'I would like to think about this.
A brief self-introduction
I'm Kanazawa, a web writer.
Using my experience as an instructor and operational support for entrepreneurship schools, I share 'how to write notes that connect through likes and empathy' on note.
Thanks to everyone, I have sold nearly 150 paid notes in three and a half months. I am filled with gratitude for those who read them. Thank you so much!
Not everyone is writing on note
note surpassed 10 million registered users in June 2025.
The total number of articles is 60 million, and there are over 70 million monthly active users (as of February 2025).

However, this number includes
posts made by the same person multiple times
people who only browse without posting
In other words, just because someone is on note doesn't necessarily mean 'everyone is writing articles.'
Based on my gut feeling, I suspect thatthere are surprisingly few people who continue to write consistently.
The challenges of busy adults are beginning
■ Breaking out of your 'shell' by writing
What I value most when I write on note is the 'desire to write.'
This was the emotion I most wanted to pass on to the participants of this workshop.

You don't need techniques to write sentences.
If you put your desire to write into honest words, it will reach the people it needs to reach.
What we did in the workshop was an exercise to inventory the emotions we have experienced so far.
I conducted it because I wanted to spark their 'desire to write' enough to overcome the feeling of 'not knowing how to write.'
Then, one of the participants, Tomo Takehara, wrote down what she felt at that time.
Takehara-san is both a chef and a writer.
I choose to be a 'writer' as a means to convey excitement.
I was moved by the way she clearly declared this in her article.
■ The moment 'I can't' turned into 'I did it!'
In the midst of busy daily lives as adults, it is not easy to secure time to write on note. Even so, by writing on note, I wanted them to experience 'I did it too!' andto push past their limitswas also one of my goals.
Describing herself as
extremely stage-frightened
I'm not good at speaking in front of people
said participant Miyuki-no-san.
Even though she was afraid to even present at first, she was encouraged by the proactive and positive atmosphere of the other participants, and by the end of the workshop, she raised her hand and shared her thoughts herself.
I'm not sure why, but I felt like I wanted to try hard, or perhaps the feeling of wanting to be like the people here even a little bit is what made me raise my hand.
■ The emotion seen after overcoming confusion
We use a chat tool called Discord as a means of communication for the whole group, and we saw people struggling with the unfamiliar tool while trying their best to move forward.
It takes a lot of courage to study mixed in with those young people 💦
First of all, I can't keep up with the evolution!
Chizuru-neesan, the oldest participant, was confused at first but was helped by everyone and became able to use the tool skillfully.
And finally...!

I still cannot forget the feeling I had when I received that message.
■ It's not just the participants
The supporters for this project, whom I met through note, have already experienced changes in their own lives by writing.
You 'don't have to try hard,' but are you fulfilled?
When we were children, we had times when we tried our hardest, crying, laughing, and sometimes fighting, through club activities, studying, school festivals, and sports days.
When you succeeded, didn't you feel an irreplaceable joy?
But what about after becoming an adult?
Chased by daily tasks, there are fewer opportunities to be recognized even if you put in the effort.
That is exactly why there is meaning in writing on note.
By acknowledging each other's efforts and sharing the joy of what we have accomplished, we can all feel our growth.
Having a 'place where you can be serious' again after becoming an adult.
Isn't that in itself a wonderful thing?
There is a 'world you can only see because you try'
The mainstream trend of the era is that 'you don't have to try so hard.'
But what I realized after holding this workshop is that, no matter how old you get, even as an adult, the sight of someone getting covered in mud and giving it their all is precious.
In the midst of a busy daily life, making time to write on note is very difficult.
In this workshop, there is homework called a 'gift,' which is to write three notes within two weeks.
That is precisely why we needed a place to acknowledge each other and send cheers.
A safe place where you won't be criticized by anyone, where you can freely write what you want to write and regain your 'true self.'
This is exactly what I aim for as 'writing entertainment'.
There is a world there that can only be seen by those who have tried their best.
If you, having read this far, feel even a little bit that 'I want to see that world too,' please let me introduce you to a place that will fully support your next step.
'Write and Sell Paid Notes! Zero-to-One Achievement Course' recruitment starts on Friday, September 26th at 8:00 PM
I've become able to write notes!
I've become able to express myself in my own words!
One way for people who have accumulated such small successful experiences to move to the next step is through 'paid notes.'

I myself have sold over 140 paid notes in three and a half months.
This was not achieved through superficial techniques, but because I had a story design that resonates with readers, which I cultivated as an instructor at an entrepreneurship school.
This time, I won't just be teaching 'how to sell.'
I have spent 100 days writing notes and using trial and error to develop a note strategy that builds long-term trust with buyers and allows me to grow alongside my readers.
As a result, a continuous course was born that shares everything about the practical methods for writing 'notes that sell.'
In the four 120-minute sessions, we will learn:
The template for notes that sell
Strategies for increasing dedicated fans
We will learn these thoroughly while incorporating case studies and workshops.
It is a program where you can fully enjoy the fun of writing and selling paid notes while supporting each other among participants.
Recruitment will begin on this note, so if you are interested, please return to the top page from the link below and follow me while you wait.

You don't have to try hard.
But precisely because we are 'grown-ups,' I want to create a place where we can acknowledge and praise each other's efforts.
That is the sentiment behind my activities.
Today was fun too!
Thank you very much.
