It was a morning when the sky was still dark.

The lights of the town and the light of the stars still remained.

The dormouse put on a small backpack and decided to head to the observatory.

Today, he wanted to see the dawn.

He walked along the quiet mountain path.

All he could hear were his own footsteps and the sound of the wind.

The sky was still the color of night.

Even so, morning was approaching little by little.

Just a little further to the observatory.

The dormouse climbed one step at a time.

There is no need to rush.

Morning will not run away.

He finally arrived at the observatory.

However, the sky remains dark.

Only the lights of the distant town were shining faintly.

Yamane sits on the bench.

Without even opening his notebook,

he just quietly looked up at the sky.

The time spent waiting feels a little long.

But strangely, it didn't feel unpleasant.

After a while,

the edge of the sky became a little brighter.

It wasn't blue.

It wasn't orange either.

It was a color that could not be put into words.

Yamane found himself captivated.

The morning sun peeked out from over the mountains.

The dark landscape,

is gradually being enveloped in light.

The town, too.

The trees, too.

The river, too.

Everyone was welcoming the same morning.

The dormouse opened its notebook.

And it wrote down what it had discovered today.

"Even the time spent waiting,

must have some meaning."

When it finished writing,

it smiled just a little.

By the time it headed home,

it was completely morning.

The voices of the birds can be heard.

A new day begins.

The dormouse, having returned home,

gently closed its notebook.

Even the time spent waiting,

must surely have meaning.

Dawn,

will arrive without needing to be rushed.

Thinking this,

the dormouse gazed at the morning light.
