Nice to meet you, I'm Gretsch-niisan

I'm not sure if I should say 'nice to meet you,' but I'm Gretsch-niisan.
I've probably already written quite a few articles.

Since the number of people following me has increased recently,
I thought I should write a proper self-introduction.

I usually write mainly about guitars and DTM,
and occasionally about my daily life.

I write a lot about gear, but
rather than just explaining specs,
I tend to talk more about what it was actually like to use them.

In my articles, I use names like 'Isabelle' and 'Loretta',
but for those reading for the first time, you're probably thinking, 'What is he talking about?'

Those are all names I gave my guitars on my own.
It's a bit confusing, isn't it?
I named them because I wanted names like 'Lucille,' the legendary Les Paul that appears in the manga 'BECK'.

First, 'Isabelle'.

It's a History Strat-type,
model 'GH-SV/C',
and it's a guitar that I had extensively modified by Toe-Juto-san.
The pickups are also original to Toe-Juto-san.

It's the guitar I use as my main,
and beyond just the sound, it gives me a sense of security when I play it.
To me, it's like a benchmark.

The other one is 'Loretta'.

It's an 80s A-serial Squier Strat,
model number 'SST-35',
and this one has also been heavily modified.
It was modified by Freedom-san,
and finished by my friend Shino-chan.
It started as a normal guitar,
but before I knew it, it had become almost something else entirely.

It has a bit of a quirk,
but it's a guitar that fits strangely well when playing alternative-style music.

Also, there is a Strat-type called
'Tetsukita Kontai' that I received from Shino-chan.

Honestly, I don't really know what this is.
I only have information that it seems to be from a manufacturer in Nagasaki,
and people say various things about the wood, like it might be mahogany or red cedar.

However, it sounds good. That much I know.

I also have a bass, which is from a manufacturer called COBRAN,
but I don't know the model number.

I've actually written an article digging deep into this bass in the past.
It's fun to play it once in a while.

For amps, I use a FENDER JAPAN SVD-20CE and a FENDER CONCERT II.

Recently, I've been sending that CONCERT II out for repairs,
and asking for guitar adjustments,
so things have been a bit hectic regarding my gear.

For some reason, these things always seem to pile up at once.

I use Ableton Live 12 Standard as my DAW.

My computer is a custom-built Windows machine.

For plugins, I use NI KOMPLETE 15 Standard, iZotope Ozone 11 Standard, and Neural DSP amp simulators.

I am learning guitar from Katzuya Shimizu.
That said, I still can't play at all.

I'm not in a band or anything right now, but through my connection with Shimizu-sensei, I often participate in an event on the third Thursday of every month at
Shimokitazawa Music Island O called "Motekoro JAM".

Last month, someone actually came because they saw this note! Thank you so much! I'm not the organizer or anything, but I'm very grateful.

I'll announce this month's event again as the date gets closer.

So, I've written a lot of things, but
honestly, I don't understand everything.
Even now, there are times when I'm using things without really knowing how they work.

However, I want to make sure I write down
only the things I've actually felt while using them.

With that in mind,
I write about guitar, DTM, and occasionally my daily life.

If anything catches your interest,
I would be happy if you read my posts again.

Thank you for your support.
