"Things I'm vaguely curious about, things I'm curious about for some reason, someone else's hedge, the contents of a Mont Blanc, the cherry blossoms every year... Masuda-san's small but important confirmations. The latest collection of essays & manga."
"Someone else's flowerpot, the contents of a Mont Blanc, end credits... It doesn't really matter, but I just have to know. Essays that confirm things that are almost unnecessary in life. Published as a book with additions and revisions from the 'web Chikuma' series."
"Masuda-san's small but important confirmations.
Not so much because I love them, but
things I'm vaguely curious about,
small things I'm curious about for some reason.
Maybe they might be delicious,
maybe there might be an amazing encounter."
Don't you also have
things that don't really matter, but
that you just have to know about?
An essay & manga collection that makes daily life a little more endearing."

The 36th book by Miri Masuda,
born in Osaka Prefecture in January 1969 and a graduate of Kyoto Junior College of Art,
which I started reading in March 2022.

Published in 'web Chikuma' from September 2015 to December 2018,
'The Confirmation Rider Goes: Setting out for confirmations that are almost unnecessary in life!'
40 pieces (15 pieces of 2-page spread manga), added to, revised, retitled, and published as a book.
Even now,
'The 21st Confirmation of Cats' p.74-78
https://www.webchikuma.jp/articles/-/603
can be read, but it is arranged 17th in this book.

I wonder if the series, which was 'updated every third Friday of the month,' had episodes with text + illustrations and episodes with only manga?
'I have thought since I was a child that egg sandwiches should be made with fried eggs. Part of it is that the egg sandwiches at my parents' house were like that, and in the Kansai region, it's quite common for egg sandwiches at coffee shops to be made with fried eggs.
The egg sandwich at 'Hamanoya Parlor' in Yurakucho is made with a fried egg. You can choose whether to toast the bread or not. I always have it as is. Since I want to savor it deeply, I usually go and eat it alone.'
p.36 'Confirmation of Egg Sandwiches'
'The egg sandwich with fried egg that appeared for breakfast when I was a child, dazed after waking up. The sandwich was cut into a half-rectangle, not a triangle. The Kewpie mayonnaise spread generously on the bread was warmed up nicely by the freshly made fried egg.
When I return home, my mother still makes it for me sometimes, but surprisingly, what's important is the plate.
Yes, yes, it has to be the 'Yamazaki Spring Bread Festival' plate after all!
I think to myself while eating.' p.39
The 'Yamazaki Spring Bread Festival' is very popular among women, isn't it?
It also appeared in Ayuko Kimura's 'Window of Home Cooking' (Heibonsha, 2022.8),
which I read the other day.

Hikari Harada's 'Used Book Cafeteria' (Kadokawa Haruki Corporation, 2022.3)

The characters in it (the narrator and the mother who is a graduate student in Japanese literature) also collected the stickers.

Spring Bread Festival History
'In the spring of 1981, we started giving away white plates.'
That was the year after I became a Yokohama citizen in the early summer of 1980.
