Better late than never, I started using Netflix
Watching hit shows like "Crash Landing on You" and "Squid Game"
What I'm hooked on right now is "Taco Chronicles"

It's a show that thoroughly introduces tacos, which were born in Mexico,
Oh, man, they look so delicious!
The happy expressions on the faces of the people
in Mexico biting into their tacos!
I just had to eat some,
so I looked for a shop and got takeout,
but hmm, when it's cold, it's kind of...
Like in "Taco Chronicles",
I want to eat them freshly made and hot...
So, I decided to try making them from the tortilla up.
Here goes.
Put bread flour and corn flour in a bowl with oil and water and knead.
The bread flour's expiration date is two months past. Oh well, it's fine.
While letting the dough rest, I made salsa.
Green chili peppers, tomatoes, onions, cilantro.
Just chop the vegetables finely, mix them, and squeeze some lime.
Super easy!
For the taco meat, I used ground meat and
a taco mix I bought at Kaldi.
Just stir-fry and mix.
Then, roll out the tortilla dough and bake it.
Put the taco meat and salsa on the tortilla and fold it in half.
They say you're supposed to tilt your head to eat it. *Chomp*
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Freshly made, delicious!
53 years old.
Before I knew it, the rest of my life has become shorter,
unless I live to be 107, that is.
I will probably never get to go to Mexico.
I did go to Brazil, though.
Tacos I wanted to try eating in Mexico.
There are many other things too.
Like raclette in Switzerland,
or egg tarts in Portugal. Enchanting.
You can eat them in Japan too, but
I want to taste them along with the local atmosphere.
Yum, yum, yum.
(Smartphone in right hand) At least to get the mood,
I used Google Street View
to go to Mexico City.
I landed on a random alleyway. Arrived.
Slowly moving along the cobblestone street.
Someone is getting takeout.
Looking closely, oh, everyone is already wearing masks.
A world of COVID.
Looking for a taco shop, as I moved through various alleys,
there was a taco shop!
I was able to see someone just squeezing lime onto their taco."
Even though the serialization has been going on for about three years,
if you Google "Miri Masuda Lunch Time",
nothing comes up.
I wonder if it's not being talked about at all.
