[Shin 2026 Edition] I wanted to say "I tried making every recipe in a cookbook," so I tried making every recipe in a "separate supplement book" Part 1
I want to try "making every recipe in a cookbook"
Is it impossible? It probably is. No, I can do it!! So last year I carried out "I tried making every recipe in a cookbook"
【Wouldn't it be possible if it were a separate supplement cookbook that comes with a magazine!?】
With that idea, I successfully finished it!! (Over 10,000 characters)
It was too long and crazy, so this year I'm going to split it up!!
I happen to have one on hand again this year!!
ESSE May 2025 supplement "Marumi Kitchen's Lazy Side Dishes"is right here.

This is it.
I'll make it with the same rules as last year.
Rules
1. Even if the order is messy, I will make every recipe in the separate supplement book
2. For expensive ingredients, I will improvise by substituting similar ones
3. I will not buy ingredients or seasonings I don't usually use
4. I will let the feeling of daily life drift through (I just want it to drift through)
I've decided to make my daily meals while allowing for arrangements!!
Also, I won't be posting all the instructions, so if you're interested, please buy back issues of ESSE!!
Now, let's get started!!
Deep-fried Tofu with Miso Sauce

Starting now, puff puff (sound of festival music)
First, deep-fried tofu with miso sauce. I'll put it in my husband's bento.
But

I don't have tonkatsu sauce or real ginger! Even though I bought garlic!!
Marumi-san, wait, is it okay to call "Marumi Kitchen"-san, Marumi-san? Marumi-san distinguishes between tube ginger and real ginger.
In this recipe, real ginger was necessary.
It might not be something I can just "let slide" (shoganai).

This is great, this is really great. It makes me want a beer in the morning.
The sweet and salty flavor is punctuated by the sharp scent of ginger.
Also, it's totally delicious even with medium-thick sauce and tube ginger. I wonder if it's even better with real ginger.
Potato and Sausage Mustard German Potatoes

Basically, I didn't look at the recipe properly, so this is what happens.

No, the potatoes shouldn't be 'in'—wait, they should be.
The sausage goes into the frying pan, and then you put that into the microwaved potatoes. What am I writing?

With the mayonnaise and mustard combined, it's like Kago-chan and Tsuji-chan—oh, sorry. That metaphor is difficult, isn't it? They have high affinity, and with the addition of sugar, it's totally Mini-Moni!!

Oh, the one on the right is the real one, and the one on the left is mine. Looking good, right?
I send this to my husband's LINE every time lol
Today's realization
Look at the book carefully and cut out unnecessary movements.
I really don't look at anything, do I? Me.
Medium-thick sauce is god-tier.
A sauce that sits right between Worcestershire and Tonkatsu sauce. The fact that a sauce exists for someone like me who values a sense of balance is wonderful. I've reaffirmed that this is the position I should aim for.
Mustard that hides the mayonnaise
My second daughter doesn't like mayonnaise, but when I served it without saying anything, she ate it first thing in the morning.
Summary
So, I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep uploading these, but I should have split them up last year too. Anyway, I'm aiming to finish the whole thing!!
Postscript: I finished the whole thing!! I'm waiting for your feedback too!!
