[Weekly yasu May 31st Issue] Beyond Organizing... The Foundation Solidified Before Leaving for Okinawa, and a Week Where "Tracing the Source" Began

Hello, this is yasu.

It is now the last Sunday of May.

When I open the window, I can already feel the air of early summer.
The plants in the garden have also turned a much deeper shade of green.

This week was a week spent solidifying the foundation before my departure for Okinawa, which is finally approaching next month.
It was a week spent preparing the foundation before my departure.

The week before last was about "organizing the margins,"
and last week was about "the organized margins bringing new challenges."

And this week, as the culmination of that flow,
I prepared for my departure, one step at a time.

Highlights of the week

Monday: Wrote all 4 parts of the "Tracing the Source" series at once

The biggest event of the week was the writing work on Monday.

Before leaving for Okinawa, I decided to write all the note articles for this week and next week
in a single day.

I wrote all four parts of the new series, "Tracing the Source."

However, this was not just a simple task.

As I wrote while using AI as a partner to bounce ideas off of,
it became a time to carefully re-examine myself.

Why have I been so particular about technology?
Why is the purpose of WAY "there"?

The feelings I had felt vaguely until now
gradually turned into words as I wrote them down.

And after I finished writing, I realized something.

"So, these are the kinds of people who influenced me."

It was a day where I could faintly see the path
that connects events from nearly 50 years ago
to who I am today.

Tuesday: Preparing posts for X and Instagram

From Tuesday, I started preparing my social media posts.

I am continuing my policy of posting on X every day.
While using Genspark as a partner to bounce ideas off of,
I completed my scheduled posts for the week.

Here, I also made one important course correction.

It is about Instagram.

I had been trying daily posts (in carousel format) since last week, but
after continuing for a week, I realized the heavy burden it placed on me.

Therefore, in line with my note article posts,
I decided to change it to three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday).

Rather than forcing myself to continue,
choosing a "form that I can sustain"
should also align with the WAY philosophy.

That was the course correction I made while telling myself that.

Mid-week: Switching to Canva for Instagram operations

I also had a realization
while creating Instagram carousels.

I noticed that I was consuming credits
after creating two posts with Genspark's AI designer.

There are things you don't understand until you actually try them,
even for systems you thought "should be free to use."

Fortunately, I had already created my own templates in Canva.

Starting with this coming Sunday's post (which is the posting date of this article),
I plan to fully roll out the content created in Canva.

You only truly see tools once you use them.
This was also a learning experience.

Second half of the week: Applied for free bookkeeping guidance at the tax office

In the latter half of the week,
in response to the guidance from the tax office,
I completed my application for free bookkeeping guidance.

I chose "Course B," which uses accounting software.
I have already checked that I can use freee, which I use regularly.

I expect to receive the notification of the results in late June.

For me, having just started my journey as a freelancer,
making good use of these systems
is an important step toward solidifying my foundation.

Don't shoulder everything alone,
rely on others where you can.

I feel that this, too, is part of organizing.

Cherishing hobbies and daily time as well

It was a hectic week, but I properly savored the pleasures of daily life.

I watched the F1 Canadian Grand Prix final. Amidst the turbulent developments, it was an interesting event where Kimi Antonelli's strength stood out even more.

I also finished the regular car inspection and received the mechanic's seal of approval that everything is in good order.

While also continuing with daily tasks like shopping little by little.

And one more happy discovery.

I finally realized that there was a major update for the Insta360 X5 about half a year ago.

I proceeded with the update and checked how to use it before my departure, which has further increased my excitement for filming in Okinawa.

Organizing and enjoying. It was a week where I valued that balance.

Articles delivered this week

This week was the start of the new series, "Tracing the Source."

This series is an autobiographical essay that concludes in four parts.

I will slowly trace the path that leads from a small event nearly 50 years ago to the WAY of today.

The theme running through the series is, "In the end, it's all about people."

Every encounter and lesson eventually converges into a single phrase.

That is the kind of series it is.

The first installment is the story of my first encounter with technology.

The "huge box" I saw at a friend's house when I was in elementary school. The BASIC computer my father brought home when I was in junior high school. The cassette tape handed to me by a professor in Okinawa during my student days.

The discovery that every encounter was mediated by "someone close to me"
is connected to the roots of the current WAY.

Thursday (5/28): "Tracing the Source #2 "
A teacher who would casually appear during cleaning time and a senior who would brew coffee for me... What I learned from these two "quiet mentors"

The second installment is about the two "quiet mentors"
who deeply influenced my life.

My 6th-grade homeroom teacher, Mr. A,
was someone who would casually appear
during cleaning time and ask quiet questions.

The senior who taught me ICT
was someone who, after a night lecture,
would talk with me over a cup of coffee.

Not flashy.
Not speaking with intense passion.
Just calm and warm.

That kind of "quiet warmth"
still remains within me.

This week's "Addition Method" review

I will look back on this week using the addition method as well.

・Wrote all 4 articles in the "Tracing the Source" series on Monday
・Had valuable time to re-examine myself through writing
・Prepared 2 weeks' worth of scheduled posts for X and Instagram
・Adjusted the Instagram posting frequency to a sustainable 3 times a week
・Noticed the credit consumption of the AI designer and switched to Canva operation
・Applied for free bookkeeping guidance at the tax office to solidify my foundation
・Ensured daily enjoyment by watching the F1 Canadian GP and getting the car regularly inspected
・Discovered the Insta360 X5 update, which heightened my anticipation for the stay in Okinawa

I was able to write 8 things.
As preparation before departure, these are more than enough achievements.

Starting next week, life in Okinawa finally begins.

While being rocked by the ferry,
slowly, toward a new land.

In Okinawa, I plan to:

・Cover the status of AI and technology adoption locally
・Experience life there for potential future relocation
・Publish the 3rd and 4th installments of the "Tracing the Source" series

I have these planned.

The 4th installment in particular is scheduled to be published automatically while I am in transit.
This will also be one example
of a way of working with AI as a partner.

From the ship, and from Okinawa,
I will continue to deliver new scenery.

In Conclusion... Beyond Organizing

It was a week where what I had been organizing over the past three weeks
finally took shape.

The week before last, I organized the margins.
Last week, the margins I organized brought new challenges.
And this week, I organized the preparations for departure, one by one.

Organizing is
a quiet preparation for starting something new.

Beyond that, new scenery awaits.

Starting next week, my life in Okinawa will finally begin.

On the foundation I have prepared,
what kind of encounters and realizations await?
I will take my time and enjoy it.
