In twisted pair cable, metallic copper wire helps in transmitting the signals in the form of electrical signals. Twisted Pair Cables are mostly used in telephone networks and cable shielding.

  • Although twisted pair cables are more susceptible to interference, modern categories such as Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a support very high bandwidth and data rates, often exceeding those of traditional coaxial networking implementations
