How to tame a draki
Hey Troubleshooters!

Lil question, soooo Ive reached the Draki nest and I was fighting my way through the entire thing, which was not just hard, but also incredible time consuming. However I read yu can only tame a draki when its a hatching with eggshell, however said ones die after 3 turns after hatching. WELL how the hell am I suppoused to run all the way into teh heart of the cave, wait till they hatch, tame them and then get out without ending up in the abyss of endless enemy slaughter? There must be a trick... but the only thing I can think of right now is run in, do your best to tame at least one, get murdered by a million enemies and hope that the tamed hatchling is saved no matter if you end up failing the mission.

It's not as simple as with other beasts. There are conditions to be met. You need to enter the Draki Nest (case 44 V). There are eggs scattered around the stage. The Draki Queen initiates the hatching process with her ability Hatching Roar. If the Draki Queen is put out of action, ALL eggs enter the hatching state. As their turn comes (they count as enemies) they either spawn Draki Hatchlings or Hatchlings with eggshell. The latter can be tamed, but you cannot tarry too long, because they have the Verdict of Death on them (they die in 4 turns). On the upside, due to their low HP, taming them happens instantly. It's good to un-equip any mastery and set which can increase Giselle's AT.

How do I manage it to get in, tame them and get back out? There are hundreds of Draki in there. If I tame one and failed the mission afterwards, do I still keep the Draki?

You do, but it doesn't have to be this way. You could kill one of the bosses and choose to end the mission(it takes ~100AT to finalize).

You need some seriously good builds for that mission. Battle Mage Irene with Magic Armor up can soak up a lot of damage. Same goes for Leton with the set which enables him to use Frost Armor. Make sure to equip Snowman on your important characters, since getting frozen by Ice Draki is pretty much a death sentence. Heixing as ranger with the "You won't catch me off guard" and "I know it all already" sets is also a pretty good addition, since as long as he isn't attacked from a flank, he dodges every ranged attack with a 100% chance. Equip the "You can't do anything" set on him too, because even if Silence doesn't trigger or gets cleared, all Draki except the Dark ones get cooldown +1 on all their abilities. Get a bunch of them with Sweeping fire, and they just sit around for at least one turn doing nothing. Ray can also be absolutely deadly, just don't waste shots on powerful Draki. Another thing: do not bring and throw smoke grenades. Draki get AT reduction when in smoke screens. Craft a tanky drone with Kylie, equip it with Emergency Rescue System and keep it exposed but near crucial characters. It'll resurrect a downed member if they are up to 4 tiles away from it. Equip someone with the Beast Hunter mastery if possible.

That's just some ways to do it, there are more. Hope this helps.
Just kill every angry Draki you encounter, their is always 1 egg that will not die at the end, so when the place is cleared, you have all the time need to find this waliking egg and tame it.

Draki taming is 9000 times easier than trying to tame the Frog queen.
Sadly I wasnt so lucky, by the time I ended up in the egg room all of them already hatched.
I gotta check if I can rearrange some of my masteries... so far I was concentrating on giving everyone at least second heart/ third heart and veteran. On another subject: If I use a drone and, better question yet actually, if one of my machines or creatures gets killed in action, do I lose them forever?

No, the machine just goes into a state of low operations rate, which is restored by repairing it (much like buying food for your human team members). Losing beasts affects their loyalty. Each mission they're out of action is -1 to loyalty.
Remember that the hatching time is three of their turns, not three of your turns, so you can deal with all of the enemies before they hatch if your team is fast.

Consider Quick Grasp of the Situation. That gives you -5AT whenever an enemy ends their turn in your line of sight. If 8 enemies move (including an egg just running around trying to hatch) it's your go again.

Or Catharsis and One Shot One Kill. That means that if you kill an enemy from full hp you can take another turn. Some characters can clear all of the weaker draki in a single turn using that (some can clear all the stronger ones too but one step at a time).

You can buy yourself more time by killing the first two draki in the corridor without raising the alarm, you can see their sight range so have everyone sit just outside of it, set up overwatch and similar and ignore the branches off the main path. That way you can get to the egg chamber without having the hatching process having already started so you've got plenty of time.

You keep the pet even if you die so if nothing else is working you can just tame one and die. The AI isn't that bright and tends to attack whoever it's got the best hit chance on so moving Giselle to tame from a position with some cover and standing someone out in the open as a sacrifice will get the job done.
Alright, thanks everyone! Ill give it another try in a second!
There are a myriad of builds that can tank this whole map without any problem. The only scary/annoying enemies are the ice Draki since some of them can freeze which is usually a death sentence and the dark Draki Barons since they can apply fear. Everything else just doesn't really do much. They're all also extremely squishy. Even the weakest Heixing should be able to mow down hordes of them and nearly kill all of them with 1s1k chains.

Also getting Veteran (or equipment that does the same) on your frontline is indeed necessary however it is absolutely not needed on everybody. Your long range characters should not be in a situation where they can get stunned. Second Heart is nice to have but it is more a crutch then an actual solution to the problem. It is useful for surprise attacks on one of your squishies but when you constantly die then a single revive won't really help much. Third Heart is almost always overkill. I think I never had a situation where I needed a revive and then the mission went on for another 9 turns (for the revive debuff to wear off) and I then need another revive. And it uses so many expensive masteries too most of which are useless on non-tanks (and even tanks really).

If you post your builds then maybe some more specific feedback could help. You can also go and join the Discord where people always talk about builds and other things and are happy to brainstorm on how to improve things.
Yo so I have another question concerning Draki. For the first time now while playing I was fiddling around with the crafting system. Aaaand after doing so for an hour I have gotten quiet an assortment of Draki related sets that I can craft. My question being: Are the Draki set pieces the strongest kinds of equipment currently available?
In the endgame to date there's better stuff.

At the stage of the game that you first encounter it, it should be competitive.

I think Albus' stuff lasted longest before being eclipsed (for people who were into block builds)

Hm, what would be the best stuff available at the current end game? Stores dont really sell great stuff, alternatively I guess all I could do is farm treasure chests...
If you want the best equipment, you will need to farm legendaries, and craft epic or set equipment. Crafting might take awhile if you haven't been doing much of it, but you can make it easier and more expensive by buying materials from vendors on shooter street. Also, you can craft items with maxed out workmanship, and the workmanship you would have earned will be spread out between all items with the same crafting type and crafting level.

That really depends on what your character needs. There is a bunch of legendary equipment that has very unique stats like getting AT back on reaction attack kills or taking less damage when you have high attack. Then there's some very specific but potentially overpowered stuff like the craftable bangle that gives you 50% resistance ignore which allows Battle Mages to one-shot even a berserked Schwarz. Sweeper for example wants all the cast delay reduction craftable gear since it will increase the damage of his attacks via Firearm Interchangeability. And the list goes on and on.

Gear sets are for the most part very specific and most of them can't compete with well rolled legendaries or crafted gear. However some of them have very unique properties that you cannot get anywhere else. Honorable mention I would definitely give to the Golden Leather set that gives stun immunity as well as a bunch of very strong melee stats and an insane amount of speed. Also the Hunter set for a trapper Giselle which allows her to spam traps so much more than before.

So as you can see there isn't a clear answer. It all depends on what your character needs. (but the Draki sets are most likely not it although the one for Albus can be used as a transitionary set since it can be hard to get good block otherwise)
