[2026.4] The 97th Gokita Juku Tokai Study Session | Dealing with Health Means Observing People
I am Yutaka Gokita, representative of Your Best Solution.
Regarding the study sessions for the
mentorship program (commonly known as Gokita Juku) which we conduct as the core business of Your Best Solution.
This time, I will introduce the April 2026 session, the 97th Tokai Study Session.
※Gokita Juku is a mentorship-based learning space where professionals involved in mind and body, such as trainers, therapists, and instructors, gather to cultivate not only skills and knowledge but also the 'ability to observe people'.
Morning Session
The venue this time was Tokai City.
The morning was for classroom learning.
The 'tuning' of status reports
At every study session, we have each person share:
・What are some 'good things,' 'bad things,' or 'things that inspired you' recently?
・Reflecting on the past month, please declare what you will do (or not do) this month based on your reflections and areas for improvement.
・If you have anything you would like to ask (or consult) Gokita (or any of the members), please go ahead.
We have them present in this format.

Status reports are not just reports; they are a time to verbalize the state in which each person is spending their days.
Sharing worries and challenges is
not just an exchange of information.
It is a time to tune the 'social health' of the professionals themselves.
No matter how much knowledge you acquire or how much you polish your skills,
if your own state is not tuned,
you cannot provide essential 'health'.
Knowledge and skills are important. That is certain.
But I value this time even more than that.
Understanding the structure and function of the brain
This year, throughout the year,
we have set the theme of 'Deepening and Expansion'
and decided together to deepen our expertise further.
In February, nutritionist Tomoko Hasegawa gave a lecture on the topic of
'Nutrition and Dietary Therapy'.
In March, judo therapist Narumi Ichiyanagi, gave a lecture on anatomy.
This time, we had a lecture on occupational therapist Lisa Nakada give a lecture on brain structure and function.

Why can't people move in the same way?
Walking the same way.
Standing the same way.
Moving the same way.
Even if movements look the same at a glance, the brain processing, the way sensory information is received, past experiences, and living environments leading up to those movements differ for each individual.
The brain receives various information such as visual, auditory, tactile, thermal/pain, and proprioceptive sensations, integrates them, makes judgments, and issues motor commands to the body.
In other words, movement is not just a matter of muscles and joints, but also an expression of
what that person feels, how they judge, and how they react.
Furthermore, from the perspective of the ICF, movement is not determined solely by physical function.
Activity, participation, environmental factors, personal factors, and health conditions.
These interact with each other to create that person's movements and life.
Even if there is a textbook-correct way to "walk",
walking to do housework for family,
walking to go out with friends,
and walking to commute for work all have different backgrounds and meanings.
That is why at Gokita Juku, we do not just look at the results of movement, but
carefully observe where that movement originates.
Do not look at the movement, but at the whole person.
This lecture was truly a time to deepen that perspective.
Afternoon Session | Adjust, Use, Strengthen
The afternoon is for practical training.
As Your Best Solution, we provide a step-by-step approach of
"Adjust, Use, Strengthen".

There are many therapists in the Tokai study group, but
Exercise is Therapy.
Therapy is Exercise.
is the concept we base our work on.
Practical skills will be performed in groups,
and we will proceed while engaging in repeated discussions.

discussions from the perspective of each specialist

while also reducing the physical burden on the caregiver?

observing and relaxing the brain, hands, body, and mind as a whole.

Observe the person as a whole, comprehensively.

Observe the whole, but also examine the parts.
Both are necessary.

It is not about what you do,
but how you observe.
How you touch.
In what state you are facing the person.
All of that
appears in the results.
Knowledge and skills are certainly important, but
more than that,
we value our own way of being.
What is Gokita Juku?
It is not just a place to learn knowledge and skills,
but a place to enhance comprehensive "human power," including virtue (humanity) and talent (expertise, business skills).
A place to rethink your own
"way of being," "way of living," and "way of working."
That is Gokita Juku.
I myself have continued to pursue the most advanced knowledge and technology. However, there was no "essence" beyond the cutting edge. The essence was not beyond expertise, but in the "way of being."
Member testimonials
We will introduce the impressions of our members.
We are also recruiting new members.
Gokita Juku is a place where
it is clearly divided between those who fit in and those who do not.
For those who want to acquire knowledge and skills in a short period of time,
it might not be a good fit.
However,
if you want to refine yourself starting from your 'way of being'.
If you want to learn the 'essence'.
If you want to polish both your expertise and your humanity.
For those who feel that way,
I am sure it will be a meaningful time.
Moving forward, I will continue to write little by little about
what the study group is like and
the philosophy behind why we continue to hold this space.
First, please try reading a few of the articles.
If something still resonates with you after that,
please come and see the atmosphere for yourself once.
Trial participation is also accepted.
If you feel a connection,LINEplease contact us via.
We will not force you to join.
I hope you will make your decision at your own timing.

Below are the conditions and other details.
Eligibility

・Those in professions related to mental and physical health
・Those who are trustworthy as individuals
Also, mothers with children are very welcome! Such a study group is probably rare 😊
(However, at this stage, we are limiting this to infants up to about 3 years old)
Our Goals
① To polish both virtue (human power) and talent (professional and business skills)
② To integrate treatment and exercise, Western and Eastern approaches, and everything else
③ To live freely, live your own life, and be happy without being bound by constraints such as time, money, or location
④ To utilize each other's values and maximize our respective potential
⑤ To pursue a way of being, living, and working that is future-oriented and suited to the new era
Finally
This place, called Gokita Juku,
is a place where I myself am also constantly questioning.
It is not a gathering of people who are already complete,
but a gathering of people who continue to question.
That is Gokita Juku.
See you in the next article.
