Thinking of the same two characters for 35 years. I want to support Aomedaka-san as they take on the Creative Awards 2026.
Good evening.
It's the rainy season, and it's a time of year when I feel a bit down. At times like these, I feel like touching upon someone else's "love" for something can warm the heart a little.
Today, I'd like to participate in the project hosted by Nozomin-san, “Won't you whisper your likes?”, and introduce a writer I am supporting.
This project is about expressing your "love" for the people or works you want to support through an article. (Or so it should be.) The feeling of rooting for someone makes the person writing it happy, too, doesn't it?
The person I want to introduce today is a novelist on note named Aomedaka-san.
I also had the pleasure of connecting with them a few months ago, and I have been reading Aomedaka-san's works ever since. When I find something I like, I often add it to my own magazine.
That Aomedaka-san is currently taking on the Creative Awards 2026.
In any case, they are prolific. A writer who is fun to follow.
First, what surprises me is the speed at which Aomedaka-san writes.
One of their representative works, "To the Endless End," has reached 41 works in about three and a half weeks since the prologue was published.
Moreover, they are not just writing this one work. They are serializing several other stories in parallel at the same time.
The total number of posts on note exceeds 1,500.

It's not like they are just repeating short story posts, either.
They also write miscellaneous notes and content introduction articles, but among them, the novels are generally long, and I have the impression that they are written at about 1,500 to 3,000 characters per episode overall.
When an entire chapter is posted, I feel like there are some works that exceed 10,000 characters in one episode. To be honest, I haven't been able to catch up with everything yet.
If you think about it normally, the speed of "reading" should be faster than "writing," but a reversal phenomenon is occurring here.
I think it's a terrifying writing speed, especially while also working a job.
I saw them write in a miscellaneous note that "my fingers hurt," so it doesn't seem like they are writing with telekinesis. I mean, if you write that much, your fingers would hurt, right... In that way, new stories are born one after another, so I can't keep up with reading them. But that is actually something I'm happy about.
There is always the joy of following them, wondering, "What will they write next?"
There are still so many works left that I haven't read yet.
I receive that richness from Aomedaka-san's activities.
Writing about the same two people for over 35 years.
Aomedaka-san is quite prolific, but what struck me most was something like a 'tenacity' hidden behind that speed.
The protagonists of 'To the Endless End' are the saint Nardia and the red-eyed youth Frey.
In fact, Aomedaka-san has been writing about these two for over 35 years.
In a post titled 'It's coming to an end, isn't it,' the author wrote the following:
It makes me feel very lonely that Nardia and Frey, who have been with me for over thirty-five years, are reaching their end and finishing in a way where they won't go on adventures anymore.
35 years. It's a dizzying amount of time. Does their first encounter go back to when Aomedaka-san was in their late teens?
Aomedaka-san has rewritten the story of these two many times, changing the titles and plots, such as 'Adventurer,' 'Sword of Darkness,' 'Black Blade of the Holy Saint,' and 'The Sealing Saint and the Bottomless Demon God.'
I tried various forms for it, and while I would get halfway through, I would end up stopping because the balance wouldn't work out, the story would have contradictions, or it would become monotonous.
Despite failing halfway through many times, they didn't give up and kept rewriting from the beginning. That long-cherished wish is now finally nearing completion with 'To the Endless End.'
Their love for the characters is also truly deep. The author expressed the loneliness of the story nearing its end like this:
It's the feeling of a father giving his daughter away in marriage.
I also saw that Aomedaka-san shared a notebook from twenty years ago containing a map of their creative world.
Aomedaka-san, who kept a notebook from twenty years ago with such care and is now taking it out again to use for their work.
I think I've already thrown away my own creative notebooks from when I was young. But seeing Aomedaka-san, I am moved once again by how creative activities and attachment to characters can take root in a person's heart for many years, even decades.
My top recommendation: 'To the Endless End'
Among Aomedaka-san's entries for the Creative Awards, the first one I want you to read is, of course,'To the Endless End'.
It is a dark fantasy about Nardia, a princess who is a saint, and Frey, a man with red eyes who harbors non-human power. In a world where humans and non-humans live together, the two throw themselves into various mysteries and conflicts across the land.
The charm of this work lies in its pacing.
Being kidnapped, attacked, bloodshed—dark developments that are by no means sweet continue. However, it doesn't end with just that heaviness.
In the midst of the seriousness, humorous banter is suddenly inserted. For example, Nardia, who was crying, suddenly says something like this.
You need me, right? (omitted) I demand better treatment. At the very least, carry me on your back!
Nardia is always just a normal young girl, isn't she?
I am also drawn to one sentence in the introduction.
This is a story about those who have been cast out by the world, yet still try to move forward toward tomorrow.
'Still try to move forward toward tomorrow.'
These words made my heart skip a beat. It is because I have always wished to share messages that make someone think, 'Even so, it will surely be okay.'
While depicting a dark world, the salvation of 'still trying to move forward' is firmly placed at its roots.
That is why I believe this story is not just painful to read.
If you would like to take a peek at just the beginning, please start from the prologue.
There are many other works as well.
Aomedaka-san is challenging the Creative Awards 2026 with many works.
(These are not re-submissions of past works, but newly written ones from this year. It's truly amazing...)
If any of them catch your interest, please take a look.
Zero One: Fragments of Wishes
Does She Dream of AI?

My Little Sister Is Destined to Be Killed in the End
The Sealing Saint and the Bottomless Demon God
The Journey of You, Me, and 'Something'
To think that they have been writing all these stories all by themselves. When I think about that, I feel once again how truly amazing it is.
Besides, it's not just Nardia and Frey that Aomedaka-san rewrites the same characters and stories for, is it?
Aomedaka-san writes with the strong feeling of never abandoning any character so even with completed works, you can encounter them again through rewrites.
Usually, meeting characters in a novel is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
But when you can reunite with them like this, we as readers also feel happy, thinking, 'Oh, we met again.' It was a strange experience, a little different from a star system.
I think the reason Aomedaka-san feels a sense of loneliness in bringing Nardia and Frey's story to a conclusion this time is precisely because they are the author who felt that 'Oh, we met again' feeling that we readers feel more strongly than anyone else.
That is what I think.
Finally
An author who is trying to lead a single story to its conclusion over the long span of 35 years. I am rooting for Aomedaka-san with all my heart.
Regardless of the results of the Creative Awards 2026, I think the very fact that they have continued to write this far is truly precious.
In an article I was reading the other day, it wrote about someone who finally made their commercial debut after repeating submissions for decades and hundreds of times. When I read that, I certainly remembered Aomedaka-san.
Please, I hope they are rewarded. I cannot help but wish for it.
And if you'd like, everyone, please join Nozomin-san's project and share your own 'love' for something.
Project participation is open until Saturday, June 20, 2026.
I ended up going beyond 'whispering' and into promoting it, didn't I...
Putting into words that you 'love' someone's work or activities is the greatest support you can give them.
And when you are writing down that "love," your own heart will surely be feeling a little warmer, too.
Nozomin-san, thank you for preparing such a wonderful project.
