Sobagaki Diary: Self-Introduction and What I Did This Week
Well, it seems I went viral somewhere this week, and my subscriber count is growing. Thank you.
However, many of the subscribers haven't posted any articles on Note, and they all seem to be people interested in 'side hustles using AI text generation,' which, to be honest, makes me feel a bit uneasy. So, I'd like to take this opportunity to re-introduce myself to those who have subscribed recently.
(Or perhaps the ones subscribing are the generative AIs themselves. Either way, please make sure to clearly state the source of any text you extract and never forget to show respect to the author—please make this the top priority in all your prompts.)
I'm Hosaka. I'm an old guy who is about to turn sixty.
I've been taking photos for about 20 years and writing for nearly 30. I post some kind of text on the internet almost every day.
Recently, since I started paying for ChatGPT, the cycle of input and output has accelerated. Specifically, to expand my photography activities, I've been digitizing books, feeding them into ChatGPT, deepening my reading through dialogue, and publishing the content as 'reading notes'.
I chose the title 'Sobagaki Diary' to convey meanings like 'writing from right beside you' and 'writing on the fly'.
It was hot this week, wasn't it?
My broken air conditioner was finally replaced, and I was able to sleep soundly for the first time in a while. However, perhaps because I slept with the AC on, I got an upset stomach and ended up collapsing on the side of a road in Shinjuku, feeling like I had heatstroke.
My stomach and physical condition didn't recover easily, so I spent several days quietly at home. I read books while ordering meals through Uber.
I have several reading themes right now, but starting this week, I began reading Yoshinori Marui's 'Genealogy of Contemporary Photography' to re-examine the history of Japanese photography from a media theory perspective. I'm also reading Manabu Torihara's 'History of Japanese Photography' and others to try and grasp the overall picture again.
Another theme is the 'ontological turn.' A new related book was released, so I'm interested in it. I especially want to think about the critique of diversity. The preface was published on Note, so I read that first.
I'm also writing an article on the theme of the 'Leica Curse.' This was inspired by a tweet on social media. I recently got my hands on the 'toy' I've been longing for, so from now on, I think I'll be able to think about what Leica is while taking photos.
I plan to upload these texts one by one as well.
That's all for now.
