[Short Short] The Delightful Confectioner

There was once a confectioner. A man who specialized in candy craft, he was pushing his limits to revitalize a town suffering from depopulation.

He would stretch the candy thin, layering it over and over. He made the candy, which was no longer candy but like thread, even thinner—thinner and thinner than a strand of hair.

One day, the candy, having surpassed its limits, ceased to exist. The man continued to spin the candy, which had become invisible to the eye, with single-minded devotion. The spun candy rode the wind through the open window and scattered throughout the town.

Rumors spread that the air in the town was strangely sweet, and tourists began to visit one after another. Having succeeded in revitalizing the town, the man still did not stop his work.

"More... I need more."

A few months later, the man was wrapped in a cocoon of candy. Inside the clear, transparent cocoon, the man's body began to change shape. Perhaps lured by the sweet scent, a pair of small twins appeared before the man's cocoon.

At the same time, a giant monster landed in Japan. The monster destroyed cities one after another and was closing in on the town the man loved.

The cocoon was about to crack open.
