Recommendation for a Simple Diet (1295 characters/3-minute read!) Savings | Health | Saving Money | Brown Rice | Bento | Dried Young Sardines | Pickled Plum | Nature | Food
I work as an office lady.
I am Manatsu, a prominent minority, and I work full-time as an office lady.
I always bring a bento for lunch at work, but the contents are extremely simple.
I cook one go (Wait, one go? Σ(゚Д゚)) of brown rice, pack it into a container, and just place a pickled plum and some dried young sardines on top.

It looks like wartime food.
I try to bring nuts as a side dish to go with it, but...
The contents of my lunch are always the same, and I keep eating it every single day... without ever getting tired of it.
People who peek into my bento usually say, "...It looks like wartime food" (laughs).

I am good at saving money.
I have developed a habit of saving money and am extremely good at it, so...
Just by making your own bento instead of buying lunch or eating out, you can save a tremendous amount of money.
Also, whenever I say this, it shocks a lot of people, but I've even managed to keep my utility bills to an absolute minimum...
I like a simple lifestyle
I keep my daily meals this simple because I genuinely enjoy it.
And because this style maximizes the value of the delicious food I eat on special occasions.
I lead a stoic dietary life on a daily basis, but I eat whatever I like during my weekly date, when having lunch with friends, or during celebrations.
Otherwise, you'd have to ask yourself, 'What am I living for?' (laughs)
Maximizing the value of gourmet food
Even incredibly delicious eel or sushi would just taste ordinary if you ate it every day, right?
Yakiniku that you eat once in a while. Japanese sweets you haven't had in a long time. By intentionally setting rules for yourself, you can maximize the value of delicious things to the extreme.
Also, it is important to eat when you are hungry. The saying 'hunger is the best spice' is truly well-put.

A common pitfall
I could make a few more side dishes for my bento, but I am extremely lazy...
If the process is too troublesome, I won't keep it up, and there's no point if I don't keep it up.
Getting so fed up with the hassle that I end up eating out every day is a pitfall I want to avoid.

Finding your own style
So, I acknowledge my own traits and make it a simple habit that I can continue.
Just cooking brown rice and packing it. Even for someone like me, a total outlier like Manatsu, this is something I can keep up.
What kind of style can you keep up? What form suits you? If you try various things, the perfect method will come into view.
What are you eating?
However, people who make amazing things like character bentos for their children are truly noble...
Whenever I see things like that, I look at them with eyes of respect, thinking, 'What is this...'
What kind of things do you usually eat? Do you usually make bentos? If you'd like, please tell me about your style too♡
