Rin Kiki's Note Sitemap | Books, Libraries, Parenting, and Writing
Introduction *Last updated: June 25, 2026*
Thank you for visiting.
I am Rin Kiki.
It is pronounced "Kiki Rin."
I am a librarian working in a library,
a mother raising a 4-year-old daughter,
and someone who writes while staying close to books and words.
I call myself a Book Share Coordinator,
Connecting books and people.
Connecting words and daily life.
These are things I hold dear.
The motto of this note is,
Reading x Writing x Parenting.
About books.
About libraries and librarians.
Days spent with my daughter.
Using writing to organize my feelings.
Reading someone else's work and putting its charm into words.
In this sitemap, I will guide you through Rin Kiki's note by theme.
Just like standing in front of a bookshelf,
"Which book should I read today?"
as you choose.
I would be happy if you could feel free to take a look from wherever suits your current mood.
The one piece I want you to read first, my best work
I am writing the sequel to the books I could no longer read.
I wrote about the time when I, who had loved books since I was a child, became unable to read text due to an illness.
It is not that I came to hate books.
I still loved them, but I could no longer read them.
I think that I, who had connected with the world through reading, was trying to reconnect with myself through writing after I could no longer read.
Right now, I am working at a library while writing.
To those who love books but cannot read them right now.
To those who have lost the capacity to receive words.
To those who are struggling to live well, yet are still trying to get through today.
This is a work I poured my heart into, packed with the reasons why I read books, write, and work as a librarian.
I am entering this in the essay category of the 2026 Creative Awards.
This is the first article I want to hand to those visiting for the first time, as well as those who have been reading my work for a while.
For those who want to know more about Rin Kiki
Rin Kiki's Guide | Connecting through Librarianship, Books, and Parenting
What kind of books have I read?
Why do I work at a library?
Why do I write?
What kind of activities am I involved in?
This is a long self-introduction that summarizes my journey so far and my reasons for writing.
If you would like to know a little more about the person called Rin Kiki, please come this way.
Three articles with high view counts that I want you to keep reading
From the articles I have written so far, I would like to introduce three that have high view counts and that I would like first-time visitors to read.
Coincidentally,
Me as a librarian.
Me as a mother.
Me as a writer.
These three pieces show each of these sides of me.
1 | What is it like to be a librarian? #MyJob
I wrote about everything from my childhood dream of becoming a librarian, to the reality of the job I learned after actually working, and the reasons why I am still proud of this work.
People who work in libraries don't just sit at the counter checking books in and out.
This is the first piece I want to hand to anyone interested in libraries or the work of a librarian.
2 | The letter I couldn't read was the greatest 'love' of all
Before my daughter could even write, she gave me a letter.
All that was lined up on it were scribbles and dots.
I couldn't read it as words, but it was packed with more 'love' than any readable text could hold.
This is a parenting essay that looks at a child's growth and the feelings that exist before they become words.
3 | What makes a good essay?
Is a good essay one that you can empathize with?
Is a good essay one that introduces a new perspective and makes you nod in agreement?
I wrote about what I've thought while reading many articles on note and continuing to write my own.
This is a piece that will let you know what kind of feelings I have when I write.
Thematic Sitemap
From here on, I will guide you through articles by theme.
1 | For those who want to read about books and reading
I write about book recommendations, reading essays, picture books, and the one book that has stayed with me throughout my life.
'I want to find a book that suits me right now'
'I want to read, but I don't know what to read'
'I want to peek into someone's bookshelf'
If you feel that way, please start here.
Book Recommendations
Novels, essays, practical books, children's books, and picture books.
I have compiled articles about books I've read and books I've cherished throughout my life.
Reading Strolls
This is a series that connects actual scenery and the changing of the seasons with encounters with books.
Instead of stopping just to read a book, I remember books while walking and living my life.
I write about those small moments of reading.
2 | For those who want to read about libraries and librarians
I write about what I have felt while working in a library, the work of a librarian, and the library as a place that connects books and people.
The seasons seen from the return shelf.
Conversations with people looking for books.
Interactions with children and their parents.
What is necessary for a library to be a place where anyone can belong.
These are articles I would like those who love libraries and those interested in the work of a librarian to read.
Work-related
I have compiled articles on working, as well as my 'Librarian Memos' where I write down thoughts I have as a library librarian.
3 | For those who want to read essays on parenting and daily life
I write about the small scenes I encounter in my days spent with my 4-year-old daughter.
Nights spent reading picture books.
A back running a little further away each time.
Words received unexpectedly.
Days when I couldn't do things well as a mother.
Rather than conveying the 'correct' way to parent, I am preserving these fleeting moments that might otherwise be forgotten once they pass.
Daily Essays
I have compiled essays that include not only parenting, but also life with my husband, work, and things I have felt in my daily life.
Even if they aren't special events, there are small stories within ordinary days that I want to write down.
4 | For those who want to organize their thoughts through writing
In order not to leave my feelings behind in the midst of busy days.
Through 'writing,' I write articles that look at my own heart and life.
Days when I can't do my best.
Days when I am tired of human relationships.
Days when I don't know what I want.
At such times, I leave behind questions to help me return to myself, if only a little.
Love Your Life—Organizing through writing.
This is a self-coaching journal for observing your own feelings and tendencies, as if creating an 'owner's manual for yourself.'
Without rushing for answers, I put what is inside me into words, little by little.
5 | For those who want to encounter someone's work
Beyond writing my own pieces, I am also engaged in activities where I read others' works and put their appeal into words.
If I were to write a book band for this work
I read works submitted to the Creative Awards 2026, and
'If I were to write a book band for this work'
from that perspective, I create book band copy and introductory blurbs.
Condensing the appeal of a long work into short words.
It is a project I continue with the hope that those book bands will help new readers discover these works.
Click here for more about the project.
Everyone's Word Notebook
This is a participatory project where we each write stories or essays based on the same theme or opening line.
When the writer changes, completely different scenery unfolds from the same sentence.
Participating works are collected in this magazine.
6 | For those who want to read about me now
Every Sunday morning, I post a 'Weekly Report' reflecting on my creative work, job, parenting, and daily life.
The first half is free, and the second half is for members only.
I also include things I don't write about much publicly, but want to share with those who support me, in the second half of my weekly reports.
Please see the article list here for the latest posts.
Rin's Word Library
note Membership
The theme is,
Reading x Writing x Raising.
It is a place like an online library that delivers small margins to your busy daily life through books and words.
Reading walks.
Book prescriptions.
Love Your Life.
Librarian notes.
Weekly reports and slightly personal essays.
Rather than lively interaction, I aim for this to be a place you can quietly drop by whenever you want to read.
You are very welcome to just read.
There is no need to force yourself to comment or interact.
I would be happy if you could open the articles you like at your own pace, just like walking between the shelves of a library.
There is also a small bookshelf outside of note
While note is currently the center of my output, there are other places where I keep books and words.
Blog | Rin's Word Library
This is a personal archive where I introduce the books I have read.
You can search for books by genre, such as novels, practical books, children's books, and picture books.
I also keep articles about movies, parenting, and daily life here.
Although I mainly update on note now, this is a precious place where the book articles I have written so far are stored.
Newsletter | Rin's Word Correspondence
This is a small newsletter delivered via email about books and words.
Even if a piece of writing gets lost in an SNS timeline, with email, you can keep it in your inbox until you are ready to read it.
You can subscribe for free.
Audio Streaming | Rin's Word Channel
I deliver talks about books and readings through my voice.
While doing chores.
While walking.
For just a few minutes before sleep.
On days when your eyes are a bit tired from following text, I would be happy if you came to listen to my spoken words.
YouTube | A Bookshelf of Videos I Want to Start Someday
I have also quietly set up a YouTube channel.
I haven't started full-scale broadcasting yet, but someday I hope to deliver book introductions, readings, and recreations of dishes that appear in books through voice and video.
This is a place I created so that I wouldn't keep my "someday" dreams only in my heart.
It is still a nearly empty bookshelf, but I hope to nurture it little by little.
X | Small Seeds Before They Become Words
I post notifications about my note articles and things I feel in my daily life.
It is a place where I keep small seeds of words, such as realizations before they become long articles or thoughts I have after reading someone else's work.
Finally
Thank you for reading this far.
Books.
Libraries.
Parenting and daily life.
Writing about my own feelings.
Reading someone's work and conveying its charm.
Things that might seem separate at first glance are, within me, all
Reading x Writing x Raising.
It connects to these words.
It is okay if you do not follow every single article.
A day you want to find a book.
A night you want to read about parenting.
A morning you want to look a little closer at your own feelings.
I would be happy if you could pick up a piece from the shelf that suits you at that moment.
May this sitemap be a small entrance where you and words can meet.
Likes, comments, and follows are also very encouraging.
I hope you will keep one book's worth of Rin Kiki's words in the corner of your bookshelf.
Sincerely, Kiki
