Are product sales schools suspicious? I am amazed by a business style that hasn't changed in 10 years
Things that haven't disappeared after 13 years
This is a story from 13 years ago, when I first stepped into the world of e-commerce.
At the time, I was a complete amateur.
I didn't understand OEM, mall algorithms, or ad operations.
I was in a state of 'just wanting to grab onto something'.
And while I was looking for someone to teach me e-commerce, I ended up choosing between two people.
Both seemed to have a track record.
Both seemed attractive.
In the end, I chose the person who kept in touch with me for a long time.
I think I decided based on sincerity rather than flashiness.
13 years have passed since then.
The other day, while I was casually scrolling through Instagram,
the person I 'didn't choose' appeared in an ad.
And to be honest, I was surprised.
Are they still doing the same thing?
META ads are excellent.
Once you click on a related ad, one ad after another of the same type will appear.
Then what catches my eye is,
・No inventory
・Zero capital
・4 billion yen in annual sales
・Zero risk
And,
・Only 3 seats left
・◯ hours until registration closes
・Countdown timer
A structure that has hardly changed from 10 years ago.
Honestly, if you look at the content, it's obvious.
The methods are old.
And the hype is strong.
Of course, I cannot say for sure whether he was doing a business targeting the uninformed 13 years ago. I was not in a position to judge at the time.
However, I can say for sure now.
That 'this is a business that sells expectations, not reproducibility'.
Also, many business schools of this type are expensive. They probably want to make a quick profit and get away with it rather than helping people continue.
Why don't these types of schools disappear?
The reason is simple.
It is because the number of beginners is overwhelmingly large.
・Anxious about current income alone
・Want a pillar of side income
・Want a trigger for independence
・Don't want to be tied to a company
These feelings never disappear in any era.
That is why the market does not disappear.
And the more of a beginner you are,
・No knowledge
・No experience
・No criteria for judgment
You have all three of these.
Then what happens?
You react to "words."
Zero capital.
Zero risk.
4 billion yen in annual sales.
Strong words move strong emotions.
However, if you do business based on emotions, you will almost certainly lose.
What are people who are actually making money doing?
This is important.
People who are truly continuing to sell do not,
・No inventory
・Zero risk
・Zero capital
Use these words in the first place.
Because,
I know that such a convenient structure does not exist.
To make a profit, you need:
・Sourcing
・Pricing strategy
・Advertising strategy
・Inventory management
・Cash flow management
A realistic structure is necessary.
And more importantly,
people who are truly winning do not teach the very weapon that makes them the most money.
This is not a criticism, but a discussion of structure.
Profit sources are meant to be protected. That is obvious.
That is why I always think:
"Is the school making money, or is the product sales business making money?"
If you look at this, you can see the essence.
The path I did not choose
13 years ago, I chose someone else.
As a result, I reached 200 million yen in annual sales in e-commerce, and
I also won the Rakuten Shop of the Month award twice.
I also experienced failure.
That is why I can say this now:
You should look at the structure, not flashy words.
・Anyone can earn money without inventory
・100% reproducibility
・For a limited time only
I have no intention of gathering people with such words.
I sell "judgment."
What I want to do
I have been involved in e-commerce for over 10 years.
I have experienced both success and failure.
That is precisely why, right now,
I want to teach designs that focus on profit and purpose rather than how to win in competition.
Profit, not sales.
Structure, not hype.
Reality, not illusion.
If there are any readers of mine who are:
・Someone trying to start something out of impatience
・Someone whose heart was slightly moved by flashy advertising words
then please check whether that business
is structured to build up your life.
Things that haven't changed in 13 years
Advertising has evolved. Platforms have changed, and AI has emerged.
However,
the "business of selling by stimulating anxiety"
has not changed from 13 years ago.
And it will likely continue to exist to some extent in the future.
This is because anxiety will never disappear.
I want to be on the side that helps refine judgment rather than stoking anxiety.
This is my stance.
I happened to write this article because I saw someone who didn't choose that path 13 years ago.
But that became an opportunity for me to reaffirm my own stance.
I am no longer in a position to criticize businesses that prey on the uninformed.
I have simply reached a position where I can understand things by looking at their structure.
If you are going to learn something,
I think you should look at the "design" rather than the "words."
Whether or not you can see through to the essence of value is what matters most. In today's capitalist society, businesses that prey on the uninformed might be inevitable in a sense.
