[NENE vs BMSG Part 2] Something I want HONEYs to know: Why I expect an answer from Chanmina
Several months have passed since the BEEF broke out. Since NENE's radio appearance, there have been no notable developments, and the commotion has gradually subsided.
As of now, the only person who hasn't provided an answer in this BEEF is Chanmina. In such cases, a BEEF usually ignites the voyeuristic nature of heads, and voices saying "If you're a rapper, answer with a song!" fill the internet.
However, things are a little different this time.
The voices not asking Chanmina for an answer are louder.
There are mainly two reasons.
1. Concern for her health after childbirth
2. Fans who are not particularly interested in BEEF culture in the first place
Indeed, I think everyone should prioritize their health, and since Chanmina has left us with so many achievements, fans wouldn't leave even if she didn't participate in the BEEF.
However, as a huge HIPHOP fan with 7 years of experience as a head who goes to concerts 2-3 times a month, I still expect an answer from Chanmina.
This time, I would like to let all the HONEYs know the "merits of participating in a BEEF" and convey why barbaric BEEFs are valued in HIPHOP.
I am just one head, so I cannot speak professionally, but I am confident that I can summarize it in words that are easy for HIPHOP beginners to understand.
I will keep it brief, so please stay with me until the end.
1. Misunderstandings can be resolved.
First of all, a BEEF is not just for attacking the other party. By competing, getting your claims across to the public is also a major role of a BEEF.
In this BEEF, the points raised by NENE are mainly the following three.
1. Isn't Chanmina ripping off NENE?
2. Isn't HIPHOP being looked down upon?
3. Aren't fans failing to listen to the message deeply?
*Details are summarized below.
On the internet, I often see opinions that Chanmina's past songs are already an "answer." Indeed, the lyrics contain many expressions aimed at enemies, and it can be interpreted as content that would sting NENE.

However, none of Chanmina's songs are a "direct answer" to the points mentioned earlier.
"Shut up! I'm just pissed off, so don't get involved with me!!"
I can hear voices saying that, so I want to write this carefully. It is perfectly natural to be surprised when an artist you support is suddenly attacked. Even we heads were shocked by the intensity when we first encountered BEEF culture.
But with that in mind, I want to say this.
"If you think about it calmly, isn't there quite a disadvantage to completely ignoring this BEEF?"
When digging into the BMSG side, there is indeed an aspect of attracting customers with an idol-like vibe, but it is clear that they are actively engaged in cultural enlightenment activities after thoroughly instilling their message in their fans.
But if things continue like this, won't those efforts fail to reach the layer that only listens to NENE's music? If the criticism contains misunderstandings, then if you clearly answer and bring the facts to the surface, it won't be difficult to recover your props (evaluation in the scene).
(*This is just my "delusion"...
I think NENE herself might be choosing expressions that intentionally invite misunderstanding. This is because a BEEF with no answer becomes a structure of "bullying," which is also disadvantageous for NENE.
I am imagining, perhaps presumptuously, that she is intentionally choosing words that force the other party to correct them, thereby increasing the likelihood of receiving an answer.
② Because it is a chance to earn respect.
Since beef often involves expressions that attack the other party, those unfamiliar with hip-hop often frown upon it. If taken out of context, it might seem to contradict the BMSG message of,
Climbing to the top, but not kicking others down.
Not fawning, but not denying anyone.
Being yourself, and therefore loving others.
might seem to be an act that goes against the beef is a perfect opportunity to earn respect in reality.

In fact, as mentioned above, SKY-HI has been praised by many heads for this matter. This is because, despite having the option to ignore it, the act of responding is nothing less than respect for hip-hop culture.
Actually, in other beefs as well, it is not uncommon for both opposing parties to have their reputations enhanced compared to before the beef.

As a premise, heads respect them for respecting the culture simply because their rap is cool. If you are going to rap poorly, I think it is better not to answer at all.
But, isn't Chanmina's rap purely cool?
Therefore, I think there is a chance for Chanmina to enjoy respect right in front of her now.
People who first learned about beef through NENE's song might have a biased image, but it is not necessarily required to use vulgar phrasing. Chanmina has the skill to answer while maintaining elegance, just like SKY-HI and YZERR, I believe.
③ Contribution to the hip-hop scene

Furthermore, participating in beef can help boost hip-hop culture.
"I don't care what happens to hip-hop!!"
"I just want to enjoy my favorite artist!"
Various voices are overflowing on the internet.
But, please wait a moment.
Isn't protecting and boosting the culture a very important thing for our lives as people who love music?
The background to why we are able to enjoy Chanmina's music includes the fact that she made her presence known to the world through the "High School Rap Championship." Furthermore, if HIPHOP had not flourished over the past 50 years, we would not have been able to enjoy RAP MUSIC (in any genre).
Looking at the reactions to this BEEF, I don't think the values of HIPHOP have fully permeated yet. I, too, still have so much to learn. Even so, there is no doubt that HIPHOP has already had a major impact on general society.
This is a very important point, so please allow me to use strong language.
"I want to listen to idol rap, but I don't care what happens to HIPHOP." Saying this is equivalent to saying "I want to eat rice, but I don't care if the farmers are being unfairly exploited." I believe.
Bonus
I predict that Chanmina will return an answer.
Chanmina has always betrayed her fans' expectations while delivering performances that far exceed them. Doesn't it feel like now, when there's an atmosphere of "It seems like she won't answer. Even if she doesn't answer, Chanmina is the best, right?", is exactly when Chanmina is likely to release an answer?
(((Sorry if I'm wrong!!)))
However, whether she answers or not, there is no doubt that Chanmina will continue to deliver wonderful music in the future. I think there are also significant risks in participating in a BEEF, so I will respect Chanmina's decision above all else.
Getting along well with HIPHOP
I love HIPHOP, but I have no intention of denying idols or POP music at all. Also, no matter how wonderful HIPHOP is, I think it is dangerous to take every word of a rapper at face value.
However, I hope that as many people as possible will come into contact with the values of HIPHOP. Even those who like idols or POP should be able to find the appeal of HIPHOP. Just as many of us Japanese go to Hatsumode at the beginning of the year and enjoy Christmas at the end of the year, I believe that life becomes richer by coming into contact with diverse values.
I have seen moments that change people's lives for the better, such as the birth of Rap Star, many times. I am undoubtedly one of them.
I pray that this BEEF will help HIPHOP flourish even further.
