How Journaling Changed My Reality: How I Escaped Days of Inaction Just by Writing
Hello. I am One Heart, a piano instructor and mental coach.
Thank you for always reading my posts.
Your follows, likes, and comments here on note are each a great source of encouragement for me.
Today, I want to share my own personal experience of how my reality gradually changed by "writing things down."
That is the story I'd like to tell.
Write down your wishes and they will come true.
The Law of Attraction.
It's a phrase I hear often, but honestly, I felt skeptical somewhere inside, wondering, "Is there really such a sweet deal?"
But before I knew it, my reality had started to shift.
Unexpectedly, I realized things had "come true."
And not just as superficial 'luck,' but as grounded, tangible changes.
Passing the AdSense review for my WordPress blog and starting to monetize it
Increasing my followers on note and starting to sell paid notes and magazines
Being able to cover the rent for my piano room in Kawasaki with my own income
Getting an unexpected handshake at Kaoru Watanabe's lecture
Getting an unexpected front-row seat at a Takarazuka performance...
...These are just a few examples.
There were many other times when I thought, "Oh, this again?" as events kept overlapping.
It's not that everything I wrote down came true exactly as I wrote it.
But ever since I made "writing" a habit, the flow of my reality has clearly changed.
The way money circulates, my connections with people, my intuition—everything began to move, little by little, but surely.

When you keep on "writing," reality starts to shift little by little.
In truth, ever since I quit my music teaching job, my income had been negligible.
Although I wanted to "earn money on my own," I was fumbling in the dark, not knowing what to do or how to do it, and I felt nothing but anxiety as I failed to see the results I wanted.
Also, while I kept thinking I wanted to start something new, I couldn't find the motivation and just let the days pass by... those kinds of days continued for several months.
But... as I continued journaling, before I knew it, I had decided to relocate, acquired my ideal piano room... and over these past two years, my life has changed significantly.
However, what I am introducing this time is,the "even more recent changes" that have occurred over the past four months or so.
I have a real sense that the accumulation of writing is quietly accelerating.
For example...
✨My WordPress blog passed the AdSense review.
Although I had a history of blogging, I had applied over 10 times while thinking, "It's impossible anyway," and was rejected every single time.
Eventually, I went into resignation mode and left it alone for a while, but... this year, I suddenly felt inspired and decided to try applying one more time... and
it passed.
After that, revenue started to trickle in, and it was the moment I felt, 'Oh, I can actually do this too.'
*I have also written about this experience in detail on note
'Wait? I passed?'GoogleAdSense'

✨The next change was in my posts on note.
Around March, the number of my followers increased dramatically, and my paid notes started selling regularly.
What was particularly impressive was receiving comments of deep empathy, such as 'Reading this article really touched my heart.'
I now believe that the reason I became able to write 'words that resonate' is because I had a habit of organizing my inner self.
✨And being able to cover the rent for my piano room in Kawasaki with my own income.
It wasn't about the numbers; the feeling of 'supporting this space' was significant to me.
The realization that I was 'becoming independent'was the moment that quietly led to self-confidence.
*The story behind this piano room is written in detail in another article.

✨Furthermore...
Being able to meet Kaoru Watanabe in person at her lecture and shake her hand.
Winning a ticket for the front row at the Takarazuka Tokyo performance, which was a surprise.
Neither of these were things I wrote down in my notebook as wishes.
Even so, they were events that gave me the experience of 'the more aligned you are, the more reality starts to move on its own.'
None of these were'overnight successes' or 'dramatic miracles.'But each change came in a form appropriate for a 'well-aligned self.'
That is the movement of reality that I am experiencing right now. That is the movement of reality that I am experiencing right now.

Why does "writing" change reality? Understanding the mechanism.
Why does the simple act of "writing" move reality so much?
Let's unravel this a little from the perspectives of brain function and psychology.
꙳✧˖°
Writing clears the brain's working memory
By putting the thoughts and emotions in your head onto a notebook, the brain's "workbench"becomes clear.
As a result, it becomes easier to see what to prioritize, and you are less likely to be swayed by unnecessary anxiety or distracting thoughts.
Even if it seems like a small change at first glance, your decision-making and actions start to align with your own core.

The brain's filter (RAS) reacts to what you write
The brain has a mechanism that preferentially picks up information it deems "important!"
You naturally start to notice things you have focused your consciousness on.
I myself have experienced this function firsthand.
It was a while ago, when I started thinking, "I really want a Mac after all."
Then, whether I was at a cafe or a coworking space, I started noticing people using Macs everywhere.
Even when I opened social media, most of the posts from people I was interested in featured a Mac...
I thought, "Wow, there really are a lot of Mac users," and when I told my husband, he calmly replied, "No, Mac users don't even make up 20% of the total," which surprised me.
That's right.
It wasn't that reality had changed, but rather my "perspective" had changed. My brain had decided that this was important and started picking up the necessary information.
In brain science, this filter-like function is called RAS (Reticular Activating System).
Journaling triggers this same process.
By putting the things you "want to do" or "want to achieve" into words and writing them down,
your brain decides, "Oh, this is important information," and you naturally become more likely to spot related information and opportunities.
I now feel that writing is also the act of "aligning" the focus of your consciousness.

When you put emotions into words, attachments and anxieties are quietly released.
"Anxiety," "impatience," "confusion"...
If you keep these emotions trapped only inside your head, they amplify.
However, by writing them out, you can see them objectively, reaching a state where you can "simply observe your emotions without getting caught up in them."
Ultimately, this is also a process of regaining the power to return to your own core.
Writing doesn't create magic that warps external reality, but...
However, when you are centered within yourself, choices and encounters that are appropriate for that state are quietly drawn to you...
That is the reality I am feeling right now.

Writing is a quiet dialogue for "knowing yourself"
“I know myself”...
most people live their lives thinking this.
Certainly, you might be able to answer superficial things immediately, like your favorite foods, the type of people you dislike, or what kind of clothes you wear.
But...
Why did I react so strongly to those words?
Why did I unconsciously back down at that time?
Where exactly is the future I truly desire?
How many people can confidently answer these questions right away?
For a long time, I also lived my life thinking I understood myself.
However, as I continued journaling, there were times I would pause at the words I had written over and over again.
"Wait? Is this what I was thinking..."
"Why do I keep writing about the same theme over and over again?"
In those moments, assumptions and true feelings I hadn't even realized myself would suddenly emerge.
"Knowing yourself" means letting go of the "assumption" that you already do.
The facets of myself that I could only discover through writing are what make me who I am today.
Feeling that way is now my greatest treasure.
And perhaps that was the "starting point" where my reality began to change.

You can write alone, but I needed a "space" to keep it up
I started journaling entirely in my own time.
Without any special methods or anything, I just wrote whatever came to mind in a notebook.
But that small act gradually organized my thoughts and emotions.
However, there were days when I couldn't keep it up on my own.
When I didn't feel like writing, when I couldn't think of a theme, or when my head was a mess.
That is exactly when"the feeling of quietly running alongside someone else"gently pushes me forward...
That is the reason why I continue my membership today.
In my membership,
I deliver a "Weekly Journaling" prompt with a new theme every week.
Even if it's just a few lines, accumulating time to face yourself—
I truly feel that this alone changes the depth of your thinking and the quality of your actions.
📔By the way, these are the themes we are writing about in July.
Week 1: Finding the "true feelings" hidden behind wanting to do something but being unable to move
Week 2: When you're tired of "having to do" things, what is it that you truly desire?
Week 3: Picking up small "I did it" moments and turning them into seeds of confidence
Having these themes allows you to start writing without worrying about "what should I write?"
Little by little, your own outline begins to emerge.
You can continue to spend that kind of time for just one coin (500 yen per month).
It's not about "writing to change reality," but rather
"by knowing yourself, reality changes naturally"...If you are drawn to that way of being, why not join us and write together?

The change where reality started moving because I wrote is surely still in progress...
I intend to keep watching over my future self while I continue to write.
I hope you have a day filled with "love" today as well.
