[Daily Report] I watched Maya Kiryu vs. Aja Kong. (Cure Nile)
Welcome. I am Cure Nile.
I write a tremendous amount of text every day, and I have no intention of letting anyone read it.
It would be a huge mistake to think that just because I went to watch NOAH, ChocoPro, and student pro-wrestling during Golden Week, and couldn't find my way back from Itabashi, Takashimadaira, or Ichigaya, that I wouldn't be able to return to Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling (TJPW).
This article mimics the writing style of social columnistSoichiro Gyakufunsha.
If you are interested, why notpurchase the magazine.
Last time, I talked about how Maya Kiryu would be facing Aja Kong in Shonandai.
I had mixed feelings of anticipation and anxiety regarding this match.
This is because Aja Kong is a formidable opponent, and looking at her record and achievements so far, I thought it would be quite difficult for Maya Kiryu to win.
However, I knew Babe was serious about this match and was fired up, and since I was actually moved when I watched the match, I decided to write this article.

The Odakyu Line stops
The Shonandai Cultural Center, where the match was held this time, is located just a short walk from Shonandai Station, a place where both the Odakyu Line and the subway stop.
I intended to take the Odakyu Line from Machida to Shonandai.
I had no intention whatsoever of eating local food there, so I decided to leave the house after watching WWE Backlash.
Even if I watched the main event of John Cena vs. Randy Orton, I would still arrive about 15 minutes before the doors opened, and since I wasn't feeling my best, I wanted to minimize the time I spent outside.
Then, although I arrived at Machida Station, a personal injury incident occurred on the Odakyu Line, causing the entire line to be suspended, and it was announced that service was expected to resume around 12:50 PM.
The match starts at 1:00 PM. You must have understood that this was a pretty desperate situation.
Even when I asked the Yahoo app for a route from Machida Station to Shonandai, it only showed routes using the Odakyu Line, and the taxi stand was extremely crowded, so I was in a state of total confusion.
I almost used the free stock photo that Hyper Misao, who announced her absence the day before, provided for us, saying, 'Please use this when you're cornered.'

However, I am not the type to give up easily.
I'm not familiar with trains, so I didn't really know which route to take, but Grok 3, developed by that guy Elon, led me to the answer.

It said that if I went to Yokohama and then headed to Totsuka to transfer to the subway, I would arrive at Shonandai.
The Yahoo app basically only suggests the shortest or cheapest routes, so it lacks flexibility in times like these.
And so, I decided to trust the route suggested by Grok and head to Shonandai.
As far as I could check, I would arrive at Shonandai Station at 1:01 PM.
Arriving at the station one minute after the match start time.
Since it's a subway, considering the time to get to the surface and the horizontal travel to the venue, it would be calculated that I would arrive at the venue about 10 minutes late.
However, the match doesn't start exactly at 1:00 PM, and Announcer NAMBA might do 30 minutes of rakugo as a pre-show (though I'd like to see that), or Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) might whimsically start singing 5 songs.
Anyway, I had no choice but to go by that route.
1:03 PM

I went to Yokohama as Grok said, transferred at Totsuka, and came to Shonandai.
And I ran like Van Damme in Hard Target.
And I arrived at the Shonandai Cultural Center at 1:03 PM.

The Shonandai Cultural Center has a unique appearance, looking like a Lucrehulk-class core ship that would be shot down by concentrated laser fire if a war started.

It seems it was a hint for the development of the Death Star, but in terms of technology, it is a completely different thing.

When I entered the venue, the Mayor of Fujisawa and the Superintendent of Education were participating as guests that day, and even Fuji-Q♡ was there and giving a greeting.
Yes, as in previous years, thanks to Kami-yu's groundwork, there was an event like a donation to a scholarship fund at the opening, so Announcer NAMBA was able to fill the time without having to do acrobatic sermons.

And, as usual, there was a song corner by Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling), and the match began...
Match 1: 20-minute time limit, Tag Match: Miu Watanabe & Miho Ashida vs. Haru Kazashiro & Kira Summer

Starting from this match, as announced the other day, the new referee Fumirin (Fumi Rin) was to officiate.
Fumirin is actually arakugo performer, is bilingual, has a radio show, and likes sumo, which is a lot of information, and on top of that, she is a graduate of student pro-wrestling, making her a presence that caused a stir in the community.

The dad with his child in the seat behind me couldn't hide his surprise, saying, 'Isn't Miu-chan's back amazing...!!?'

When Ashida's Miffy is in a tag match, there's a strange affinity when she teams up with a wrestler who sings their own entrance theme.

Haru Kazashiro recently finished watching the first season of PriPara, so she's starting to understand the truths of the world. She'll probably soon despair at the overwhelming power of the CelePara Opera Company, but she has the potential to join the title scene by the time she realizes that Pepper Taiyo was modeled after Pickle.

I love it. Haru Kazashiro's arm attacks.
Match 2: 20-minute time limit, #WAY Match: Rika Tatsumi vs. Arisu Endo vs. Ivy Steel

Rika Tatsumi, who calls herself the Goddess of 3-Way matches, dominated the match by, as usual, not participating in it, but on this day, she also toyed with the other two outside the ring and did whatever she wanted.
Match 3: 20-minute time limit, 6-woman tag match: Suzume, Haruna Neko, Chika Nanase vs. Yuki Aino, Raku, Pom Harajuku

The 3-year-old, as if she had found a new toy, greeted Bun-rin at the top of her lungs as usual, saying, 'Please let me play!!', and cornered her, but Bun-rin retorted, 'I'll let you play!!', and was already blending into TJPW.

The 3-year-old started shouting, 'Let's make a wave!!!!', and was creating a wave in this venue just like you would at an outdoor sporting event.
Since Raku's train of interest today was the 'Enoden,' I briefly wondered if she was paying homage to the 'Enoden Bicycle Guy'.

Basically, the long-standing love triangle team does whatever they want, but Princess of Princess Champion Suzume demonstrates why she is the champion at key moments, and Chika Nanase also creates highlights by aiming for the Inari Torii Kai. As for Neko, her normal attacks are scratching, which is considered a foul, so referee Bun-rin was strict with her (in the first place, this promotion has an unusually high number of wrestlers who incorporate foul moves into their normal attacks).

A three-year-old child makes Suzume flinch with a loud shout, but at that moment, she covers her teammate Yuki Aino's ears before shouting, which moved me with its logical consistency in professional wrestling.

I suppose that means Pom Harajuku has a heart of mercy.
4th Match: 20-minute time limit, tag team match: Yuki Arai, Moka Miyamoto, HIMAWARI, Shizuku Takami

I was finally able to see Yuki Arai after she changed her costume.
It clearly strips away more idol elements than her previous outfit, and I could feel her determination to go all-in on professional wrestling.

Shizuku Takami locks in a Koala Clutch, but she gets hit with a full nelson buster and loses.
5th Match: 20-minute time limit, tag team match: Mizuki & Shino Suzuki vs. Miyako Hasegawa & Kaya Toribami

Mizuki entered the ring carrying a hammer, but it wasn't really used for anything.
At Mizuki's command, Shino Suzuki is made to climb to the top turnbuckle, but as was clearly stated by Hyper Misao during the members-only show, 'Shino Suzuki cannot climb the corner,' and Shino was unable to climb it.

And finally, the match everyone was waiting for was about to take place...
Semi-Final: 15-minute time limit, singles match: Aja Kong vs. Maya Kiryu

Babe has cut her hair and recolored it this week, so you should be able to tell that she is more fired up than usual.
Her most trusted allies, Suzume and Haruna Neko, are in her corner, so her support system as an 'ojimago' is perfect.

And then, Aja Kong makes her entrance, taking her time as always.
Babe's expression is calmer than ever; it even feels like she has reached a state of enlightenment.

The weight is 1140±60g, and the capacity is 19.25±0.45 liters.
After the referee check, when asked for a handshake, Aja refuses.
Then Babe begins to point things out, saying,"It's a square tin, isn't it? It's a weapon, right? You're trying to hit me with it, aren't you?"The square tin is Aja Kong's signature weapon, an indispensable item for her extremely dangerous fighting style.
Babe is not here to make memories today; she is focused on winning, and she tried to eliminate the weapon that could lead to her defeat.
Even the invincible boxer Floyd Mayweather, before his match against Tenshin Nasukawa, had his entourage check to see if there was anything hidden in Nasukawa's gloves and made him remove all his tape to disrupt his concentration.
Since even Mayweather uses such mind games before a match, it is not at all shameful for Maya Kiryu to use such methods to gain an advantage over Aja Kong, who is clearly the stronger opponent.

However, Aja tries to justify the square tin by pulling out a witty retort derived from her long career:"So what? That's part of my body. Is there a problem with that?"Furthermore, she tries to mentally shake Babe by saying,
"Do you think I'm going to use that (the square tin) on you? Apologize."

Babe declares her seal on apologies, saying,"I won't apologize today! Today, I will beat Aja Kong without apologizing!"I felt my soul tremble as I overlapped Babe's 'no-apology' declaration with the blurred lines between reality and fiction in the words CM Punk spat out during his feud with Seth Rollins, and I felt deeply moved, ready to nod quietly, thinking, 'So Maya Kiryu has started talking back to Aja Kong...'

However, five seconds later, when Aja closed in on her again, she immediately started apologizing and turned into a coward.

And when the match started, Babe entered her signature apology stance, and just as she began to say, 'I said I wouldn't apologize, but I apologized...', Aja rolled over, avoiding the apology.

Aja unleashed chops and her signature elbow drop, and Babe, taking them head-on, immediately faced a crisis.
Aja Kong is a veteran of the highest order, but as seen in Meiko Satomura's retirement match the other day, she still intends to remain in her prime, and I felt a spirit that suggested she could end the match at any moment.
However, Babe was not one to just take it lying down.
She landed several elbows, succeeded in bringing Aja to her knees, and continued to attack, eventually managing to lay her out on the mat.

And then,"I am very sorry for apologizing even though I said I wouldn't."She used a complex expression, like a lucid dream from Nolan's 'Inception,' by apologizing for apologizing.
She then tried to lift Aja in quick succession, but due to the massive size difference, she failed and was countered.

Yes, Maya Kiryu's signature moves, the 'Kotei Rogyo' and the spinebuster, are both throwing moves, and if she can't lift Aja, her only path to victory is a Boston Crab.
However, even for a Boston Crab, she would have to lift those thick legs, which is unrealistic.
In fact, Maya Kiryu had no cards to play to defeat Aja before the fight even began.

Then, Aja Kong slammed Babe with a high-speed brainbuster, told her "You small fry!"—something Yuki Kamifuku would say—and followed up with a lariat, leaving her with no way out.

However, Babe stood up again and, of all things, pulled out a thumbing move, which is Yuki Kamifuku's signature move, poking the Super Beast in the eyes to block her vision. Babe, in the hometown of her former tag partner Yuki Kamifuku, quoted this move. I felt an emotion that words cannot describe.

I felt an emotion that words cannot describe.
Then, after knocking her down with a shoulder tackle, Babe, of all things, began to climb the corner.

She climbed to the second rope, put her hands together, and jumped onto the lying Aja. Diving Apology-style Knee Drop... Moka Miyamoto had prepared a new move for this occasion. Looking back, when 121000000 took the tag belts from the giant duo WWP at the Ariake Coliseum on March 18, 2023, Maki Itoh used a diving headbutt, and there was already a precedent that diving moves are effective against opponents with a clear size difference. Moka Miyamoto fused that logic into her own fighting style and character, sublimating it into the Diving Apology-style Knee Drop. I thought she could win like this, but the battle-hardened Aja Kong kicked out at two.

She went for a second Diving Apology-style Knee Drop, but this time Aja dodged it, and Babe hit her knee hard on the mat, sustaining damage. Diving moves are a double-edged sword, and one must also consider the risk of failure. If the move had landed as it was, Aja Kong might not have been able to stand up.

Then, Aja Kong took out the oil can she had said she wouldn't use on someone like her and hit Babe on the head. She then scored a fall with a lariat, but she kicked out at two. Babe hasn't given up on the match. She stands up again, but this time a backdrop lands, and it's a three-count. It was a heated battle, but Moka Miyamoto was defeated...

And after the match, Aja Kong praised Moka Miyamoto, saying things like "You weren't a small fry" and "You made me use the oil can," and raised her hand in victory, while Babe was carried away by Suzume and Neko.

Main Event: 20-minute time limit, one-fall tag match: Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara vs. Maki Itoh & Touga

For some reason, Fujikyun♡, the mascot of Fujisawa who also appeared in the OP, came along with OberEats. Maki Itoh started complaining about the presence of Fujikyun♡, who was participating in the match for some reason, and tried to unleash a merciless attack, but Kamiyu-san acted as a shield and stopped her. Maki Itoh caused an incident at the end of last year where she tore off Pokotan's head, so Fujikyun♡ cannot be let down either. The ring is just like the harsh Mexico.

Then Kamiyu-san started explaining Fujikyun♡'s charm points, explaining the yacht ears and the Enoshima hat. The Enoshima hat had a Sea Candle stuck in it, and when she tried to show it, she poked the Sea Candle into Maki Itoh's eye. To me, the Sea Candle looked just like a coffee container bought at Starbucks.

And when the brawl moved outside the ring, Touga, influenced by Itoh, unusually grabbed Wakana Uehara's towel from the audience and started choking Wakana Uehara herself. This is a technique often used by the Saito Brothers in All Japan. Touga tried a weapon attack she wasn't used to, but she had an expression that wasn't bad, and her inner ferocity was seeping out.

In the end, Kamiyu won with a Jumping Famouser to bring glory to her hometown, while Maki Itoh kept giving the middle finger to Fuji Kyun♡.

At the end, they talked about their hometowns and elementary school teachers, and since it was Mother's Day, they thanked their families, and the event concluded.
Autograph session
On this day, Hyper Misao, whom I always go to see, was absent due to a right-hand injury, so I only went to see Maki Itoh and Maya Kiryu.

I subscribed to TrillerTV and got an environment where I could watch Maki Itoh's matches in GCW, so I talked to her about her recent one-on-one match against Miyu Yamashita.
After WrestleMania, Maki Itoh has been using Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls," which is the entrance theme for MDK (Maki Death Kill) in GCW. When I asked if there was a deep meaning behind it, I got the answer, "For me, I'm waiting for Nick (Gage) to return," and "Well, there are various things."

Then I went to see Babe.
Babe's first words were, "I somehow managed to come back alive," she said with an exhausted expression.
When I asked about the Diving Apology Knee Drop, I was able to hear the story behind the development of the new move: "To counter Aja-san, I needed a move other than lifting, so I thought about it and developed that move."

In her backstage comments, Aja Kong said,
Well, two years ago I teamed up with Maya here, and I clearly stated that Maya is not a loser. Today, halfway through, I teased her a bit by saying she was a loser... but she tried hard, didn't she? I mean, if she can try that hard, she should try that hard all the time, her too. That's why I even used the steel can that I thought I didn't need to use on you. But well, it was fun, and I hope Maya continues to grow from here on out. Next time we face each other, I hope you properly blow Aja Kong away, that's what I'm wishing for.
she commented.
As Aja-san says, when Babe's switch is flipped, she becomes a ruthless powerhouse like a gunslinger in the Mexican wilderness, and she hides power that surprises those who watch her.
You might only recognize Babe as "the person who apologizes," but if you watch her match against Aja Kong, you should be able to see how incredible Babe is when she gets serious.
Babe fought a formidable opponent in Aja Kong, and although she lost, in the process she gained the option of "not apologizing" and was able to develop a new move.
I don't know how this match will affect Babe in the future, but it has been completely proven that she has become stronger because of this.

It has been decided that TJPW INSPIRATION will be held for the first time in a while on 6.28 at Shinjuku FACE.
This event is a show where you can see rare things, such as people who don't usually appear in TJPW participating, or matches held under true hardcore rules.
You probably noticed that one of the cards is"Daisy Monkey vs. Maya Kiryu & Gabai Ji-chan"Yes, Gabai Ji-chan, who had a great match with Maya Kiryu two years ago and received rave reviews from the community, is coming to TJPW for the first time in a while.
And as Maya Kiryu's tag team partner, no less.
Maya Kiryu has been categorized as an "old man" by Suzume and Haruna Neko, and they are saying that the old men will form a tag team.
You never know what an old man is thinking, and you have no idea what they will do.
Just as Maya Kiryu's earnestness and Gabai Ji-chan's completely inscrutable tactics caused a chemical reaction and sparked, I think Suzume and Arisu Endo will be confused by them teaming up this time, and they might even cry out as they step into unknown territory.
I want to see this unknown match, and the Inita venue creates such a unique atmosphere that your brain might just burn out.
Opportunities like this don't come around often, so those who can make it to the venue should definitely go.
