with 50% reality and 50% creative storytelling.

It's more like

a story of my own sweat, tears, and anxiety, and also

my MacBook that got sticky from the sea breeze,

that kind of reality is in here.

There was a time when I seriously thought this.

It's like

trying to find AirPods dropped on a sandy beach of note.

How did I, who was seriously depressed back then,

manage to go from there to

being told that.

After quitting my job as a company employee and moving to an island,

I started a note, but...

For some reason, I was facing the subtly painful situation of

being told "Nice to meet you" every single time

by the same readers.

I would get likes, but my presence would just melt away into the sea. I felt like, honestly,

the gravel of the note world.

Stepped on, but never noticed.

"What even is a note that gets read...?"

While feeling frustrated by that thought,

I spent time on a harbor bench reading through over 1,000 articles,

and I, having fallen asleep like a piece of dried fish,

wandered into the "Island that answers note troubles" in my dream.

The first one to appear was

an old woman of words wearing a tangerine-patterned apron.

"Yesterday you used polite language, the day before that a friendly tone, and before that you were suddenly a philosopher."

"You're lower than a cat."

She said, and I was knocked out with a single punch right at the start.

From there,

• Write with a "politeness that sounds like spoken language"

• A sense of distance with "the politeness of talking to a cat"

• The magic of "taigendome" (ending sentences with a noun) to refine your sentence endings

• Use inner voices and dialogue to make your writing "look like a movie"

In another dream, I encountered a Suzuri Fox in a pure white forest.

It told me, "Color is the 'blood of your worldview'."

I was made to realize how my scattered eye-catching images

were in a state of "scrap art from a school festival."

From there, I decided on a "Hakata Blue" which would become the

"official attire of Ippobito Island"

design color axis and

started building a worldview where people would gradually understand,

"This eye-catching image is Ippobito."

And now—

Having organized the "air and scenery of the island," which are the voice (tone of writing) and color (look of the worldview), I am now reading through notes again to meet

I would quietly fall asleep.

My recent dilemma.

It is...

"What exactly are you trying to convey?"

That

self-inflicted sharp retortfrom myself to myself.

So, when I looked back through my notes—

......I'm completely a "jack-of-all-trades on the island."

Looking at it from the reader's perspective, it goes like this.

Honestly, there are so many attributes that I'd need four resumes.

No wonder the readers are confused.

Reflecting on that

While I was reading through helpful notes at home

Before I knew it

I had face-planted onto the tatami mat and fallen asleep.

(*There is a theory that tatami mats are a shortcut to dreams)

😴 In the dream: Meeting 'Master Kokorozashi' on the temple stairs

When I opened my eyes,

for some reasonI was in front of a temple with stone steps that looked like an infinite loop.And at the top of those stairs—

And at the top of those stairs—

A monk with a bath towel draped over his shoulders that said 'Ambition' (Kokorozashi)was sitting there.

Seriously,he had such an intense presence.

His name is 'Master Ambition'.

🧑‍🦲 'Hmm, you... you're lost on your theme, aren't you.'

Me: "Th-theme..."

For some reason,

the moment I was called "lost"

somewhere in my heart,

I thought, "Yes, that's correct."

The monk nodded slowly and

said in a deep voice.

"note is a journey.

If the purpose of the journey is vague...

the reader will get off the boat halfway."

Monk, that's suddenly too poetic.

Me: "I want to write about all sorts of things!

About the island, how I work, moving, know-how, my outlook on life..."

But it's all scattered...

Even I don't know 'what kind of person I am' anymore...!"

As I finished desperately pouring out my worries—

The monkclutched his stomach and burst into laughter.

Hey monk, have some sentiment.

🧑‍🦲 "You want to write about everything?

That's just...

like a tourist brochure for an island."

Ugh...!

That analogy is way too perfect.

It's true,

"Cats, ocean, sunset, dried fish, work styles, entrepreneurship, life philosophy, and we even have crabs!"

It's like that

where there are so many highlights that you don't even know what kind of island it is.

The monk, still laughing,

patted me on the shoulder.

The monk's hand was strangely warm.

Probably the heat of his ambition.

note isn't about 'what you write'.

It's about 'what you want to deliver' through your note as a whole."

In that moment—

a mysterious 'gong' (temple bell) sound effect rang out in my brain.

Whoa...

...That hits so hard.

It struck right into my heart.

The monk is probably the type who would at least polish up these kinds of famous quotes.

It's frustrating, but I also find myself feeling moved.

Looking at the screen—

on the dream-spec smartphone, three note accounts are shining and lined up.

No, the way you summon them is so modern.

It's kind of like,

it feels like Pokémon GO.

🧑‍🦲 "Here. These are the 'masters of themes.'"

Hey, watch your tone.

It's totally like a raid boss introduction.

🐚 What I learned from the "first account" summoned by Osho

Osho showed me on his smartphone with a flash

his first note account.

It was Aozora Roger-san's

article, "How to escape from being a hired salaryman?"

And, three seconds after reading it, I thought:

"Oh, this... it's that 'thematic consistency' that I'm worst at..."

Because Roger-san's article

has an 'arrow' pointed straight at the reader.

[My inner thoughts]

"It's completely decided who it's written for...!!"

It's a direct hit right from the start of the article.

It's clear "who" the reader is,

so they don't get lost at the entrance.

"Roger, the direction you want your readers to change in is so consistent...!"

In contrast, my note is...

"I hadn't decided who I was writing my note for..."

"Crying over a cat" -> "Working is tough" -> "Life philosophy" -> "Entrepreneurship?" -> "Crabs have too many legs"

The emotional roller coaster for the reader is way too intense.

A crow was nodding along next to me.

(Wait, a crow?!)

"A theme that shows the reader's 'future' is the strongest."

Roger shows them a future where

"You, the office worker, become free."

A straight path from "Office worker -> Freedom."

I realized this after looking at Aozora Roger's articles.

Rather than "what to write"

"who to write for"

"where to take the reader"

is the theme.

🐚 The second account summoned by the monk

The moment I read Ryuma's article

a bell rang in my brain.

"Oh, concepts are born from original experiences."

Everything

[The pain, joy, and discomfort I actually felt]

can be created from that.

After reading Ryuma's article,

I realized.

"Oh, I... I was throwing all these 'heart-jolting' moments away."

・The moment I cried at the sea breeze
・The moment I felt my life was over in the office restroom
・The moment I got inexplicable courage from a line of crabs

I usually treated them as "weird memories," but

actually, all of these were original experiences = the entrance to connecting with readers.

Why was I throwing them away?

My original experience.

For me, "the past where I gave up on my first choice".

The night I was too tired of the city

and cried, saying "I can't do this anymore."

In other words, a theme isn't something you create by trying to look cool,

"it naturally wells up from the moments that hit you hard in life"

That was all it was.

I won't hide it anymore.

I will take everything and make it

“the original experience of a step-person” = the source of the theme.

Even the crow next to me was nodding.

(Hey, since when did you become a side character?)

🐚 The third account the monk showed me

On the monk's smartphone

a third article flashed brightly.

That was Arapapa-san's

“note concept design”.

First, let me say this.

“How to create an account concept,”

“can it really be summarized this systematically!?”

I couldn't help but speak out loud while reading it.

“This should be a textbook for elementary school.”

Like that.

I bet even the crows are nodding along next to me.

And then, I realized by about the third line of reading.

"Oh, I... my concept creation,"

"I've been doing it entirely on 'guts and vibes' until now."

Arapapa-san

brings out this golden multiplication, you see.

At that moment, this is what happened in my brain 👇

= "Ippobito (Chaos)"

No, if you multiply them, it actually gets more intense!!

More intense than an energy drink.

The brilliance of Arapapa-san's article is really this.

"Your whole life, just as it is, is your differentiation, you know?"


which, depending on how you hear it, is

either a "powerful encouragement" or

a "powerful reality," a punch where you can't tell which it is.

But I realized.

・The story of crying on the island
・The story of breaking down in the office restroom
・The story of how a cat saved my life
・The story of crabs just lining up
・The story of despairing over burning dried fish

It was all "value".

In other words, my note was a place to sell

a "set of overly eccentric life experiences".

When I realized that,

the monk tapped me on the shoulder and said.

🧑‍🦲 "Look here, your differentiation is all lying right there."

Shut up.

But he was right.

🏯 Teachings of Monk Shi: Themes are not difficult

At the top of the stone steps, the monk

for some reason snapped his brush pen open at high speed.

Then he scribbled three questions on the paper with a thud.

🔶1. "What are you writing for?"

🔶2. "What kind of expression do you want the reader to have?"

🔶3. "What do readers call your island?"

The monk put down his brush

After the dream

I decided.

"Life can always be your 'first choice'"

I decided to make this

the "axis" of my note.

Why?

Because I myself was

someone who had given up on being a first choice for years.

During my time as a company employee

・Zero confidence

・Physically exhausted

・Mentally fatigued, concentrated like an espresso

・Had less freedom than a cat on an island

I moved to an island,

felt the sea breeze,

made eye contact with a crab,

and realized, "Oh, I can still start my life over."

That is precisely why

for those who

are thinking, "I actually want to live as my first choice,"

I want to deliver a story that helps them take back that first step.

That is my "aspiration."

As long as that comes through—

Even if the content you write is scattered, it all connects into a single line.

・Solo entrepreneurship

・Philosophy

・Island stories

・Crabs (they appear occasionally; they are too free-spirited)

All of these are merely materials for readers to

The theme is not "what to write."

“what you want to deliver through your entire note” is.

It is fine for articles to be scattered.

You can write anything in your note.

But if you have a single core purpose,

a single path will smoothly form on your island,

a "straight path where readers won't get lost".

As Priest Kokorozashi says,

"Themes aren't difficult. The question is what's important."

So, when you introduce your note to a friend, how do you think they would describe it?

If your reader were to introduce your note to a friend,

what would go into the “XX” of “The XX person”?

This is the theme axis itself.

1. “The person who solves XX problems”

Example:

• An ally for people struggling at work

• Someone who saves note beginners

• Someone who tells the reality of moving

• Someone who organizes their life through writing

A state where readers remember you when they have a problem.

2. “The person with the XX worldview”

Example:

• Someone who writes stories about islands and ways of living

• Someone who turns life's uncertainties into laughter

• Someone who breaks down philosophy in an accessible way

• Someone who talks about the reality of solo entrepreneurship

• Someone who treats crabs with strange care (strong niche)

A state where readers support you for your entire worldview.

3. “The person who gives you the first step toward XX”

Example:

• Someone who helps people who can't take action move forward

• Someone who gives a push for career changes/relocation/side hustles

• Someone who stays by your side on days when your heart feels heavy

• Someone who lowers the hurdle for writing

If you are described as "You = The 'One Step' Person",

that is the strongest position.

As an 'Ippo-bito' (One-Step Person), you are

"Someone who gives you the one step to return to your first-choice life"

It feels like this becomes the 'core' that binds all your writing together.

When these come together,

your 'island sign' = thematic axis is created.

It is okay if the things you want to write about are scattered.

As long as everything is directed toward 'one aspiration',

that alone makes the entire body of work into a single story.
