Could your work be turned into a book or film? The 'note Creative Awards' are now open for entries! #CreativeAwards2022

[Updated April 28]
The results have been announced! Please check them out via the article link below.

note is hosting the 'note Creative Awards,' an open-genre submission contest! We aim to help outstanding works get published as books or adapted into films with the cooperation of KADOKAWA, Gentosha, Diamond, and TV Tokyo.

Works posted to note with the contest hashtag '#CreativeAwards2022' will be judged by the five companies. For creators selected for the Grand Prize and Excellence Awards, note will provide support while they hold meetings with the awarding companies to discuss potential book publication or film adaptation.

There are no restrictions on the genre of the work, such as novels, manga, non-fiction, or business. The format of expression can be text, images, videos, or a combination of these. There are no limits on word count or the number of images.

We created this 'anything goes' contest because we want to encounter new forms of creation that aren't bound by existing frameworks. Please create with total freedom. We look forward to receiving your best work!

Company Judges

KADOKAWA

Judges:
KADOKAWA Da Vinci Brand Department: Takahiro Kawato, Koichi Ito, Junichi Sekiguchi, Shun Yamazaki

Comment:
We have always pursued the 'ideal book format for the content' in our editorial work. Since this 'Creative Award' has no restrictions on genre or format, we expect to see many free-spirited works that are not bound by existing conventions. What kind of book can best convey the appeal of that content? We look forward to thinking about this together with you as we create books.

Gentosha

Judges:
Gentosha Comics: Michiyo Fujita
Gentosha Editorial Department: Yudai Sugiura, Yu Iwahori

Comment:
Gentosha has met many creators on the note platform and worked together with them to create works.
We are filled with joy and anticipation to be participating in this memorable first 'Creative Award'.
There are no restrictions on the genre or format of the submitted works. We look forward to encountering works born from free and open ideas.

Diamond, Inc.

Judges:
Diamond, Inc. Book Editorial Department: Yumiko Kanai, Fumio Kamei, Ken Taneoka, Reiko Tanaka

Comment:
While we specialize in the 'business' genre, we also handle a wide range of fields including children's books, practical books, and essays. Many of our projects have been sparked by note, leading to hit titles such as 'Super Language Techniques to Capture Hearts' (Kotaro Abe), '0-Meter Journey' (Yu Okada), and 'I Want to Hurt You Who Are Indifferent' (Daisuke Muramoto).

We are now in an era where 'anyone can be a creator.' The boundary between 'famous' and 'unknown' has disappeared when it comes to publishing a book; a single piece of content can spread on social media and change someone's life overnight.

Everyone has their own original and unique 'knowledge, experience, and perspective.' Please try to convey yours in the most attractive way possible. We believe there are 'seeds of bestsellers' sleeping within that can move many people's hearts. We are committed to engaging with your content seriously with that belief.

We are especially rooting for 'first-time authors' with all our might.
We look forward to your one-of-a-kind works!

TV Tokyo

Judges:
TV Tokyo Streaming Business Bureau: Taku Matsumoto, Yuriko Mamiya, Tomohiro Goda

Comment:
We are very happy to be able to participate in the memorable first 'Creative Award.' TV Tokyo has worked with creators in the past through projects like the drama 'Someone Else's House (Tentative)' and '100-Character Ideas Turned into Dramas' based on note scenario submissions, as well as comic essay awards (such as the adaptation of 'The Diary of a 38-Year-Old Divorced Single Woman Who Tried Matching Apps'). We hope to meet many creators and works that we can collaborate with on video adaptations, primarily dramas, this time as well.

note

Judges:
note Directors: Kotomi Mihara, Yui Shimura, Shun Morisaka, Honami Toda

Comment:
We are very pleased to be able to hold this contest with the cooperation of four companies—KADOKAWA, Gentosha, Diamond, and TV Tokyo—to support the broad success of all our creators.

Our mission at note is to 'ensure that anyone can start creating and keep creating.' As the word 'anyone' implies, we are calling for a wide range of works for this contest, regardless of genre or format, so that all creators can participate. We have not set any detailed regulations such as word counts or page limits, and combinations of expression methods, such as text and video, are also possible. We look forward to encountering free and new forms of creation unique to the internet age. We look forward to receiving your best work!
