What is freedom, anyway?

Being able to go where you like.
Being able to choose what you like.

That is also freedom.

But perhaps true freedom
is having a heart that is not bound by anyone.

You don't have to compare yourself to anyone.

It's okay if you can't do things well.

If you can smile just a little more
than you did yesterday, that is enough.

The wind blows without deciding where to go.

Birds fly in the sky without asking anyone for permission.

Flowers don't ask anyone,
'Is it okay if I bloom in my own way?'

All of nature
knows the meaning of freedom.

So I, too,
will slowly begin to unbind my heart.

Not bound by the past,
not afraid of the future,
living in the 'now'.

Each and every step of that
surely leads to a freedom that is mine alone.
