I don't want you to end up like me......
If you feel even the slightest abnormality, I want you to gather your courage and go to the hospital! That is my wish...🙏 *Note* Because this is a disease specific to women, there are graphic descriptions regarding menstruation, etc. Please be careful if you are sensitive to such topics.
◈ The trigger for going to the hospital
From the end of 2024 to the beginning of the year, I was struck by a particularly severe physical illness.
I had a high fever (it would go up to 39°C and then go down)
At the end of the year, I was on my period, but the bleeding wouldn't stop (for about two weeks, and the amount was heavy)
The abdominal pain was also terrible😵💦
It was no time for a Happy New Year!
At the start of the new year, I looked for a place near my house with a female doctor and rushed there! (By this point, I had no choice but to make up my mind and go!!)
◈ The past me
My menstrual cramps had been gradually getting worse over the past two or three years, and the amount of bleeding had also been increasing, but... (I should have gone to the hospital at this point!)
The hurdle for visiting a gynecologist felt high, making it difficult to go, and I also arbitrarily decided that I was just reaching menopause, so I left it alone.
(Self-diagnosis is absolutely forbidden! If you feel even the slightest abnormality, gather your courage and go to the hospital!)
An over-the-counter painkiller specialized for menstrual cramps called 'Loxonin Premium Fine' worked well for me, and if I took it twice a day, I could somehow manage both the fever and the pain.
I think this was also not good. (Loxonin itself is not to blame.)
When I was younger, I used to record my basal body temperature. The trigger was irregular bleeding, but looking at my basal body temperature chart, it occurred right at the boundary between the high and low temperature phases, so I judged it to be 'ovulation bleeding'.
However, I was still anxious, so I did gather the courage to go to a gynecologist once.
I think I was in my late 20s? I remember getting a cervical cancer screening and feeling relieved that it was negative. And that was it...
◈ Why did you leave it until it got that bad?!
My husband was transferred for work several times, and since I'm not fond of gynecologists, it was also a hassle to find a clinic that suited me.
However, until it got this bad, it was just normal menstrual pain.
(It's hard to say what 'normal' is, but it was at a level where I could endure it without taking medicine, or it would subside with acetaminophen like Tylenol.)
I don't think the amount of bleeding was that heavy either. I rarely had irregular periods, and there were no abnormalities in my vaginal discharge. It was just that I would have a little bit of bleeding or brown discharge between periods.
But as I wrote earlier, I didn't worry about it, thinking it was ovulation bleeding.
◈ When I clearly felt something was wrong
I think it was probably these past two years... (I'm not entirely sure, though.)
The frequency of irregular bleeding gradually increased. At first, I would be startled and think every time that I had to go to the hospital (but I didn't go...).
For about the last year, the irregular bleeding has been quite frequent, the amount is fairly large, and it has the color of fresh blood. So, I'd be like, 'Is my period starting? Oh? Is this irregular bleeding?'
It feels like I've just gotten used to it (Hey!! There have been plenty of things to point out since a while ago, right? lol)
But what made me think that this was finally getting dangerous was the change in my vaginal discharge.
A large amount of watery discharge started coming out...
(There was no smell, it was truly just a mysterious, thin liquid.)
Panty liners couldn't handle it, so I ended up wearing small, regular napkins all the time... This was around the end of the summer of 2024.
◈ And then, into the legend...
This is no time to be joking!!
I started having frequent high fevers, and I reached a state where I couldn't let go of Loxonin.
(However, there were times when I wouldn't have a fever at all, and times when I wouldn't have pain, which was a nonsensical situation...)
And as mentioned above, I finally made up my mind to go to the hospital.
To the next story
