Why I Wrote a 14-Part Series on Career Change and Career Development (My Personal Experience)

Thank you for always reading my articles.
I usually share things I love and daily insights, such as
Starbucks tours, whirlwind solo trips, and the world of credit cards and point-earning activities,
which people often call 'madness'.

Since the number of people reading my articles has been increasing lately,
today I would like to talk again about
'Who I am'
and
'Why I am writing career articles.'
I have experienced various types of work so far.

Accounting
(Responsible for everything from daily bookkeeping to final closing and statutory reports at a 100% subsidiary of a listed company)

Corporate Planning
(Formulating management policies, short/medium/long-term plans, legal affairs, and public relations)

Human Resources
(Recruitment, talent development, and performance evaluation)

Urban Development
(Urban redevelopment projects, real estate development, and residential land development/sales)

HR and Labor Affairs
(Payroll calculation)

It might look like a smooth path when listed like this.
At times, I have worked as a specialist,
and at other times as a generalist.
But in reality, it was different.

I am not a special person.
While working, I have often thought about things like,

'Is this company right for me?'
'What are my strengths?'
'What is the work I really want to do?'

I have struggled and suffered during job hunting.

I have felt depressed when I wasn't evaluated as I had hoped.
I have lost sight of my future.

My career has not been smooth sailing.
.Rather, I think I have spent more time worrying, getting lost, and standing still.

That is precisely why I feel I can understand the feelings of those who are struggling with the same issues.

Also, bysharing what job seekers want to know, such as the type of talent companies are looking for from the perspective of a recruiter, and the profiles of people who can succeed in a company,

I hoped to provide some support to help solve their problems, even if just a little.

Why did I write career articles?
While looking back on my experiences, I started to think,
'I want to leave this experience behind.'
It is not just for my own sake.
If there is someone like my past self,

who is struggling with job hunting,
who is searching for their own core during a career change,
who is over 40 and receiving continuous rejection notices,
who wants to know the perspective of a recruiter,
or who thinks, 'I don't have a career worth talking about,'

If there is someone with the same thoughts, maybe it could be a hint for a solution, even if just one.
Maybe I could gently offer support and walk alongside them through these articles.
That is what I thought.

I have finished writing all 14 parts.
This series started with a free prologue,
and from the first to the 14th part,
I kept writing while facing my own experiences.
Honestly, it was not easy.
There were things I didn't want to remember.

There were times I struggled while writing.
Even so, the reason I was able to finish it to the end
is because I had the desire to deliver it to people who have the same worries as my past self.

Both my career articles and my Starbucks whirlwind solo trip articles are part of me.
You might wonder, 'Why do you write about Starbucks even though you write career articles?'

The reason is simple.

Because both are me.

Because they are interesting.Because they are fun.

I like Starbucks.
I like traveling.
I like credit cards and point-earning activities.
And I also like thinking about my career.
The accumulation of such daily life
makes me who I am today.
That is why I will continue to share
my career,

Starbucks,
travels,
and the things I love,
all in my own way.

If you are interested,
Thank you for reading this far.

And if you are
worried about your career,
thinking about your future way of working,
wanting to read someone's real-life experience,
or looking for hints for a career change or job hunting,

If you think so, please start by reading the free prologue.
This career article series is a record of my personal experiences based on my own life.
I am sure there will be parts that overlap with your own life somewhere.

please do read it starting from the free prologue.
I am grateful that we were able to meet here.
