Not Calling Common Sense Common Sense
I wonder when it started for people.
Because everyone says so—is that the only reason why we started locking away our hearts?
Reading the room.
Conforming to others.
Not making waves.

That may indeed be necessary wisdom for living in this society.
However, there are far too many people who lose sight of their true selves within that cage called common sense.
They smile even though they really want to cry.
They say I'm fine even though they are actually suffering.
They act tough even though they really want to be loved.

Before we know it, people learn only how to live correctly and forget how to live as themselves.
Yet, those who have changed history have always been outside the bounds of common sense.
In an era bound by class systems and desire, Buddha taught that attachment is what creates suffering.
That was an idea that overturned the common sense of the time.

Socrates spoke of the wisdom of ignorance.
He conveyed that admitting you know nothing is true wisdom.
But people feared that.
As a result, he was judged.
Nietzsche said, God is dead.
That was not a denial of God.
It was a cry that the era of relying solely on values decided by someone else was coming to an end.
In other words, words that truly touch people's hearts always begin with uncommon sense.

So if you are feeling that life is difficult right now, it is not because you are weak.
Rather, it may be proof that your soul is quietly crying out, This cannot go on.
Buddha taught,
It is more noble to conquer yourself than to conquer others.

The modern age is an era of comparison.
If you open social media, someone's success flows by.
Someone's happiness.
Someone's romance.
Someone's wealth.
And people end up feeling like they have nothing themselves.
But what is truly important is not to live someone else's life.
Live your life to the fullest.
Flowers each have their own season to bloom.

Cherry blossoms bloom in spring, and sunflowers bloom in summer. Cherry blossoms do not look at sunflowers and worry that
they are behind schedule.
Yet, humans alone compare themselves to others and blame themselves.
But your true self is a much freer being.
Those who have known suffering can become kind. Those who have known loneliness understand the pain of others. Those who have shed tears can save someone.
Therefore, you do not need to be ashamed of your weaknesses. Rather, those very wounds will become a light that illuminates someone in the future.

Common sense is nothing more than a majority vote. As times change, justice changes. Values change, too.
In the past, those who spoke of their dreams were laughed at. It was said that
living only for what you love was naive.
But now, many people are finding courage from those who live authentically.
In other words, common sense is not absolute.
That is precisely why you do not need to lie to your own heart.

If you are tired, rest. If you want to cry, cry. If you want to love, love.
It is okay if people do not understand you. Because a way of life that is understood by everyone from the start does not exist in this world.
Even so, you must never abandon yourself.
For you, who shed tears alone in the quiet of the night and yet survived today, possess a strength that no one else can see.
The world values only flashy success. But what is truly precious is
the act of living anyway.
Even while suffering. Even while lost. Even while wounded.
It is the heart that still tries to believe in tomorrow.
Do not call common sense common sense. Do not entrust your life to someone else's values.
Please, listen to the voice of your own soul.
Your life is not meant to fulfill someone else's expectations.
It is meant for you to love yourself.
And those who have taken the long way around possess a deeper kindness.

So it will be okay.
Even you, who are currently in solitude.
Even you, who are lost in love.
Even you, who cannot see the future and feel crushed by anxiety.
Your life definitely has meaning.
That meaning will surely, one day, become a light that saves you.
