Heisei Diva Edition! [Baton Relay Project] The Midsummer Night's Dream Never Ends! "Mieharu Karaoke Late Summer Version" 11
Well, we can finally see the finish line.
The 2024 Baton Relay Project
(I am allowed to hold a baton relay in the town of note only once a year (or so I believe))
I can't keep up, I can't keep up
This is amazing!
The Mieharu Karaoke Baton Relay!
This is a joint project with my sworn friend, Mieharu-san!
The number is incredible!
205 people (176 people two days ago, yesterday!)
With two weeks left, I thought we might reach about 200 people, but everyone is passing the baton at such an amazing speed!
It has become the second largest, following the 2020 first baton relay project "Reviving Heritage" with 372 notes!
For me, note projects are like networking events in the real world. A place where many people connect...
And we are connecting through the primitive, shared experience of karaoke—no, music.
That must be why it has spread so much.
As proof,
noters who are meeting for the first time are connecting more and more! Looking at the comments, noters who followed the baton are commenting on people they've never met before, saying things like "Excuse me for jumping in" or "This is my first time commenting."
This is the kind of world I wanted to create...
Everyone,
it looks fun to pass the baton, and it looks fun to receive it
This is the kind of world I wanted to create...
The people receiving the baton are saying things like,
"I knew about this project"
"I thought it had nothing to do with me, but then the baton came my way"
"I'm so happy I could participate"
These voices are overflowing.
This is, truly, a community.
The baton has become a common ID for the community! There is nothing more wonderful than this!
Well, I'll share my various thoughts in a summary article later,
let's enjoy it!
Mieharu Karaoke x Baton Relay runs until September 30th!
Let's all keep dreaming a little longer!
So everyone, thank you for your support.
Now, what's today's song selection...?
I have also received the baton.
Anchor Declaration
Yosshaman-san, Ponko-san, Mekko-san, noka-san
I humbly accept the baton.
And,
Sora-san, Kurotama-san, Soi-sensei, thank you for your hard work as anchors.
Thank you for crossing the finish line!
Receiving everyone's various thoughts, I'm running again today!
Today is,
Heisei Diva Edition!
Let's go!
...
There might be some artists who are arguably not strictly Heisei, but these are the divas I listened to during my high school, university, and two-year freelance days.
Nostalgic!
Let's go!
So first, the first song!
It's her!
pick①
In her later years, she seems like a completely different person, causing quite a stir in the public eye.
And she also released a string of major hits.
However, our image of her is Mariah from this era.
More beautiful and sexier than a Hollywood actress, yet she kept that to a minimum, confining it within chic fashion like shirts and pants, while freely manipulating a seven-octave vocal range.
Her voice was already a top-tier instrument.
Truly, a diva.
And this was the song that made such an impact when it appeared during our high school days.
If you listened to this song when you were young, let us know in the comments!
Now, for the next song!
It's her!
Pick ②
The female vocalist who stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Mariah during our high school days.
Marie Fredriksson of Roxette.
Sadly, she passed away a few years ago.
As I have written many times in this note...
Truly, Dangerous!
High school was filled with a dangerous scent every single day.
New culture, friends I had never met before, my first time wandering around at night, and the rugby club where I spent the best battles with the strongest teammates...
Everything was dazzling.
And the sense of happiness and exhilaration of having a place to pour all my energy into.
This song represents that perfectly.
My Teams icon is still the photo from the Roxette greatest hits album cover.
If you listened to this song when you were young, let me know in the comments!
Now, for the next song.
What do you think it is?
It's her!
pick 3
Back then, there was no internet.
There was no social media.
Music was based on original experiences.
Brought by friends,
brought by television,
or chosen by the jacket at a CD shop.
That is how we encountered music.
It carried the same nuance as meeting a lifelong friend.
For me, this song flew into my ears from the radio during my college days.
I immediately went to Tower Records in Shibuya to buy it!
In the end, this is the only album of theirs I bought and listened to.
But even now, it is a masterpiece that never leaves my heart.
If you listened to this song when you were young, leave a comment!
Now, for the next one!
Second to last!
What do you all think it is?
It's them!
pick 4
The Irish music I listened to for a while.
Enya, The Cardigans...
Among them, the ones who captured my heart were them.
If I recall correctly, all four of them were siblings.
They are a band where all four members, in addition to vocals, guitar, violin, and drums, make full use of traditional Irish instruments.
Please make yourself an Irish coffee when you have a quiet moment and give them a listen.
If you listened to this song when you were young, let us know in the comments!
Well then, it's finally the last one.
What do you think it is?
Alright, let's go!
The last one is!
This one!
pick Last
When I was a two-year freeter, I met two brothers who had come to Tokyo from Fukuoka to work part-time jobs while aiming for a band debut.
They invited me to their live shows, and we would go out for drinks.
The younger brother taught me about so many different artists.
Among them, this is the song that still won't leave my head!
This level of enthusiasm!
I think about how we really raced through that kind of era.
But you know, that is not a lost past.
Because we can always reclaim the selves we were back then.
We can always return to those dangerous, running versions of ourselves!
That is,
the power of music.
It is.
If you listened to this song when you were young, let me know in the comments!
...
How was it?
Man, that felt good!
Everyone, if you listened to these songs and these artists, please leave a comment!
Let's get excited!
Let's go back!
To those days!
Now, here is the baton!
And this baton is the final pass.
The person I am passing this to last is someone who always helps make Mieharu Karaoke exciting, a member who participated in the Mieharu Karaoke Summer Version 2024!
Thank you always!
Thanks to all of you, Mieharu-san and I have been able to run this project for 4 years!
I love you all!
Since there is only one week left, please write an article and declare yourself the anchor!
If there is anyone who is okay with receiving the baton, please consult with others and pass it on, but please don't push yourself!
Also, if you have already written it many times and feel that writing an article is too much, please feel free to skip it!
Let's do this without pressure and have fun.
Just like the usual Mieharu Karaoke, participation is voluntary!
Finally, for those who want to write, please post your finale and cross the finish line!
I may sound persistent, but please don't push yourself!

The deadline is,
September 30th!
Let's get excited!
The top image is of my friend, the "Professional DJ" Tatezuka 2000, who is always with the sun.

To all the current Mieharu Karaoke performers!
It's getting exciting!
It's all thanks to you!
I love you all!
Once more!
I love you all!
