[1-Minute Summary] A log of becoming a published author that is important again now | Even on the night of a loser, the story continues. The reason I write even though I know it will hurt (#CreativeTheory #WebNovel #Kakuyomu #KakuyomuCon #GenerativeAI #ImageGenerationAI)
Hello. Good evening.
I go by the name "Ura-Byoshi," and I usually write light novels.
Every time I open X, my chest aches a little.
Seeing the glamorous reports of contest wins flowing through my timeline.
Outside that circle of light,
"It didn't work out. I was rejected."
The voices of those quietly hugging their knees alone rarely make it to the surface.
Actually, I am one of them.
Because I had passed the preliminary selection, I had hoped for it somewhere.
That's why it's simply painful.
Writing a long-form story isa truly exhausting task that drains the time of your life.
That is why, when faced with rejection,
I blame everything on my "lack of talent" andthere are moments when I want to give up writing.
I understand it in my head.
The results involve timing, luck, adult circumstances, editorial policies, and market trends, among many other factors.
There is no need to blame myself too much.
Even if I understand that,my emotions don't quite catch up.
Creation isn't just fun.
I get hurt because I love it,
and I get depressed because I'm serious about it.
And yet, after a little time passes,
I jot down new ideas again,
move my characters,
and start hitting the keyboard.
I know it will hurt, but I can't stop.
What is the true nature of this troublesome yet beloved passion?
In the corner of a timeline overflowing with congratulatory words,
for those creators who are quietly hurting right now,
I have written down the raw, honest feelings of that night just as they were.

"I know it will hurt, but I write stories again. The night of an active published author who failed the Kakuyomu Con 11"
Afterword:
On the day contest results are announced, many "congratulations" flow across social media. That scene is very wonderful, but behind it, there are countless 'people who failed' who spun stories with the same prayerful feelings. Whether professional or amateur, there is no big difference in the pain of being hurt. When you continue to create, only the results tend to be talked about. However, I believe there is value not only in the stories of the days we won, but also in the stories of the days we failed. If this article reached someone who is continuing to write stories while hurting in the same way somewhere, then perhaps there was meaning in publishing it.
