○ "Affirmation" opens up luck more than "negation" — The "power of acceptance" that May 12th teaches us
Getters Iida chose words that stay as close as possible to the dates of the 365 days of the year and compiled them into a single book. He reminds us with
gentle words of important things that we tend to
forget in our daily lives, which he reminds us of
.
I myself am updating this series daily in the hope of gaining
new insights in my daily life. I would be happy if this could be a time to
lighten your heart even a little at the start of your day.
This time, I will summarize my thoughts on "Getters Iida's Stories to Improve Your Luck in 365 Days", specifically the May 12th entry,
"Try affirming everything".

■ Start by "not negating"
The message for May 12th is the idea that
"by not immediately negating everything and trying to accept it first, your luck and connections will expand."
Of course, this does not mean "let's accept everything unconditionally."
important is not to reject from the start, but to have an attitude of
"maybe there is that way of thinking too" or "maybe it's worth trying once"
, and trying to
accept things softly.
People naturally want to reflexively say "no way" or "that's wrong" to ways of thinking that are different from their own or things they are not used to.
However, that "habit of negation" might actually be
pushing away new opportunities and connections.
■ The habit of negation stops the flow of luck
"It's impossible anyway"
"It has nothing to do with me"
"There's no point in that"
If you repeat these words, you will close the door to possibilities without even realizing it yourself.
Conversely,
"let's try it once" or "let's listen to the end"
— such
small affirmations can sometimes change the flow of your life.
Luck might be something that enters through "positive gaps."
■ Human relationships that start with "affirmation"
I think this also applies to human relationships.
If you respond to what someone says with "but" or "no, that's wrong" immediately, the conversation will naturally become stiff.
However, just by accepting it once by saying
"I see, that's one way of thinking" or "that's certainly a valid point,"
people feel at ease.
People and information tend to gather around "people who affirm."
I feel that such a sensation is common in daily life.
■ Affirming is different from being swept along
However, it does not mean you should affirm everything.
What Iida Getters values is
"whether there is a good purpose in it".
There is no need to affirm things that hurt others or force yourself to suffer.
Important is, I think,
"whether it is in a direction that makes you and those around you better"
, while looking at that, choosing your own way of affirming.
■ New luck comes in an "unknown form"
New luck and opportunities often appear as
"things you don't know yet"
"things that feel strange at first"
.
That is precisely why, instead of rejecting them from the start,
"let's try it a little"
"let's acknowledge it once"
, by having such a feeling, the door to luck may become easier to open.
■ Small practices you can do starting today
If there is something today that makes you think,
"I don't like this"
"this might be impossible",
"But, it might actually be good if I try it"
, please try adding those words in your heart once.
Also, regarding other people's opinions, first try accepting them by saying
"that is one way of thinking"
.
Even just doing that, I feel the conversation and the atmosphere change a little.
And at the end of the day, instead of "things that went wrong," try looking for
"things that went well today"
"lessons learned today"
.
Such a small accumulation of affirmations may be what
gradually cultivates luck.
