[3-Minute Essay] If You Want to Sell Paid Articles Consistently, Don't Write What You Want to Write
I imagine there are some people reading my articles for the first time.
Let me introduce myself very briefly.
If you want to know more, please read my profile article♡
I have started several businesses since my early 20s.
I have already sold my companies and businesses, and I am FIRE.
From here on out, I shouldn't have any money worries in my life.
Even so, I am earning far more on note than the average person.
However, this account is not intended for profit.
In my recent articles, I have been writing day after day about how I earn revenue on note.
If you are curious, you might understand a little if you look at the links below.⬇️
So, I will talk about the content of the title this time.
The world isn't so easy that you can just write what you want and have your articles sell like crazy.
If you want to sell a little or aim for around 100,000 yen a month, I think it's fine to aim for that by writing what you want.
The earning from paid articles that I am talking about is not that low-level of a discussion.
I am simply writing seriously for the people who have been writing comments seriously every day.
However, I will eventually make all of them paid, so if you want to read them for free, do it now.
I am not making this series paid because I want to earn money, but because if everyone starts doing it, they will become rivals.
If that happens, fewer people will succeed, so I want to convey this only to those who have been reading my articles from early on and have them profit.
Many of the people who started within the last year or so created accounts in a panic because note partnered with Google.
Partnering with Google is a big deal, but note itself has a mountain of problems.
That said, note's SEO (simply put, how easily you can be searched) has already become quite robust.
Nevertheless, there are a huge number of people who aren't utilizing it at all, which honestly surprises me.
Since I've already written about this in other paid articles, I'll just give you a quick glimpse so that those who have purchased them won't feel like they've lost out.
You'll understand if you search for your account name on Google.
Does your note appear?
To go further, even if it's not your account, if your search results are filled with 30 to 50 entries including things written about you, then there's no problem.
Even for someone like me, Hitotarao, who is always joking around, everything is likely filled with things about me.
That said, it's a problem if you don't show up properly when searched, or if you never appear.
If it's 10 results or less, you should assume that Google's SEO is barely functioning.
In other words, you shouldn't prioritize giving yourself the name you want, but rather think about the reader, the person searching, and what you need to do to become easier to find.
If I write too much detail, the content will overlap completely with my paid articles, so I'll leave it at this.
I mentioned that you need free articles even for an account meant to sell the paid articles you wrote yesterday by working backward from being searched.
In this article, I'd like to dig a little deeper into this.
Even if you try to sell paid articles like crazy, you need free articles where people can read a sample of what's written.
Even though they are meant to be used as a lead-in to paid articles, if even your free articles aren't read, it's difficult to sell many articles.
In other words, if you don't get people who are interested to read your free articles as much as possible, the value of writing and leaving them there diminishes.
So, what kind of free articles are necessary?
I've already written about this in my paid articles too, so I'll just write a quick note about it here.
As I always say, you shouldn't do things that only work on note.
You need to broaden your perspective and grasp the trends of the times and the demand.
If you think about services that provide various videos like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, the answer is simple.
The trend of the times is clearly leaning toward short-form content.
As I have written in my paid articles, demand has shifted toward things that can be consumed without taking much time, to the point where some people even watch Netflix at 1.5x speed.
If your goal is to write about what you like or to capture a core fan base, writing long articles might be fine.
However, if your goal is to sell paid articles, short, quick-to-read free articles are essential.
In the first place, being able to write long articles is, in my opinion, a field that requires a certain kind of talent.
Moreover, I think it's amazing that you can increase your fans and followers with that.
But in the case of free articles written to sell paid articles, you shouldn't write such long pieces.
This is because reading long articles goes against the trend of the times, and it requires a certain level of reading comprehension, which limits your audience.
People who can read long articles can also read short ones.
Conversely, it means there are people who can read short articles but cannot read long ones.
If I write any longer, I might be told, 'You're not writing short yourself,' so I'll stop here for now.
(It's also because it's time to go out for a drink... I'll schedule this post and head out 💨)
I'll add just one point.
Have you ever seen an account that only writes paid articles and has few likes or followers?
Whether you find that strange or not, many of those accounts have at least a few free articles, right?
I would be happy if you pressed the ♡ mark. I would be overjoyed by any follows or comments.
