Vale’s commitment to ethics and integrity
Acting with ethics and integrity is a non-negotiable commitment for Vale. This means listening and taking action when something is not right. That is why Vale provides a secure, reliable, and accessible Whistleblower Channel, dedicated to reporting suspected violations of its Code of Conduct.
The Whistleblower Channel is open to anyone — employees, suppliers, investors, clients, partners, or members of the community — and is structured based on principles designed to strengthen security and trust throughout the entire process.
Impartiality and independence
The reports are registered by an independent company and forwarded to the team responsible for the investigations.
Confidentiality and secrecy
All information is handled with the utmost confidentiality and discretion. Vale does not tolerate intimidation or any form of retaliation against whistleblowers.
Technical assessment and appropriate handling
Once received, reports are assessed internally and classified according to their category and severity level, ensuring the most appropriate handling for each case. When a report is identified as a complaint or query rather than an allegation, it is forwarded to the appropriate teams for review and resolution.
