(Pinned Post) How to Navigate Yakiimo's Note

Hello. My name is "Yakiimo"!

The top image and icon were drawn by Kanae Takamatsu, an illustrator based in Nagano Prefecture.

I am a mother of two living in Nagano, and I started writing on note in July 2022.

I am often asked about the origin of my account name, but I chose it for no other reason than “I like baked sweet potatoes.” That is all.

I never imagined I would keep writing on note for this long, and since I chose this name so casually, I often have an internal debate saying, “It lacks the flair of a writer, should I change it...?” with myself.

I hope you will read this article as a general guide to Yakiimo's note.

▼ How I started note

I started note because of the worry that "I don't know my own strengths!"

I read through many books on self-understanding and started with the mindset of "I might as well output something," but I discovered the joy of note, and writing became my life's work.

Thinking, "How can I make my note more widely read?", I used the Personal Editor® service for one year starting in August 2024, and have been seriously engaging with note.

Furthermore, to make "writing" my job, I have been deepening my learning at the "|Marble| School," where I study reporting, editing, and public relations skills, for about four months starting in August 2025, and I am active as a writer.

Thankfully, as I continued with note, I have had more opportunities to be read, such as being added to official note magazines, winning prizes in contests, and having my paid magazines subscribed to.

▼ Notes that people often say "I like this article"

The articles that are often mentioned as leaving an impression even after time has passed are the one about making Kohakuto (amber sugar candy) and the one where Yakiimo seriously makes baked sweet potatoes. Haha

I recognize that I like and am good at writing about exciting experiences.

“That’s so like Yakiimo-san” is what people say about these articles where my memories with my children and my inner voice come out.

Actually, these are the kinds of articles I find fun to write.

This is the piece that resonated with others in my parenting generation. Even though I wrote it myself, I find myself re-reading it many times.

I wasn't conscious of it at all, but people have told me it's 'unusual' that I regularly release paid notes and paid magazines.

▼ Paid Magazines and Membership

I have released three paid magazines.

The first is a series where I had a 'Personal Editor®' accompany me in managing my note, which was subscribed to by 24 people.

It contains a total of 10 articles, including records of 6 sessions with my personal editor and bonus articles. The second is this magazine, which I serialized from May 2025 to January 2026 while searching for the right balance between parenting and work. (Currently updated irregularly.)

As of April 2026, this has 18 subscribers.

The third is a magazine aimed at those who want to try their hand at paid content.
It was purchased by 8 people in its first month of release in March 2026.

Also, thinking it would be good if people could check the contents before purchasing these paid magazines, I opened a membership where you can read all the magazines for 500 yen.

If you would like to keep this on hand and read it over at your own pace, purchasing the magazine itself is more cost-effective and recommended than a membership.
