Rather than a nice scent, the comfort of no scent. My favorite fragrance-free shampoo

What kind of scents do you all like?
Even if you like scents, I think there are some people who find strong fragrances physically taxing, especially with the recent term 'scent-related harm' (kougai) being used.

By the way, my house has almost no fragrances. I personally don't care much for artificial fragrances, so my life is almost entirely fragrance-free, from detergents to everything else. As for essential oils, I don't keep those in the house either.

A long time ago, I heard that letting the scent of lavender drift through the bedroom would lead to a good night's sleep, so I tried to be stylish and dripped lavender essential oil onto a cotton ball and placed it by my pillow. However, you shouldn't do things you aren't used to. I became so bothered by the lavender smell that I couldn't fall asleep at all. In the end, I had the pathetic experience of having to go throw that cotton ball away at 3:00 AM.

Sometimes when I'm out and enter a select shop or similar place, I think, 'Oh, that smells nice,' but at home, I prefer no fragrance. If there was anything with fragrance in my home, it was the toilet cleaning sheets and my shampoo and conditioner.

Continuing such a fragrance-free life, my sense of smell has become as sharp as a police dog's. Since I suffer from migraines, fragrances also affect my symptoms when I have a headache. For a while, I thought I might be an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) and bought up all sorts of related books. In the end, I think I'm just a sensitive type in many ways.

So, I worried about whether I could somehow make my shampoo and conditioner fragrance-free as well. However, even if I looked, I couldn't find any. Wanting to prioritize the finish, I tried every product I could find that might fulfill my ideals, even if it had a faint scent. Of course, I also tried salon-exclusive products, but I couldn't find anything that could become a regular member of my routine because either the finish was good but I didn't like the smell, or the price was too high, and so on.

■ Encounter with 'Makuake'

In the midst of that, an advertisement for a sales site called 'Makuake' suddenly appeared on my Instagram.

There was a product there called 'Fragrance-Free Shampoo,' and I was intrigued.

■ Trying to support 'mushu Fragrance-Free Shampoo'

This shampoo is a product developed by the famous company Hoyu.

The episode is that the developer's wife was suffering from morning sickness, which became the trigger for development, and they actually managed to commercialize it. I made a support purchase without hesitation, and the product arrived in about a month.

■ My impressions after using it

・Scent
First of all, my first impression, having used tons of shampoos and conditioners with various scents, was, 'Oh! It's definitely odorless!' Well, if you sniff it really closely, there is a slight smell like the base material, but it's incomparable to the scent of commercially available products. I don't get sick from the scent in the bathroom. The shampoo looks slightly yellowish when in the bottle, but it is properly transparent when dispensed. The conditioner is firm and easy to apply without dripping from my hands. By the way, the reason it is labeled as 'fragrance-free' (mukousei) rather than 'no fragrance' (mukouryou) is here.

・Appearance
It's amazing that they were particular about the bottle design and the text as well. Indeed, no matter how fragrance-free or faintly scented something is, there are times when I think the packaging is just too noisy. Especially with drugstore products, most of them are colorful. Because the design is so well thought out, it doesn't stand out in a bad way even when placed in the bathroom. It has a transparent bottle with a white label, and the text is natural and subtle.

・Washing sensation
It lathers well and rinses off well. It might be more on the moisturizing side. I have fine, limp hair, but it didn't get greasy. With my previous shampoo, the ends of my hair would flip out and be unmanageable the next morning, but with this one, the ends are well-behaved, and I thought, 'Not bad!'

■ My personal hopes for the future

・When the conditioner gets low, it's quite difficult to get out of the bottle, so I prefer a tube type.
・I want them to make it available on Rakuten Ichiba as well. (Currently, support purchases on Makuake have ended, so it can be purchased on Amazon.)
・It would be nice if there were large-capacity refills for the shampoo.
・I want them to make something like an out-bath treatment milk in the same series.

In other words, I liked it so much that these are the only hopes I have.

In the world, various products are sold every day, and it has become harder to find something that I can call a staple product. However, this was a product that I felt I wanted to keep using.

For those who like fragrance-free products or those who feel they are highly sensitive people (HSP), I think you will surely find this comfortable to use. Although the crowdfunding on Makuake has ended, it is available for purchase on Amazon, so I would like to continue supporting this fragrance-free shampoo on my own.
