Fried Egg Experimentð£äžšFinally Completeð A record of how I made it possible for my children to make breakfast even if I collapse
Once again, I experimented with ways to safely make fried eggs using a microwave and a toaster oven.
Finally complete! The fried egg was a huge success.
I've reached the finish line of the 'breakfast research' I continued for my children.
Hmm, wait a minute?ð€
Silicone items are okay up to 230°C, right?ð€
Even though it says 'not for toaster ovens'...
What would happen if I set it to a lower temperature like 200°C,
and tried cooking it for the usual 7 minutes?
I'll give it a try since it's okay if I break it!ðªð¥
If it's silicone, it peels off easily and is simple to wash!ð
If it succeeds, that would be super lucky! Or rather, it would be even easier!ð
First, I'll check the bag specifications.

Alrightð 230°C.
I'll set the toaster oven to
200°C.

Since it shouldn't melt on the iron wire...
Just in case, I'll lay down a fiberglass mesh, put the egg directly into the silicone cup,

cover it with that 100-yen shop fried egg cooker lid,
and set it for 7 minutes.

I'll go do other things while I wait for the 'ding'.
Gah!!ð± Total disaster!!ð¥âŒïžð¢
The 100-yen shop lid melted and disappeared!!ðµ

The egg inside is all dried up!!ð¥
Hmm.
But the silicone is fine...ð€
Does that mean it would work if I used a silicone lid?ð€
But you know...
Come to think of it, the reason I was using the toaster oven was because
it cooked perfectly with that iron plate cooker...ð
I wonder how it would go with the microwave?ð€
Let's try it with the same method.
600w 1 minute

How many seconds was that? There was a popping soundð¥ and the sound of the lid blowing offð¢ð
Finished and checking.

Oh! This is one of the best microwave fried eggs I've ever made!!ð¯

The toaster has cooled down...
Alright! One more go! Let's try it in the toaster!ðª
Cleaning up the remains of the melted microwave egg cooker lid...
Ugh~ it's droopingð
cleaning this is going to be toughðŠ

Toaster set to 180â!ð
Egg set!ððª

I wanted to use a fiberglass sheet, but I couldn't find itð
,
so I'll use aluminum foil on the top and bottom as a temporary substitute,

7 minutes 30 seconds
If this works, it's a bonusðâïž
Yes! Looking good!âšð

What happens if it's under 7 minutes?ð€
I'll try it another day!
Thatâ was yesterday's progressð
And, this morning, it's time for a re-vengeð¥ð¥ðª
Yesterday, after that, I searched the kitchenð®ââïž
I found the fiberglassâšâïž
I immediately laid down the fiberglass,

laid the fiberglass on top too,
same as yesterday's final attempt,
Toaster 180â 6 minutes

Better doneness than cooking in the microwave!ð
Wait, what is that fluttering, bonito-flake-like film standing up?ð
It doesn't look very appetizing.ðð€

Trying again, this time changing the method,
applying a little oil,
dropping the egg, ð¥

covering the top and bottom with the fiberglass sheet again,
5 minutes

I did it!!âšâšððð
I've been doing this long, longðŠ experiment for a nice breakfast fried egg, and
finally, I've made something decentð

That iron plate I was using until nowâ
started sticking after about a week, the coating peeled offâ, and recently it was taking so much time to clean that I was in troubleððŠ
I was replacing it every week or two at mostð (since it's a very useful item...)
Well, maybe it was the way I was using it...?
(By the way, this is what it looked like after a little over a week)
But, it's super useful!âšð

Back side

From today, with silicone, it peels off smoothly, cleaning is easy, and
I can serve a breakfast that looks delicious too~ð§âð³ðâš
Since the kids have been on summer vacation since last week, I had some extra time,
and I finally managed to reach a successful experimentð§âð³ðâš
Conclusion,
Toaster 180°C 5 minutes or lessððªð¯
If you want it soft-boiled, I guess you could shorten the time, but
if it's not cooked through, my older child gets sickð
My older child can only eat raw or soft-boiled eggs if they are fresh, high-quality eggs from direct farm sales or mail order... (What a damn luxurious stomachð€)
Man, I'm seriously moved!ððâšð
Looking back... at first, the breakfast experiment
started on 4/9.
With this microwave cooker aboveâ, it went well right away, but
this cooker is truly our main cooker, and there isn't a day we don't use it.
Often, I use it for dinner, and if there are leftovers, I just put it in the fridge as is,
and since I was rushing when preparing fried eggs in the morning,
I started experimenting with making fried eggs directly on a regular plate, etc.
On 5/10, it was still in this stateâ,
Around 5/28, I reached my limitâ, and after seeing various microwave cooking methods, I bought things and started experimenting...
Why was I so obsessedð¢ with this breakfast experiment? Looking back, I remembered that in February or March of this year, I had a day where all my internal organs were in bad shape and I couldn't even stand up.ðµ
I didn't know that my internal organ functions hadn't fully recovered from an 18-day fast, so I was living normally... and then suddenly I broke down. ...ð±ðŠ
That day, the kids were at school, and I was on all fours, groaning, telling the kids to prepare their own breakfast and go to school by themselves... while I was in agony.ð
I confirmed the kids had left the house, and then, unable to bear the intense pain, I fainted at the entrance until past noon...ð
The kids had some miso soup left over from the day before, so they microwaved it, but
when they tried to make fried eggs in a frying pan, they fumbled and burned them completely black...ð£
Seeing them rush because school time was approaching, eating yogurt, burnt eggs, and natto in a panic, I thought,
What if this happens again, or if I collapse...?ðð±
With that thought in mind, I clearly remembered that I wanted to make it so that the kids could safely and properly prepare a satisfying meal by themselves in an emergency, not just for breakfast, but for any meal.ð³
The microwave experiment also started from the fact that back then, the kids were able to prepare miso soup immediately by microwaving it.
While doing all that, I forgot about that, started enjoying the possibilities of the microwaveð€, and did various experiments...ð¶
Well, that was fine tooð
It was long... really long.ð¥º
And...
I finally did itðð
Where there's a will, there's a way!ððªð¯
Let's all eat breakfast together again todayð
By the way, here is the usual breakfast patternâ

Well, knowing me... I'll probably think of something else again,
like 'I'm going to do it using only store-bought plates!'ð€ðª
and suddenly get obsessedð¢ð¥ and start doing it, I guess...ð
ð
Well, for now, this is a huge success!ðâš
My wish has come trueðððªð¯
So, I'll consider the breakfast fried egg experiment finishedðâïž
With this, I don't have to rush from the start of the morning more than before,ðâïžð
and even if an emergency happens, the kids can prepare it quickly and safely on their own just the sameð€ð
Mission accomplished todayð¥ðð¯
Now, let's wash the dishes...
Just as I thought that,
on the pack of green onions I threw in the sink,
a smiley face appeared!ððð

Things like this get me excitedðð€©
Even when I call out to the kids... are they doing summer vacation homework? Are they relaxing in the air conditioningð?
'Hmm,' 'Yeah,'
they won't even show their facesð
Oh well, that's fineðð
By the way, the kids have been on summer vacation since last week, soâïžðð
Where should we go?ð
Maybe I'll speed down the highway nowð and go swimming in the seað or somethingðïž
The long fried egg experiment is, for now, mission accomplished hereâïž.
With this, even if I collapse, the kids should be able to prepare breakfastð.
From next time, maybe I'll research the 'Kids-Only Microwave Series' together with them like a gameð
