[Money Talk] Let's Peek into HYBE JAPAN's Wallet [7th Term Financial Results]
The home of Japanese ARMY, that is HYBE JAPAN
|While supporting BTS, I somehow ended up reading financial statements through a mysterious turn of events.
I want to know about BTS!
Surprisingly, a lot of things are written in company financial reports
Rather than unreliable news reports, primary sources that allow for comparison are the best
That is the cause of my "desire -> realization -> rational conclusion" process.
I can't say anything complicated, I'm just getting excited over the numbers saying "Wow, they're making money," but please listen if you'd like!
For ARMY, HYBE JAPAN
is the deity that handles the operation of the Japanese official fan club and Japanese concerts, the production of Japanese concert DVDs, the management of goods shipped within Japan, and production for activities in Japan
HYBE JAPAN's 7th term financial results have been released
Translating this into plain Japanese, it means, "HYBE JAPAN, which has celebrated its 7th birthday, has shown us their 2025 fiscal year pocket money ledger."
-
Birth of the Japanese base
September 2017: Big Hit Entertainment Japan established
March 2019: beNX Japan established
-
December 2019: TNDJ established
March 2021: Since the headquarters changed its name to HYBE, they all changed their names accordingly
-
The Birth of HYBE JAPAN
July 2021: The former beNX Japan served as the base, absorbing the rest and changing its company name to "HYBE JAPAN"
October 2022: Transferred a portion of the business to Weverse JAPAN
-
Sub-labels
NAECO: Established December 2022 - Closed March 2025. Yurina Hirate was previously affiliated.
YX LABELS: Based on the former Big Hit Entertainment Japan. &TEAM is affiliated.
JCONIC: Established January 2026. aoen transferred from YX LABELS and is now affiliated.

Since they entered Japan in 2017, that is the year of establishment, but since the base of HYBE JAPAN is beNX Japan, my understanding is that it was born in 2019 and is now in its 8th term.
By the way, "beNX" is now Weverse Company.
By the way, speaking of money
When I compare the financial results every now and then, I think, "No wonder the Japanese market is valued so highly." The profit margin is incredibly high (*ノωノ) tee-hee

To put it simply, it looks like this.
-
Revenue: 78.657 billion yen (14.8% increase from the previous term)
-
Operating Profit: 8.516 billion yen (21.1% increase from the previous term)
Operating Profit Margin: Approx. 10.8%
Net Profit for the Term: 5.915 billion yen (2% increase from the previous term)
-
Retained Earnings: 36.602 billion yen
Even after having a ridiculous amount of taxes (approx. 3 billion yen) taken away, there is still a net profit remaining. Their savings are solid, and their financial health is such that their liabilities to others are less than half of their total assets.
Due to the transfer of the Weverse business around 2023, profits dropped sharply to about 5.3 billion yen, but they are making a nice V-shaped recovery.
Currently, they provide a luxurious environment of one label per group, which I thought was amazing, but with this much cash and assets, I realized it's only natural they can do it.
They can launch new groups or hold dome tours, and it seems unlikely they will have any trouble with 'unpaid compensation by the agency'.
Looking at the cost of sales, it is quite high at 81.4%.
I don't know if it's high-volume, low-margin business, high licensing fees to the home country, or if they worked hard to deliver high-quality goods to Japanese ARMYs, but there is a sense that they are giving back quite a bit in that regard.
They have a lot of liquid assets!
They hold almost no fixed assets, and over 90% of their total assets are current assets, so their footwork seems light. Since they have cash on hand, it seems like they could make big investments immediately ( *´艸`)
The 'selling, general and administrative expenses,' which include office rent and personnel costs, are relatively low, so I thought they must have a small staff. It seems to be about 300 people, and that level of earnings with that size is amazing cost-performance.
But since they have been hiring rapidly in both Japan and Korea recently, the scale might expand again.
They also have over 400 million yen in non-operating income. Since it's a company with cash on hand, I can't help but think they are managing it well through investments and the like. Money really does call for more money...
Keep working hard and making money!!
The biggest source of income in the entertainment industry is, after all, live performances.
There was a notice that they will come to Japan a lot next year, so I am waiting faithfully.
Japan has music facilities packed into its small land area, and because the currency and laws are unified, it is easy to travel, safe, and even possible to make a day trip to the home country.
Japanese ARMYs, who are known for being the world's biggest fans of physical music media and merchandise, and who have a reputation for selling out everything, are waiting for BTS with their own eyes, without smartphones.
Now, please drop HYBE's strongest IP, BTS, into this best market as soon as possible!!
And let's make money. Fans love an idol who lets them spend their money happily. So, listen well to the fans' opinions, be close to their feelings, and gently open their wallets.
The original's incredibly hard-to-read explanatory text (oops) will likely be handled by Weverse AI, but since AI hasn't been introduced to the official Japanese fan club yet, I hope something can be done by the next Japan concert...
Recently, they have been explaining how to watch live streaming and how to sync the ARMY BOMB with videos, so I can feel some kind of effort. For the fresh ARMYs who fell for them through 'Sore Snow', I want them to add an introductory corner like 'My First K-POP'.
I am sincerely looking forward to the enrichment of Japan-exclusive merchandise and a rich concert schedule. I'm looking forward to the next term's financial results too!
Bonus: The parent who raised SMAP has descended lol
On July 7, HYBE JAPAN announced that Michi Iijima, Representative Director of CULEN, has been appointed as 'J-POP Executive Producer'.
The purpose is to further develop local IP and promote strategy in the J-POP domain. While continuing her management and production duties at CULEN, Iijima will combine her expertise across video, film, and television media with HYBE JAPAN's business foundation to work on creating new entertainment originating from Japan.
