Have you ever asked an AI how to do something,
only for the answer to be so long
that you lost the motivation
to read it?

It happens to me often, too.
When I ask for computer operation steps or
a quick bit of research,
the screen gets filled
with lines of text.

Even if they are numbered in order,
as I follow them with my eyes from top to bottom,
I lose track of
where I was reading.

What is especially troublesome is
when I have to copy
the text I am instructed to
'enter here.'

The text to be entered is buried
within the long explanation,
and I lose sight of
what I am supposed to copy.

As I scroll back up the screen
and then scroll back down
to find the target location,
my motivation to read fades away.

If I make even a single typo,
it won't work properly.
I have had to start overdue to typosseveral times.

So I tried asking it to 'make it HTML'

So, what I have been doing recently is
asking it to
'make it HTML'
with the answer I received.

You don't need to be intimidated
by the word HTML.
Most of the websites and
online articles you see every day
are created in this
HTML format.

There is no need to memorize the name.
Thinking of it as asking it to
'put it in an easy-to-read page format'
is more than enough.

Actually, this method
was also recommended on the blog
by Anthropic,
the company that created Claude.
The idea is that for documents people read,
HTML is easier to read than just listing text.

When you ask, an organized page appears on the screen

When a long answer appears,
just continue by
typing 'make the current content HTML.'

Then, an

organized pagewith headings and color coding
will appear on the chat screen.
It becomes much easier to readthan reading in a normal chat.

When you actually ask for it,

Because the sections are clear,
I no longer get lost
regarding where I am reading.

What used to require scrolling up and down repeatedly
to find the place
can now be followed
at a glance.

Copy buttons eliminated typos

What I appreciate most is
having a
copy button added
to the input area.

If you add,
"Please also include a copy button" to your prompt,
it will create it with the button.

Then, just by pressing the button,
that single line is
copied as is.
There is no need to copy it by hand anymore.

The time spent
fixing transcription errors
has completely disappeared.
This is more comfortable than I thought.

Works with both ChatGPT and Gemini

This way of asking
is not limited to
a specific AI.

Whether it's ChatGPT or Gemini,
if you type
"Make it HTML" in the same way,
it will create it properly for you.
