How far can you go with 0 yen? The complete record of building a 'sales system' using only free plans
Doesn't hearing the word "free" actually make you feel a bit uneasy?
When I first learned about tools that could be used for free,
the first thing I thought was,
"It's probably so limited that
it won't be useful at all."
That was my initial reaction.
But when I actually tried building an
"automated sales system"
using only free plans,
I found that I could do much more than I imagined.
This time, I will share the entire record of that process.
The days when I couldn't afford paid tools
When I first became interested in automation,
the first things I looked into
were famous overseas tools.
Most of them cost over 10,000 yen per month,
and since I had no sales yet,
I couldn't afford them.
"It's tough to have fixed monthly costs
when I don't even know if I'll make any sales."
That was my honest feeling.
That's when I found the free plan for
Systeme.io.
No credit card registration was required,
and there were no time limits.
It said I could really keep using it for 0 yen.
But hearing it was free,
I felt a mix of anticipation and anxiety.
Would it really be usable?
I decided I had no choice but to try it,
so I created an account.

The overall picture of the system I built with the free plan
To start with the conclusion,
using only the free plan,
I was able to get this entire flow running.
A customer registers their email address
on the opt-in page.
Then, a free bonus email is sent automatically.
After that, a sequence of emails
is sent every few days
to convey the appeal of the product.
Customers who are interested
view the sales page
and purchase through the order form.
Once the purchase is complete,
access to the online course is
automatically granted,
and the sales emails stop automatically.
This entire process
runs completely automatically.
Even when I'm sleeping or traveling,
the system runs on its own
and delivers products.
I was able to build this for 0 yen.
What specific features did I use?
I will introduce the features
used to run this system.
Funnel (the path from attracting customers to purchase)
Opt-in page,
Thank you page,
Sales page,
Order form
You can create these four pages
within a single funnel.
There are plenty of templates available,
so there is no need to design from scratch.
Just choose one and rewrite the content.
With the free plan, you can create
up to 3 funnels,
which is more than enough
for the stage of selling one product.
Email sequence (emails sent automatically)
You can also create an email system
that is automatically sent every few days
to those who have registered.
Even though it's a free plan,
there is no limit to the number of emails sent.
You can register up to 2,000 contacts
and send as many emails as you like to all of them.
Online course
You can compile your knowledge and skills
into a course
using videos and text.
Access rights are automatically granted
to purchasers,
so there is no need to guide them manually.
Workflow (the heart of automation)
Triggered by 'when a customer
registers on the opt-in page',
send a free bonus email
and start the email sequence.
Triggered by 'when a product is purchased',
add a tag
and automatically stop sales emails.
Workflow is what allows you to set
these 'if this happens, then do that' actions.
It is because of this automation that
the system 'runs on its own'.
The biggest struggle was the limitation on automation rules
While building everything on the free plan,
the thing that puzzled me the most
was the limitation that
only one automation rule could be created.
'Send a bonus email when registered'
'Add a tag when purchased to
stop sales emails'
Even though there are two things I want to do,
I can only create one rule.
At first, I was almost stuck.
But as I researched,
I found that by using a feature called workflows,
I could incorporate multiple actions
into a single flow.
Triggered by registration,
send a bonus email,
and after a short interval,
start an email sequence.
By consolidating this series of flows
into one workflow,
I was able to cover
the limitation of automation rules.
Honestly, I went through a lot of trial and error
before arriving at this point.
But because of this experience,
a system can be built
even within the limitations of a free plan—I became convinced of this.
Of course, if you switch to a paid plan,
the range of what you can do expands even further.
Even with the cheapest Startup plan,
at 2,480 yen per month,
the number of workflows and automation rules
increases significantly.
Paid plans come in three levels:
Startup, Webinar, and Unlimited,
a system that allows you to upgrade little by little
as your business grows.
Start for free to build the structure,
and when the need arises,
you can just upgrade to the next plan.
This 'design that allows for gradual growth'
Systeme.iois one of its charms.
Summary
This time, I honestly shared
how much of a system I was able to build
using only the free plan.
Landing pages,
automated emails,
online courses,
payments,
and post-purchase automated processing.
Everything up to this flow
works for 0 yen.
If you have the assumption that
'you can't start without spending money',
please take the first step
with a tool that you can start for free.
If you know how to do it,
there are many things
you can do yourself.
Next time, we will finally
explain the setup of the 'order form'
where customers actually complete their purchases,
and how to link payment processing.
We are almost there
to completing the automated sales system!
